@Will Williams: Thanx Wil! What most sheeple don't know is that to "make it" in Hollywood, one has to be a sexual degenerate/homosexual/pedophile/satanist. Just looking at A.G., I can SEE thru the "acting", and see, probably, a sadistic pedo! Google the McMartin Day Care Scandal/Ted Gunderson, where hundreds of children complained of sexual abuse/sodomy, and SRA. It was swept under the rug, and Hollywood actually produced a "damage control" made for TV movie about it. The movie made it look like the perps were the "abused". TV is a powerful tool to sway the sheeples" opinions!

Griffith was an actor with a talent for hitting his mark and reciting the words of his Jewish scriptwriters, whether it was as his mean, redneck drunk character, Dusty Rhodes, in A Face in the Crowd (written by Budd Schulberg, produced and directed by Elia Kazan), or as the lovable Sheriff of Mayberry, Andy Taylor. Christ, just peruse the list of creators, producers, directors and writers of the 249 “homespun” episodes of the Andy Griffith Show episodes and you might think Mayberry was in Israel, not rural NC.

Back in the early 1980s I worked on a project near Manteo, NC, Griffith’s hometown, and met a few folks who knew the real Andy Griffith. Whenever asked what sort of man they thought their most famous resident was, the near-universal consensus was “asshole.” On TV and in the movies he was acting — seeming rather than being.

I came to this thread looking for Robert Lloyd’s mention of “The White Network” and got interested in reading some of the comments. I must say I am impressed with Hadding Scott’s devotion to truth and accuracy; I will have to pay attention to him now when we have a small disagreement as he is likely to be right!

Hadding is too young to have lived in the 1950′s but I am not. The fact that his version of events is correct has to be due to his habit of careful research.

I remember the Andy Griffith Show better than a lot of other television shows back then, and I recall Andy’s romances very well, and how Opie was always hoping that Andy would provide him with a “Ma.” There were some great episodes based on Opie’s idea that he would help it along. It was all very funny, endearing and heart-warming, and I was just a young girl myself! My female mind like those “dating” episodes and I especially remember the series of programs in which Sheriff Taylor courted Opie’s pretty schoolteacher, who all the kids in her class liked, and especially Opie.

I have to confirm Hadding’s position on the entertainment of the ’50′s — it was designed to appeal to the white majority, not to subvert them. Those who were not born until the ’70s and ’80s don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to the 50′s. I could talk about it now for hours because American life back then appears perfect and idyllic compared to what we have now. Ward Kendall talks about the ’60, but already things were changing … especially by ’65. It’s too bad there will soon be nobody left who actually lived then. Then only people like Hadding Scott will be able to tell the truth about it. The main drawback was that we were too naive and still believed in what our government told us … but look how many people still do! The main difference was that we were White and our whole world was White. Too many Whites today can’t imagine what that was like.

@russ hook: Russ, one thing is true that Alice, along with so many others, shouldn't be criticized too harshly fo---the belief that one or the other of our two party systems has anything to do with America's real problems. They are both toxic, irrelevant and a spiritual drain on the average European-American. But we've all been living and working and thinking in this paradigm for so long, that we continue to think things are always as they have been, even though it's so evident when we have quiter moments to consider it all, we know it to be otherwise.
