John Graham: Why is the American Bar Association swinging Left?

The alert but not particularly conservative Politico webzine has an interesting item “Right sees law group tilting left” by Josh Gerstein (9/25/10):

The American Bar Association, which was dogged for decades by criticism over a perceived liberal bent, is risking reigniting that debate by taking bold stands on a pair of hot-button social issues.

At its annual meeting last month in San Francisco, the nation’s largest lawyers’ group passed a formal resolution, urging every state in the union to permit same-sex marriages.

In June, the ABA took what it acknowledged was an “extraordinary action” by filing a brief urging a federal judge in Arizona to block enforcement of that state’s highly controversial law intended to crack down on illegal immigration

What is going on? Apparently what is going on is that the ABA’s new president is Stephen Zack of Miami, of whom Politico says that he

defended the group’s support for same-sex marriage and its opposition to the Arizona immigration law as part of the organization’s broad duty to defend civil rights…

The fact that the public is sharply divided on the gay marriage issue and appears to broadly support the Arizona immigration law isn’t relevant to whether the bar group should speak out on those issues, Zack insisted. “If that was the touchstone then in the 50s, we should not have taken a stand opposing segregation,” Zack said.

Evidently it is a personal matter:

Zack said his background has made him acutely aware of the danger of depriving people of their rights. “I came from Cuba in 1961. I’m the first Hispanic-American president of the American Bar Association,” he said. “I keep that experience very close to me. To me, the loss of liberty is not a theoretical exercise. It actually happened.”

Another of those socially conservative Hispanics? Well, not quite.

The preface to an article by Zack on Latina Lista (Guest Voz: First Latino President-elect of American Bar Association speaks out about civic education [November 20, 2009]) says

Mr. Zack will be the first president in the ABA’s 131-year history who happens to be both Latino and Jewish.

And Zack himself says

In the early 1900s my grandfather had come to Cuba from Russia, looking for a better life, searching for freedom, hoping for the right to practice his religion and beliefs without persecution. For many years, he found that. He raised a family, worked hard and prospered. Unfortunately, there came a time when that changed for my family in Cuba.

When I was 13, we left Cuba to come to the United States. My grandfather became a refugee for the second time, once again having to flee his home in search of that better life…

Far from being Hispanic — his family spent apparently less than 60 years in Cuba –- Stephen Zack is yet another descendant of Russian Jews working off ancestral animosities against mythical Cossacks by wrecking the societies which so unwisely gave them shelter and hospitality.

Complain to Stephen N. Zack

Yeah, obviously “Zack” is not a Spanish surname. It’s a common Jewish surname.

Incredibly, for most of the ’50′s and early ’60′s the ABA was dominated by Southern segregationists. This part of history appears to have largely excluded from the web but I did find some evidence:

Why does the ABA take leftist positions? Because the ABA is made up of lawyers, most of whom got into law for money and social status. They’re ambitious, and the ultimate ambition of every lawyer (after they’ve made a lot of money) is to be a judge.

How the can you be appointed to the Supreme Court if you don’t take leftist stands on social issues? You can’t. How will you be remembered 100 years from now by being a judge who preserved American culture (or what’s left of it?) You won’t.

CHANGE is what judges are remembered for, not stability. Preserving our culture is definitely NOT what motivates our judiciary…hence, the leftist leanings.

There are a few conservative judges out there, but they haven’t a prayer of making it to the Supreme Court, given leftist litmus tests in Congress.

While Zack isn’t a Spanish surname—it is a common Polish, and Slovak surname. Like all common central European names the Jews use it.

    A Better Future

In March 1974 a young Black criminal, Derek Farmer, held up a jewelry store in Dayton, Ohio, with the help of another Black. Shooting broke out during the robbery, and two people were killed. One of them was a White policeman, Sergeant William Mortimer, who was shot in the head as he tried to arrest the two Blacks. The other victim was a bystander outside the store.

Farmer was convicted of murder and armed robbery and sentenced to life in prison. While in prison he began reading law books, as many prisoners do. He also began corresponding with White liberals, including several judges. After 18 years the White liberals got him paroled. Farmer then got himself a law degree, and two weeks ago his liberal supporters persuaded the Ohio bar committee to give Farmer a license to practice law.

Although there has been no national news coverage of the matter, it has not been without controversy in Cincinnati, where Farmer, the Black convicted cop-killer, will be glorying in his new role as an officer of the court. Police are outraged, and even a few judges have expressed their displeasure with the prospect of having Farmer representing clients in their courtrooms. Liberals, however, are smirking at having gotten away with making a practicing lawyer of Farmer with so little resistance from the White legal establishment.

What makes this episode fascinating for me is a comparison with a case just 200 miles away, where another lawyer is barred from practicing law because members of the Illinois bar committee don’t like his religion. Lawyer Matt Hale is the head of an outfit called “World Church of the Creator,” which does not follow the Judaeo-Christian party line on racial matters. Hale, like Farmer, has a law degree, but unlike Farmer he is not a convicted cop-killer. In fact, he has never been convicted of anything. And of course, he is not Black. But the Politically Correct lawyers of the Illinois bar committee find his religious beliefs to be “offensive,” and so they will not permit him to practice law in Illinois. You and I both know that if he were the head of a Black church whose members don’t like Whites, instead of a White church whose members don’t like Blacks, the Illinois bar committee would be falling all over itself now to issue him a law license.

I would love to see the American Bar Association look into the Edgar Steele case out in Idaho.

Steele is a lawyer in good standing with the Idaho bar, a four year military veteran, an accountant, and a published author & internet radio personality.

The Federal government, on the word of a bankrupt handyman & paid informant named Fairfax, has charged Steele with attempting to hire Fairfax to kill Steele’s wife.

This Edgar Steele prosecution be the Federal government has more twists & turns than a mystery thriller, but, everyday Steele looks more & more innocent.

One only needs to read or watch Steele’s wife’s comments at a recent press conference to understand the situation:

Lawyers are no more leftist than any other group of professionals.Doctors, architects, accountants, school teachers ,college professors etc. are all represented by nationwide organizations that are leftist. Why?-because jewish power and influence prevails in all learned professions and in every other corner of society that has any input in setting moral, ethical and legal values. It’s the cultural marxist “long march through the institutions”. Liberalism is the problem that bedeils our society-it is the modern face of evil.

This story is so rich with irony, I hardly know where to begin.

Here we have a “Hispanic” shyster lawyer leader trying to drag the shyster-lawyer ABA swindlers even further left inside the liberal camp where they have historically played their grift by claiming it’s a “civil rights” imperative.

Then it turns out the Hispanic shyster leader isn’t really Hispanic at all, but a White Jew trying to pass himself off as a person of color in order to gain left-liberal multi-cultural cred (not unlike another opportunistic Jew trying to swindle the Latinos as a fellow ese by the name of Geraldo Rivera).

This fake-Hispanic crypto-Jew shyster justifies his lurch left by claiming the idea is to preserve freedom (“To me, the loss of liberty is not a theoretical exercise. It actually happened”) in reference to his family’s loss of wealth to the left-wing Cuban revolutionaries, and subsequent flight to America.

But once in America, suddenly left-wing politics are no longer about “loss of liberty,” but all about “civil rights.”

This guy epitomizes the classic Jewish Zionist neoliberal scam around which the entire modern Democrat Party (and neocon wing of the GOP) has been built.

Is their a waking moment in the lives of these counterfeit human beings when they’re not going round and round in their minds the different possible ways they can swindle, subjugate, rob, murder, defraud or disenfranchise some group or some individual “mark,” and get away with it scot-free?

the most outrageous case of jew posing as hispanic- some years ago there a radio station became available in LA – the federal government had a program to favor minority ownership..and irony of ironies, the radio station went to a jew (with federal assitance) because he CLAIMED he was hispanic because…he was of sepharidic descent.

It has recently been revealed that the first britians came from Iberia- so will WASPs be able to try the same gambit?

Secondly, i question the title of this post – leaning LEFT… – hmm what is this ‘hispanic’s and the ABAs view on Zionism and israel and ‘anti racism’ as it applies to israeli apartheid..
will this ‘hispanic’ move to disbar alan dershowitz because he sits on a torture warrant board and advocates collective punishment of palestinians?

Jews rule by constructing group-entitlements – here, sex deviates and illegals – then buying their support, votes, etc. with debt-financed handouts and corrosive special privilages. At present they are at the apogee of their power….and when they fall, they will hit bottom like never before.
