The U.S. Military Buildup in the Persian Gulf: Neocon Policies Are Alive and Well

Although the neocons certainly oppose the withdrawal from Iraq, there are certainly some consolations. As Glenn Greenwald points out at Salon,

The U.S. has Iran completely encircled. It has over 100,000 troops in the nation on Iran’s eastern border (Afghanistan, where, just incidentally, the U.S. continued through this year to turn over detainees to a prison notorious for torture) and has occupied the nation on Iran’s western border (Iraq) for eight years, and will continue to maintain a “small army” of private contractors and CIA officials after it “withdraws.” The U.S. continuously flies drone aircraft over and drops bombs on the nation on Iran’s southeastern border (Pakistan). Its NATO ally (Turkey) is situated on Iran’s northwestern border. The U.S. has troops stationed in multiple countries just a few hundred miles across the Persian Gulf from Iran, virtually all of which are client states. The U.S. has its Fifth Fleet stationed in a country less than 500 miles from Iran (Bahrain) containing“US warships and contingents of U.S. Marines.” And the U.S. routinely arms Iran’s two most virulent rivals (Israel and Saudi Arabia) with sophisticated weaponry.

Greenwald rightly points to  the ludicrousness of Hilary Clinton’s statement:

“We will have a robust continuing presence throughout the region, which is proof of our ongoing commitment to Iraq and to the future of that region, which holds such promise and should be freed from outside interference to continue on a pathway to democracy,” Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in Tajikistan after the president’s announcement.

Apparently, the U.S. doesn’t count as outside interference, perhaps because the Obama administration considers the entire area to be American territory.

The author of the NYTimes article critiqued by Greenwald is Thom Shanker. Shanker warns darkly about “the threat of a belligerent Iran” that requires an enhanced U.S. military presence in the region. Threat to whom? Obviously the main threat is to Israel. Indeed, perhaps spurred by the imminent U.S. withdrawal, the threat of an Israeli attack on Iran is again heating up; see Richard Silverstein’s report, “Haaretz Screaming Headline: Bibi Seeks Cabinet Approval for Iran Attack.”

Alison Weir’s outfit, the Council for the National Interest, points out that Shanker is associated with the Center for New American Security (CNAS),

an institution created by what analyst Justin Raimondo terms ‘left neocons’ that has worked to “build the case for widening the ‘war on terrorism’ to include not only Afghanistan but also Pakistan.”

CNAS has ties with the Republican neocons as well; its invitation-only launch included Philip Zelikow and Peter Feaver of the National Security Council.

While neoconservatives and the Project for a New Amerian Century (PNAC) – which closed down in 2006 – successfully pushed war on Iraq, CNAS – which was formed in 2007 – often has its sights on Iran.

Among its board members and senior fellows are Richard L. Armitage, a signer of the PNAC letter to Presidient Clinton calling for war on Iraq, and Robert D. Kaplan, a neoconservative whose bio emphasizes his diverse consultant positions to various branches of the US military, but leaves out that the fact that, while born in the US, his only military service was in the Israeli military.

Phillip Zelikow was the head of the government’s 9-11 commission. His strong neocon connections are a major reason for skepticism about the report.

All in all, it’s another good example of how power works in America. People like Shanker go between jobs in the media and in the neocon infrastructure, just as so many neocons have alternated between positions in the government and overtly pro-Israel activist organizations and other positions in the neocon infrastructure. When they write books, as Shanker has done, they are assured of high visibility in the media and good reviews, at least from other neocons.

It’s a life.  We have to make that possible on the racialist right.

You cannot make this up. From the NYT article cited above talking about/quoting Kaplan:
… he advises, we ought to become more tolerant of American casualties. So what’s the holdup? “It was the elites that had a more difficult time with the deaths of soldiers and marines.” Their concern is misplaced. The grunts have an “unpretentious willingness to die,” which is in part “the product of their working-class origins. The working classes had always been accustomed to rough, unfair lives and turns.”

It’s true that Islamic Republic is encircled by US occupied regimes – but Iran is not Iraq under Saddam Hussein. In fact, once US occupation forces leave Iraq, Israel will become an open target for the anti-US Middle Eastern countries. The so-called ‘Arab Spring’ mass protests in Egypt and Jordan have shown that people of those countries hate the US for later’s blind support for Israel.

Many Arab analyst believe that US is holding down its military aggression against Syria, Lebanon and Iran – because Israel will become open target for the Arab armies and people.

In June, Meir Dagan, former head of Israeli Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service, referred to the possibility of an Israeli Air Force attack on Iranian nuclear facilities as “the stupidest thing I have ever heard.”

The former Chief of Israel Occupation Force (IOF) Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi, General Amos Yadlin, former head of IOF intelligence and former Shin Bet domestic security chief Gen. Yuval Diskin have all expressed their opinion that Israeli army is not capable of defeating Iran but a war with Iran will result in a great Jewish tragedy…..

Zelikow actually wrote the 9/11 Commission report before the committee members had even started an investigation. He’s probably the main source of the “official story.”

It’s amazing that these openly criminal and treasonous dual-citizen Jews are not in prison next to Jonathan Pollard.

Apparently, the U.S. doesn’t count as outside interference, perhaps because the Obama administration considers the entire area to be American territory.

We’re an empire now, with our capital seemingly in Tel Aviv. Obama obviously hasn’t changed anything. While our empire clearly serves the long term interests of Israel and Jews generally, horrifyingly, the non-Jewish White elites seem to be gaining nothing but short term profits and long term disaster.

    @Dark Henry

That quote sums up their attitude nicely. Why are many conservative whites so easily impressed with these armchair generals anyway?

@KMac You have to ask for jobs—and as the A3P, and other efforts shape up you may find yourself in that position sooner than you think.

It may not be in California, but, a political intervention in a smaller state might well give you the US Senator, or Governor you need to place someone in a key job.

If history is any guide, successful White politics is populist, and somewhat progressive, but, socially conservative in terms of human inter-actions.

The weather vane of the media is pointing toward the possibility that the Jews will do something crazy like attack Iran with or without the US—and touch off a world war.

Of the hundreds who comment here I hope everyone remembers to send you an extra $10 or $20. You have a demonstrated work ethic, and politics is work!

22 years after the break-up of the Soviet bloc, America is spending per annum upwards of $1 and ½ trillion on various things military.
I used to lament how eager the foreign governments were to buy up American debt which financed a good chunk of this lunatic foreign policy, until Alan ‘Mr. Cheap Credit’ Greenspan came through and on Meet the Press declared that ‘we can always print money’.
So there you have it. Should the Red Chinese, Wahhabis, Brits, East Asians, Russians decide to scale down on their purchases of US Treasury debt – the feds can shift to Plan B.
If Iran is attacked, they’d do their utmost to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. Which is going to translate into $200 a barrel oil. I don’t reckon the former Boston furniture salesman Ben Nitay, his 5th column in America or their shabbos goy vermin enablers much care what such outcome would mean for whatever is left of the US economy.

Jews will start a World War by way of a false flag operation; the recent laughable “attempt” on the Saudi ambassador may have been legit or even a trial ballon to see what public reaction would be but they want war, that’s for sure. The main problem is that short of a NBC conflict, Israel is surrounded on all sides by enemies that would love nothing more than to run them into the Med at bayonet point.

As a member of the military with a keen interest in history, I am long tired of our service members being used as cannon fodder for the Jews and the NWO.

Each election year – Israel finds American political system more vulnerable. With record numbers of US lawmakers and Obama administration officials in its pocket than ever – the hawks in Israeli government don’t need to fear a ‘duck’ President Obama. Even after US Secretary Defence, Leon Panetta’s warning to Israeli leaders not to rush into a suicidal war with Islamic Republic during his recent visit to Tel Aviv – there are growing signs that Jewish Lobby is preparing ground for Obama to have no other choice but join Israeli war against Iran.

Last month, Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, in an interview told Asia Times that Iran was prepared to undertake the necessary efforts to restore mutual confidence between P5+Germany. Tehran also offered to stop its enrichment process if some reliable western country is willing to provide nuclear fuel needed to operate Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) which makes cancer isotopes for 850,000 Iranian patients…..

Those little Zionist termites always want to use America’s goy soldiers to defend their Jewish interests and now, their little Jewish fiefdom in the desert. The Gentiles who ally themselves with them are traitors.

Of course, when these Jewish partisans are rightfully criticized they instinctively play the Holocaust card and thus are usually able to silence the opposition quite effectively.

This news strengthens my belief that Israel’s coming collapse will be quick and sudden. Virtually everybody hates them, but has to do their bidding because of their supreme lobby powers. I actually think probably the majority of present US congresspeople hate Israel and the Jews, but they are still on their side because even hinting at that might destroy their careers.

    @ZOG

9/11 Commission Executive Director Philip Zelikow and Ernest May, a long-time associate of Zelikow and consultant to the commission, complete an outline of the commission’s final report, although the commission has barely began its work and will not report for another 16 months. The outline is detailed and contains chapter headings, subheadings, and sub-subheadings. The outline anticipates a 16-chapter report (note: the final report only has 13) that starts with a history of al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden’s 1998 fatwa against the US. There will then be chapters on US counterterrorism policy, threat reporting leading up to 9/11, and the attacks themselves will be in chapter seven (in the final report, the day of 9/11 chapter is moved to the start).

Zelikow shows the report to Commission Chairman Tom Kean and Vice-chairman Lee Hamilton and they like it, but think it could be seen as evidence that they have pre-determined the outcome. Therefore, they all decide it should be kept secret from the commission’s staff. According to May it is “treated as if it were the most classified document the commission possessed.”

Hizbullah has announced the capture of over a dozen spies working for CIA and Mossad. The CIA-Mossad spies and their local informant were using a Beirut Pizza Hut restaurant as their meeting place cover-up.

Several dozen CIA-Mossad agents have been captured in both Lebanon and Iran since the begining of this year. The Zionist-controlled mainstream media is whining that these so-called ‘spies’ will most probably put to death. It’s interesting to note that these whining thugs don’t mention the fate of Ali Reza Asgari, Iran’s former defense minister and retired Iran’s Revolutionary Guard General. He was kidnapped by Israeli Mossad while on visit to Turkey in 2007 and later murdered by Mossad agents in Ayalon Prison. Contrary to that Iran released on humanitarian basis three American Jews (Shane Bauer, Josh Fattal and Sarah Shourd), who were captured and sentenced for spying for Israel.

Iranian Majlis (Parliament) has unanimously passed a bill demanding that Ahmadinejad government downgrade country’s diplomatic ties with Britain within two weeks. This could mean the expulsion of British ambassador Dominic Chilcott. According to British Israel Communication & Research Centre (BICOM), Dominic Chilcott is a member of Labour Friends of Israel. The Opposition Labour Party is headed by a Jew, Ed Miliband.

The Zionist-controlled mainstream media is claiming that Iranian lawmakers are furious over British fresh sanctions against Iran’s Central Bank and other financial institutions. Iran’s trade with Britain and Canada is insignificant and not to effect Iranian oil industry.

The real reason for Iranian lawmakers’ outburst is the revelation of Gould-Fox-Werritty Scandal. According to British press leaks, British Ambassador to Israel, Zionist Jew Matthew Gould, conspired with Israeli Mossad to start a war with the Islamic Republic. The other two involved in the scandal; Liam Fox, is former British Defense Secretary and his longtime Jewish gayfriend Adam Werritty.

British Private Eye has reported that Fox and Werritty met Gould in Tel Aviv six times in the company of senior Israeli officials and discussed anti-Iran plans. It’s also reported that former British ambassador Craig Murray played a major role in exposing the activities of these thre Zionist thugs.

On May 29, 2011 – Israel daily Jerusalem Post reported: “British Ambassador Matthew Gould declared his committment to Israel and the principles of Zionism on Thursday“.

“The real concern among government officials, Murray said, is that Fox, Werritty and Gould were conspiring in a “rogue” foreign policy – opposed to the British government’s stated aims – that was authored by Mossad and Israel’s neoconservative allies in Washington,” wrote Jonathan Cook in The Nation (Pakistan), November 27, 2011.

On October 16, 2011 – British daily The Telegraph posted a report by Josie Ensor claiming that “Adam Werritty ploted with Israel to topple Iran’s President Ahmadinejad“. Werritty who speaks fluent Persian, had paid visit to British embassy in Tehran several times. He allegedly also met several members of the ‘Green Revolution’.
