The English translation of Chapter 22 of 200 Years Together (“From the End of the War to Stalin’s Death”) is now available. (See here; donations are needed to complete the project.)
The main theme is the post-WWII purging of Jews from many of the powerful positions they held as an elite in Soviet society. Solzhenitsyn’s account is similar to other mainstream accounts, such as Yuri Slezkine’s The Jewish Century. When Jewish intellectual activists write about the role of the Jews in the USSR, they generally focus on this period—Jews as the victims of anti-Jewish actions—rather than the status and role of Jews in previous decades. The following quote from a historian sums up the situation:
“‘Pushing’ Jews out of prestigious occupations that were crucial for the ruling elite in the spheres of manufacturing, administration, cultural and ideological activities, as well as limiting or completely barring the entrance of Jews into certain institutions of higher education gained enormous momentum in 1948-1953. … Positions of any importance in KGB, party apparatus, and military were closed to the Jews, and quotas were in place for admission into certain educational institutions and cultural and scientific establishments.”
Solzhenitsyn pointedly notes that Jews who had benefited from their nationality because they were officially classified as an oppressed minority under the Czar were now targeted on the basis of nationality:
Through its “fifth item” [i.e., the question about nationality] Soviet Jews were oppressed by the very same method used in the Proletarian Questionnaire, other items of which were so instrumental in crushing the Russian nobility, clergy, intellectuals and all the rest of the “former people” since the 1920’s.
Nevertheless, Jews were by no means eliminated from prestigious occupations. A historian comments that “Although the highest echelon of Jewish political elite suffered from administrative perturbations; but surprisingly it was not as bad as it seemed. … The main blow fell on the middle and the most numerous stratum of the Jewish elite — officials… and also journalists, professors and other members of creative intelligentsia.”
Anti-Jewish attitudes remained strong, fueled in large part because of the role of Jews as agents of oppression during the pre-war decades. For example, Solzhenitsyn notes that there were negative attitudes toward Jews returning to areas that the Germans had evacuated, particularly Ukraine. Anti-Jewish attitudes combined both traditional ideas (Jews as wealthy: demanding restoration of prime residential property they owned before the war) as well as the role of Jews as government officials during the pre-war Soviet oppression. A Jewish observer who claimed that Nikita Khrushchev had said, “In the past, the Jews committed many sins against the Ukrainian people. People hate them for that. We don’t need Jews in our Ukraine. It would be better if they didn’t return here.”
Jews complained about these attitudes as well as the fact that other groups were indifferent to Jewish suffering, but Solzhenitsyn notes the irony, quoting another Jewish observer who stated “that in the years of our terrible disasters, the Jewish intellectuals did not raise their voices in defense of the deported nations of Crimea and the Caucasus.” The example is a testimony to Jewish ethnocentrism–focused on their own suffering but never seeing, much less acknowledging, their indifference to the suffering of others or their role in causing it during the height of their power.
There was a similar scene throughout Eastern Europe as Jews returned from exile after the war.
A great overrepresentation of Jews occurred in the post-war puppet Polish government, among managerial elites and in the Polish KGB, which would again result in miserable consequences for the Jews of Poland. After the war, other countries of Eastern Europe saw similar conflicts: “the Jews had played a huge role in economic life of all these countries,” and though they lost their possessions under Hitler, after the war, when “the restitution laws were introduced… (they) affected very large numbers of new owners.” Upon their return Jews demanded the restoration of their property and enterprises that were not nationalized by Communists and this created a new wave of hostility towards them (22).)
Toward the end of Stalin’s life, he intensified the campaign against Jews, possibly resulting in his death in 1953. The main source of his hostility toward Jews was the age-old concern about loyalty: Jewish ties with Jews in other countries — in this case, Israel and the United States. During the Cold War there was a fear that Jewish sympathies would lie with Israel and the US as Israel’s main source of support. One result was that Stalin crushed the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee (EAK), a Jewish organization that had been created to court support for the USSR among American Jews during WWII. During the Cold War, the ties between Soviet Jews and American Jews became a liability in the eyes of Soviet regime.
An indication of Jewish power is that the campaign against the EAK in 1952 was carried out “slowly and with great caution” because Stalin was “very well aware what kind of international storm would be triggered by using force.” It’s striking that the mass murders and deportations of the 1920s and 1930s were carried out without any international outcry, but the campaign against a rather small Jewish group was done very cautiously. Thirteen Jews were executed.
This is similar to what happened when Stalin ordered the murder of two Jewish leaders of the international socialist movement, Henryk Ehrlich and Victor Alter in 1942. These murders of two Jewish leftist activists created an international incident, and there were protests by leftists around the world — the same people who had previously ignored or rationalized mass murder during the 1920s and 1930s. Albert Einstein and Eleanor Roosevelt made appeals to Stalin, and American Jewish leaders, such as Nahum Goldmann of the World Jewish Congress and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise of the American Jewish Congress (AJCongress), helped quell the uproar over the incident and shore up positive views of the Soviet Union among American Jews.
Another manifestation of Stalin’s anti-Jewish campaign was the trial of Rudolf Slansky, the Jewish First Secretary of the Czechoslovak Communist Party. The trial was “openly anti-Jewish with naming ‘world leading’ Jews such as Ben Gurion and Morgenthau, and putting them into the same harness with American leaders Truman and Acheson.”
Stalin also arrested a large number of Jewish doctors —the “Doctors’ plot” — and “prominent Soviet Jews were forced to sign a letter to Pravda with the most severe condemnation of the wiles of the Jewish ‘bourgeois nationalists’ and their approval of Stalin’s government.” (The letter was preceded by an article in Pravda published on January 13, 1953 claiming “”The majority of the participants of the terrorist group… were bought by American intelligence. They were recruited by a branch-office of American intelligence — the international Jewish bourgeois-nationalist organization called ” Joint” [i.e., the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee]. The filthy face of this Zionist spy organization, covering up their vicious actions under the mask of charity, is now completely revealed.”)
In February, the Soviet Embassy in Tel Aviv was bombed. Solzhenitsyn accepts the idea that the “international anger” resulting from the Doctors’ plot “could possibly” have motivated “internal forces” to murder Stalin:
And then Stalin went wrong, and not for the first time, right? He did not understand how the thickening of the plot could threaten him personally, even within the secure quarters of his inaccessible political Olympus. The explosion of international anger coincided with the rapid action of internal forces, which could possibly have done away with Stalin. It could have happened through Beria (for example, according to [Abdurakhman] Avtorhanov’s version (66).)
The trimming of Jewish power in the USSR is important not just as a facet of Jewish history in the USSR but also because it had a major role in influencing some components of the American Jewish community to become less enamored with the left—notably Leo Strauss and the neoconservatives. Strauss believed that liberal, individualistic Western societies were best for Judaism. National Socialism was obviously bad for Jews, and Communism had become so. Despite their elite status, the events of 1948-1953 showed that Jews were vulnerable when the attitudes of an autocrat like Stalin turned against them. Liberal societies were best, but they had to be controlled against populist tendencies. After all, the working class had eventually opted to join the National Socialists.
Stephen Holmes describes Strauss’s solution to the Jewish dilemma as follows: “The good society … consists of the sedated masses, the gentlemen rulers, the promising puppies, and the philosophers who pursue knowledge, manipulate the gentlemen, anesthetize the people, and housebreak the most talented young” — a comment that sounds to me like an alarmingly accurate description of the present situation in the United States and elsewhere in the Western world. Given Strauss’s central concern that an acceptable political order be compatible with Jewish survival in the Diaspora and with the tendency for Jews to become an elite, it is reasonable to assume that Strauss believed that Jews would be a prominent part of the aristocracy and that the arrangement would serve Jewish interests–as indeed the current regime does.

Stalin’s post-WW2 anti-Jewish/anti-Israeli position also had a lot to do with his ideological world-view. Pre-Israeli Jews did not, according to Stalin’s definition, constitute a nation, since they were “state-less”. This situation, of course, radically changed after 1948.
I also think Solzhenitsyn’s speculations about Stalin’s death are counterproductive. Any biography of Stalin confirms that this guy was a sociopath with several unhealthy habits (staying up late at night, smoking, and drinking Georgian wines, no exercise, among other things). It’s not a mystery if a 73-year old with a history of high blood pressure and enormous responsibilites, suffers a stroke.
Another question: Why would a book that’s been written by a man who won the Nobel prize (and was prominent in American culture for years) not have been translated by scholars or publishers by now?

Years ago, even before I had any awareness of these matters, I used to hear AS’s name regularly in the news both before & after he’d moved to the USA. Then after he went back to Russia, it was as if he had ceased to exist. Not a word about him to be seen in the mainstream or any media.

During an interview on Voice of Reason Radio, F. Roger Devlin stated that Yale University Press planned to translate and publish the first volume as long ago as 2001, but influencial Jewish individuals persuaded Yale University Press to cancel those plans.
Things certainly have changed since the 1970s. At that time, A.S. was banned in the Soviet Union, but free to speak his sometimes controversial opinions in the United States (the Harvard Address, for instance).
Now, all of his works are available free of charge via internet in Russia, but “200 Years” faces defacto censorship in the English speaking world.

It’s clear that influential elements of Jewry think and organize criminally with the worst and most murderous of totalitarian intentions and economic treachery. For all their rhetoric and claims to being “a light unto nations,” once the layer of artifice is penetrated and the mask is forced down, the essence of this group is that it seeks to find elaborate means to imprison or kill anyone who might oppose its agenda and sociopathy. There is not an iota of good will or good intentions in this group, hence “reasoning” or “bargaining” or “dialoguing” with it is pointless.
I think previous generations of European elites realized this, and helped establish Israel for this very purpose — as a means of containing Jewish sociopathy without having to resort to wholesale slaughter. This plan went awry because Jewish nationalism has been allowed to infiltrate and co-opt the world’s only superpower, and maneuver it into doing Zionism’s criminal bidding.
As in other political areas, the “compassionate” and “liberal” who have indulged and coddled criminal Jewry, and acted out their assigned, sappy role as wailing Schindler’s (“Boo-hoo, we always need to do more for the poor, suffering Jews”) turn out to be the least compassionate and liberal, because they are enabling and encouraging the Trojan horse for vicious and murderous totalitarianism.
The criminal strain of organized Jewry, which today pulls the string of the American elite, is totally incompatible with the freedom and liberty that those same American elites professes to hold in such high regard. If you don’t listen to what they say, but rather watch the policies the pursue, its clear that the whole rotten bunch of them are anti-American, and at war with the Constitution, and we’re again quickly approaching a tipping point on the road to totalitarianism that their Jewish partners inexorably pursue.
Because the country would never accept Stalin being followed by another Georgian Beria could have no leadership ambitions and he would surely have realized his position as a former hatchet man would be untenable after Stalin died. It should be remembered that 73 was a respectable age for a man of Stalin’s generation, especially one who smoked and drank quite heavily ( his father and son were alcoholics ). After Stalin’s death there was every incentive to claim that he was planning to ship all Jews to Kazakhstan and hence provoke a reaction from the West that would start a nuclear world war.
I very much doubt those stories. At most he may have wanted to start getting over representation of Jews down to less outrageous levels while understanding that doing so in one fell swoop was impossible given their importance.

Posted that previous excerpt by mistake: meant to follow up that quote with the observation that Soviet persecution of Jews directly followed the persecution of Jews by the German National Socialists. I’ve read in a few places that in the early 50s Stalin was on the verge of wholesale expelling all or nearly all of Soviet Jewry to some remote Soviet territory, basically re-ghettoizing them – not sure if that is true or not. Seems to me that the publishing industry is owned and/or controlled by Jews. As such, they would be fearful of the strong ethical light of AS shining on the dominant Jewish rolls in the Bolsheviks, Cheka, etc.

What an incredibly pithy quote, that really strikes home. Our White Republican and Democratic political representatives are precisely these “gentlemen rulers”, who receive all of the public glory, respectability and rewards, as well as a neo-liberal philosophy that meets their psychological needs. The only ones promoted through the system are those that are prepared to toe the line and follow the program (uncooperative individuals are easily weeded out through political non-funding and media attack). The absolute domination of Judeo-liberal indoctrination throughout academia ensures that enough of the new generation of White elites, the “promising puppies”, are thoroughly educated and inculcated with the program, or in other words, “house-broken”. Sedating the masses through entertainment and grade-school training is probably the most obvious element.
This method of controlling (more or less) an entire society and nation is of course very similar to Plato’s idea of philosophers as the true rulers behind the fascade. In contrast to Plato, who envisioned the philosophers guiding the nation with the peoples’ best interests in mind, our “philosophers” have opposing interests that contrast with the long-term welfare of America’s European American founding majority. Our ruling “philosophers” exercise control for the benefit of their tribe, to ensure its security and material success in a foreign and potentially hostile land.
There are 2 main problems with the long-term stability of this program. First, the population must be reliably controllable, but also be capable of supporting a first-world nation (a third world nation has little security value and cannot provide much material support). Europeans have the advantage of being less ethnocentric, fairly easily follow authority figures, and are primed to act according to abstract ideas (rather than only on their particular interests). Of course they build high-quality first-world nations that are great places to live, and which exert great power over the world. On the downside, Europeans are typically individualistic, and with a relatively high IQ (and a large number of very high IQ potential dissidents), are limited to the degree they can be herded to their own dispossession indefinitely. Blacks have the advantage of being very low IQ, and easily managed. On the downside, they cannot produce much wealth (being major wealth consumers as a people) or maintain a high-level civilization. Hispanics have the advantage of being docile and more productive than Blacks, but also are capable of only creating a relatively third-world nation. Asians are high IQ and highly capable, but its nearly impossible to get them to act against their own self-interests. Therefore, a mixed population is required. Control can hypothetically be achieved by bringing in various groups, and the “philosophers” rule by triangulating each group versus the others, taking advantage of deep divisions to keep the mass a swirling cauldron of opposing interests, in which only Byzantine politicians like Bloomberg or Schumer can put together coalitions capable of action. (There is a reason why most sports commissioners are Jewish, the situation is one where a mass of rivals must agree and work together, and require a very clever, verbal and creative individual to bring them together).
There is a major underlying problem with the above; the mass will always be very unstable, and unpredictable events will continually arise. Ethnic groups are incapable of getting along together, and strife will be continual. Miscegenation is a promising solution, but in practice this is fairly rare (only 3% of European Americans have mixed race marriages). The lack of any majority in the nation will most probably destabilize the situation to the extent that the US will separate into smaller political entities (history tells us that multiethnic/multicultural nations must fail). Thus, I believe that the program must ultimately fail, much like the Jewish theory of exercising control via Communism turned out to be a dismal failure.
The second problem with this program is that the Jews themselves have a tendency to become indoctrinated with the program, even the scions of Jewry’s elite. For example, Edgar Bronfman Sr., president of the World Jewish Congress, wealthy business owner and media mogul, represents the epitomy of the Jewish elite. But even his son bought into multiculturalism, and married an African, having three mulatto children who will intermix with the Jewish line. Much of the Jewish world is being anesthetized by entertainment and education, miscegenating and losing their Jewishness, culturally and genetically. The younger generations of Jews cares much less about Judaism, not only being less interested in the religious aspect and about Israel, but having much less allegiance to peoplehood and the ancient Jewish-European conflict. In generations to come, there will be many fewer hard-core anti-European Jewish elites to carry on the game.
There is probably something in the Jewish mind that is inherently unstable and illogical. There are many attributes that make the Jewish brain very capable, such as aggression, creativity, verbal agility, high IQ, people skills, wealth accumulation and a capacity for certain types of highly abstract thought. But it is also a very highly emotional brain that has a very difficult time understanding long-term consequences of actions, which very often is extremely self-destructive. My personal theory is that the increase in brain-power in some areas came at a cost of a smaller pre-frontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for inhibiting impulses and long-term planning (I have no scientific evidence, just a pet theory). We see lack of impulse control and inability to plan long-term everywhere in Jewish history. Jews exploit natives with usury and tax-farming to the limit, not seeing that this must ultimately result in violent reactions against them, and eventual expulsion. Jews dispossess and oppress the Palestinians, not seeing that this will ultimately turn 1 Billion Muslims violently against them (with the long-term threat to the existence of their state, not that it was a good place to form a state in the first place). Jews enthusiastically embrace Communism, intending to rule Russia, undertaking the required police-state exterminations, not realizing that this cannot end well for them in the long-term.
Jewish efforts to subvert the US and mix its population, motivated in large part by emotional antagonism against Europeans (impulse control issues), also demonstrate an inability for long-term foresight. Even if this program succeeded, it would be disastrous for Judaism. Jews would be left with a third-world nation, which they were intermixing with, a nation that had lost the ability to influence the world. The end result would be a type of Ethiopia, where Jews settled long ago, intermixing over time with the African population. Inevitably, Jewish genes were submerged into the native population, with nothing left of the Jews but a mockery of the religion. The loss of the US as a superpower would probably spell the end to Israel as well, although the US is really the bedrock of Judaism, most of the Ashkenazi genes are here (Israel has an IQ of 90, primarily due to the lower-IQ Sephardim, who are over 50% of the Jewish population, as well as Arabs).
Although the Jews have succeeded fairly well to date in implementing the program envisioned by Strauss and others, this is more a defeat for Judaism than a victory. It will, I believe, ultimately destroy the US as an intact nation, resulting in a separation, the type seen in the former Soviet Union, or that almost happened in Quebec. Although the march toward a multiracial America where Whites are marginalized seems inevitable, it should be remembered that we are moving toward an impossible situation, a multiracial nation. We were told in the 1990s that the high-tech Stock boom would last forever, but it eventually crashed, we know that market bubbles must eventually burst. We were told in the 2000s that housing would go up and up forever, downpayments on mortgages were a thing of the past. But we know that real estate also obeys certain fundamental laws, and the crash did come. I am confident that the US “multicultural boom”, if I may call it, will also eventually result in an intolerable situation for Whites further down the road, and the nation itself will crash and shatter into various pieces (which I think is a very good thing). Like Russia in the 1920s, this is a temporary state of success for the “philosophers,” who seem to only be capable of eventual self-destruction along with bringing unhappy consequences to the peoples they interact with.

Speaking of speculation, Lazar Kaganovich’s nephew implies in Wolf of the Kremlin that his uncle played a role in Stalin’s demise. But Jews do love to boast (and lie) so who knows?

This chapter couldn’t be more timely. Many are discouraged currently thinking that once again the usual suspects have so consolidated their power and particularly their influence through the U.S. government that “resistance is futile.”
The campaign against Jewish domination had been running for years before Stalin died so any Jewish plot was very slow off the mark. Furthermore anyone, especially Jews, would have found it difficult to reach Stalin at a time when the Jewish Doctor’s Plot was being prosecuted.
Anyone thinking about doing away with Stalin would have Machiavelli’s advice in mind ‘If You Strike the King, You Must Kill Him’. Suspicious as he was Stalin had to be killed outright otherwise suspecting poison he was quite capable of ordering a mass slaughter of the leadership. Stalin recovered consciousness before death which suggests natural causes.

Lets get real! The US is not the superpower, Israel is.
Israel controls the US lock, stock and barrel. The current wars are wars for Israel’s interest (as the soon to be war against Iran will be). Not one iota of any of this is in the interest of the US.
This is depleting the US in life, limb, and purse. Hell, Israel won’t even sent her troops to fight in these wars of hers along side the European and American troops. Talk about chutzpa.
But you can bet that once the US is totally depleted and spent, Israel will find another big power toady to do her bidding, and throw the US into the ash bin of history.
The Jews have been kicked out of country after country throughout history, and you can understand why. I don’t know how we would ever be able to acomplish this with the Jews now in so much power here, but they need to be kicked out of the US and SOON, before we go into the ash bin of history.

Intercollegial Studies Institute (ISI)
From other sources I know about certain ISI Publishing which holds the rights. It is hardly a coincidence to have identical abbreviations.
If it is ISI that holds the rights, then permission should be forthcoming, or else the effort being made here may cause ISI to rush a forestalling “official” translation into print. ISI after all should not be wholly hostile to WN thinking–they are occasionally critical of the neo-cons.

Assuming that Kalder’s report is true, then it appears to me that the Solzhenitsyn family controls the copyright. There are plenty of Russian language translators who could whip up a decent English translation quickly. And there are plenty of English language translators in Russia itself who would do it on the cheap.
My take is that Ignat Solzhenitsyn wants some day to be named principal conductor of the New York Philharmonic and a freely available translation of 200 Years Together would nix his chances. It would probably force him out as director of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Orchestra.
Of course Solzhenitsyn is an un-person in America now, and popular in Russia: organized Jewry controls America via big money and big media, but, thanks to Putin, they’ve been routed in Russia. Which should give us all hope. During privatization a gang of Jewish financial spiders attempted to hijack and bloodsuck the country, and failed; one Jew billionaire dead, one in a cell, the rest now in Israel, licking their wounds and hatching new schemes. As far as the “Doctors’ Plot” goes….more murky Kremlin doings. Fact is, “dying under the knife” was almost a tradition among the Bolshevik and Stalinist elite; so….maybe.

On March 5, 1953, the Soviet media announced the death of Stalin.
There is overwhelming evidence that he was murdered. He died within 2 months of the Doctors’ Plot being announced.
His murderers were in two factions: a Jewish one (Beria, Kaganovich, Molotov) and a “Russian” one (Khruschev).
The Jewish one seized power, but was overthrown a few months later, by Khruschev.

Voroshilov and Molotov were in the Jewish faction. In Special Tasks, Sudoplatov says that their wives were Jewish, p. 288 footnote 4: sudoplat.html.

My estimates now is that total $15,000.00 is needed to complete translation of BOTH volumes if current translators hold to their word. $10,000 for the first volume and the rest for the second volume. $2000 is already collected and around 30% of the V2 is already done (counting in Ch.16 which is almost there)
I bet we will get it first. After all 8 years is little bit too much for the work which a professional translator will do in 5 months.

The volume 1 is around 140 thousand words long. Multiplying by 7 cents per word yields $10,000. From my sources I know that publishing houses pay twice as much to their translators.
The typical cost of translation of petty documents between Russian and English is $10 per 200 words i.e. 5 cents per word. The text we are working on IS NOT a petty document so 7 cents per word is minimum minimorum I assume.
I was just wondering (I have no opinion or knowledge of these matters) if a translation of a translation is considered “the same” as going from the original work?
