Reginald Thompson: Research shows that remaining unmarried greatly increases the chances that a woman will be raped, while living with a husband greatly decreases her chances of being raped.
According to the FBI Crime Victimization Survey, the average unmarried female over the age of 12 had a 0.37% chance of being raped or sexually assaulted in 2006.
In contrast, the average married female over the age of 12 had only a 0.04% chance of being raped or sexually assaulted that year.
That’s a staggering risk factor for single women of being 9.3 times more likely to be raped!
Now you might think this is due to single women tending to be younger, and younger women being more likely to be raped. But that idea is refuted by the fact that divorced women, on average older than single women, are even more likely to be raped than single women are.
Divorced or seperated women had a 0.43% chance of being raped or sexually assaulted in 2006, which means they had a 10.8 times greater chance of being raped than the married women did, and a 16% greater chance than the Single women.
Intriguingly, single women are also 3.7 times more likely to be subjected to violent crime than married women are, while being 5.5 times more likely to be subjected to completed violence.
Also, they are 4.9 times more likely to be robbed, 3.1 times more likely to be subjected to aggravated assault, and 3.5 times more likely to be subjected to simple assault.
So single women are at an elevated risk for all kinds of violent crime, but none so much as rape and sexual assault. This is doubtless due to the sexual nature of the relationship between a husband and wife, and the fact that by marrying a man, a woman provides herself with a physically stronger companion who has a profound evolutionary interest in protecting her sexuality.
But does it follow from these findings that if women spent more of their lives married, the overall rape rate would decline?
Or would rapists just compensate by raping the remaining single women at a higher rate?
To find out I got the rape rate for 18 years from 1960 to 2007, and checked it against the median age at first marriage for women in those years. What I found was a very strong +.602 correlation between the rape rate and median age at first marriage for women, with a statistically significant P Value of .008.
This means that 36% of the explosive increase in rape from 1960 to 2007 is explained simply by the catastrophic trend of more and more American women delaying marriage until later in life.
In sharp contrast, variation in median age at first marriage explains only a paltry 3.3% of the variation in the overall crime rate. This shows that there’s something very special about the relationship between age at first marriage and rape, and that the correlation between them isn’t just a question of median age at first marriage corresponding with some other factor that has an influence on crime.
Given this data, it is clear that anyone who actually has the best interests of women at heart will encourage them to get married as early in life as is reasonably possible.

Facing the Future as a Minority

Research shows that remaining unmarried greatly increases the chances that a woman will be raped, while living with a husband greatly decreases her chances of being raped.
Brilliant article, Reginald. As usual. But surely you can’t be suggesting that a woman should consider marriage as a rape-avoidance strategy? :)
Thanks Lucy,
I am saying that the effectiveness of marriage as a rape-avoidance strategy should be a factor pushing women in the direction of deciding on marriage.
It’s like if there was special car model where the people who drove it had a 9 times lower risk of getting in a serious accident. If people were rational, a lot more of them would buy that particular model of car due to the simple fact that driving it would be a highly effective Accident Avoidance Strategy.
I wonder how the stats would change if rape rates for unmarried black women and unmarried white women were calculated separately . . .
Splendid effort Reginald. However, it is highly unlikely to change minds. Maybe I am cynical, but I suspect that to the modern liberated single Woman, the dangers of sexual assault and rape are far outweighed by the horrors of the oppressive patriarchal institution of Eve-slavery known as Marriage. Rape by negro is an acceptable risk worth taking as long as woman can avoid getting married to a White man.
Are you suggesting that single women place themselves in jeopardy compared to married women? These predators of the streets don’t look for wedding rings.
http://newnation.org/
Well, mostly women who go alone by themselves in public or with other females, whether they be single or married, are at higher risk, no matter what. If a married or committed woman was raped by another guy, she can face far more distress than a single woman. She can be accused of infidelity/cheating and her husband or boyfriend can divorce/break up with her, rather than support her, which is not good. In other words, when women go alone, they need to carry cell phones and pepper spray with them. Single women may do this more often but married or committed women don’t. But if things don’t work, you might need a fellow male to go with you, whether he be your partner, co-worker, family member, relative, or friend because sexual predators won’t target women with men, especially when men are typically strong enough to fight back and are less likely to be bothered.
What are the stats regarding the rights of White women in traditional White societies compared to those of non-White women in non-White societies, such as they are?
Typically, ‘anonymous’ targets the White man for criticism leaving us to surmise that non White men must compare favorably to White men. Too bad we’re too aware to believe that bs. Splendid effort though anonymous.
The White man is responsible for everything that makes up modern civilization. No wonder all the other races hate and envy him so much. Non White men cannot even imitate White societies so they have to immigrate to Western nations in order to benefit from the accomplishments of the White man.
It is White people who need to expand and spread the creative spirit of the White man to other parts of the world rather than allowing inferior non Whites to immigrate here.
A new Manifest Destiny for America is needed so White people can have more space to spread White civilization which the world is in desperate need of because of the inadequacies of the non White man to uphold his end of the bargain.
Since rape is about power, raping White women is the only way non White men can exert any power. Rape of White women by non White men is the manifestation of the inferior nature of the non White races.
Flossie,
That’s a good question, but unfortunately I haven’t been able find a Criminal Victimization Survey with the data disaggregated by both race and marital status at the same time.
Overall the Rape Rate is about equal for White and Black women, with 2006 seeing the average White woman with a 0.18% chance of being raped or sexually assaulted, and the average Black woman having a 0.21% chance.
This similarity is explained partly by the fact that though White women spend much less time around the Black males who are most likely to commit rape, a Black man is more likely to rape the average White woman he encounters than the average Black woman.
The other explanation is that though White women are being raped by both Whites and Blacks, Black women are only being raped by Blacks.
But as I said, although an overall comparison can be made there’s no direct data on the rape victimization rates of unmarried White and Black women in America.
I did find some data on the almost all White country of Luxemburg though (note that the below comparison looks at rates for the whole population, and not just females).
http://www.europeansafetyobservatory.eu/doc/Crime%20and%20Victimization%20in%20Luxembourg.pdf
Assaults/Threats
Single Married
USA 27 8.9
LUX 3.34 1.66
Rape/Sexual Assault
Single Married
USA 27 8.9
LUX 2.24 0.5
For Assault, Singles are 3.03 times more likely be victimized in America, and 2.01 times more likely to be victimized in Luxemburg.
For Rape, Singles are 10.5 more likely to be victimized in America, and 4.5 times more likely to be victimized in Luxemburg.
One thing to bear in mind, though, is that in Luxemburg the category “Single” doesn’t include people who are living with a partner without the benefit of marriage.
Because in Luxemburg unmarried people living with a partner were more likely to be raped than other singles, this contributed to the singles category having a less elevated risk of rape in Luxemburg than in America.
Also, it is worth noting that it is really remarkable how similar the relative risks from being single were in Luxemburg as compared to America, considering the Crime rate in Luxemburg is in no way comparable to that in America, with it being less than 10% of the American rate in most categories.
It may be perhaps single women in Luxembourg don’t want to commit or are very stubborn, which is why rapists in that country target taken women because they think that their boyfriend cannot protect them and that rapists think taken women will commit to them and listen to them.
Hey. I don’t normally leave comments, but I just wanted to say thanks for the great information. I have a blog too, though
I don’t write as good as you do, but if you want to check it out here it is. Thanks again and have a great day!

Reginald, a couple of questions for you:
1.Is there any statistical evidence to show that married men are less likely to commit rape than single men? Logically, men who have a regular sex partner don’t need to go around raping other women. But it’s not as simple as that, is it? The Boston Stranger, the Yorkshire Ripper, and many other serial killers have been married men.
A second and more important question, stemming from the controversy aroused by your previous article: is there any statistical evidence that proves beyond doubt that pornography is a major causative factor in rape and sex crime?
To my mind, even without knowing the stats, this would seem to be pretty obvious.
Which forces me to conclude that the only reason pornography is not banned is that it serves the interests of the elite people controllers: it emasculates men and makes them unfit for anything but a docile servitude. In this febrile atmosphere of constant eroticism, men are too busy chasing skirt to mount a revolution.
From what I understand, evolutionary psychology puts forward a very straight forward reason for rape by single, low status men: They have less access to women. It evolved as a strategy.
Now this doesn’t explain other forms of rape, done by sociopaths for example, but apparently the great majority of rapes are done by thuggish, low rent, criminal type males.
“is there any statistical evidence that proves beyond doubt that pornography is a major causative factor in rape and sex crime?”
Lucy,
There is strong statistical evidence indicating that the legalization of Pornography was a major factor in increasing the Rape Rate.
Taking the two Pro-Pornography Supreme Court rulings that correlated with reduced fertility, I put them in a Multiple Regression with the American Rape Rate from 1960 to 2008.
What I found was that Jacobellis v. Ohio was 34% correlated with Rape, while the ruling in Stanley v. Georgia, that made it legal for men to possess whatever pornographic materials they desired, had a remarkably strong correlation of 68.6% with the Forcible Rape Rate.
Suggestively, with Stanley v. Georgia and the Murder Rate there was a far smaller correlation of 27.3%.
And even with a crime like Aggravated Assault that is notable for having a remarkably strong correlation of 93% with the Rape Rate, Stanley v. Georgia only had a 54.9% correlation.
That’s incredible when you get down to it! Two crimes almost exactly correlated with each other, and yet with the Rape Rate there’s an extra 14 points of correlation with the key Pro-Pornography Supreme Court ruling.
The one tailed P Value on the significance of the difference between the two correlations, one for Stanley v. Georgia and Rape and the other for Stanley v. Georgia and Aggravated Assault, is .1357.
That’s much closer to statistical significance than you ever would’ve expected for two variables more than 90% correlated with each other.
This indicates that there’s something special about the relationship between Stanley v. Georgia and Rape that is lacking in its relationship other crimes.
Another Supreme Court ruling that appears to have had an important impact on Rape is Coker v. Georgia, which abolished the Death Penalty for Rape.
Whether a year came before or after Coker v. Georgia explains a staggering 77% of the variation in the Rape Rate from 1960 to 2008.
And when we put Jacobellis v. Ohio, Stanley v. Georgia, and Coker v. Georgia into a Multiple Regression with the Rape Rate as the Dependant Variable, we find that:
Jacobellis v. Ohio explains 6.2% of the variation in Rape.
Stanley v. Georgia explains 31.4% of the variation in Rape.
Coker v. Georgia explains 51.5% of the variation in Rape.
It should also be noted that since 1960 the average year after Coker v. Georgia has had a Rape Rate DOUBLE the average for the years before Coker v. Georgia.
“Which forces me to conclude that the only reason pornography is not banned is that it serves the interests of the elite people controllers: it emasculates men and makes them unfit for anything but a docile servitude. In this febrile atmosphere of constant eroticism, men are too busy chasing skirt to mount a revolution.”
I agree. Plus without some degree of repressed sexual energy, men tend to become enervated and uncreative. Which makes sense when you consider that creativity was selected for in history largely as a means for men to impress the opposite sex.
If he’s getting more than his fill of sexual release, a man’s brain will see less need to expend energy on being creative or taking risks. Among other things, this makes him much less likely to partake in revolutionary activity.
How do we separate out other influences at that time that would increase rape? For example, the existence of free roaming black males would never have been accepted before the 1950s. Surely, this explains some of the increase in rape. Black males now have more access to White women than ever before in history.
Reginald: many thanks for your very clear answer.
Years ago, during one of the “anti-feminist” diatribes common in the movement, I wrote that when men made sex objects out of women, including their wives and the mothers of their children–when women had to change into black underwear in time for their hero’s return from the battlefield (office), partly in fear of competition from the girls in the typing pool, women began to seek significance in the work world; restaurants, laundries and department stores had taken over essential tasks that had maintained their significance before, and media was shaping new images against which they were being measured.
Pornography replaces beauty with ugliness and love with violence; it’s at the extreme end of the anti-female spectrum. (I avoid films rated “R” on the basis of sex; I can tune out language and violence.) Respect, self-control and an appreciative grasp of “different but equal” are, in my opinion, keys to family success; those who have them are not likely to give any of their time or money to the pornography products of Jews.
Well, that’s what happens when women refuse to commit to relationships and marriages. They put themselves at risk for violent crime more often than men. I mean, single men are far better off than single women and are at less risk for violent crime because they can fight back, especially if a woman attempts to rape him.
In addition to that, single women over 30-35 are far more at greater risk for rape than those under 30-35. In other words, rape worsens for women over 30-35 because that’s when women become more horny and rape is just a way to control their uncontrollable desires. And if a woman rapes a man, she gets slut-shamed by society and the man she raped or the man just rapes or kills the woman back for raping him. Female rapists are treated worse than male ones because it’s all about controlling female sexual desires and pursuits, same thing with women who look at heterosexual pornography or male porn stars. It’s just as worse.
But then married women can get raped by their manstresses, if they are having extramarital affairs.
