The college Republicans at UC-Berkeley have gotten a lot of attention with their bake sale in which prices are determined by people’s race and gender, with White males paying top dollar. It’s a great gimmick, definitely putting the usual suspects on the defensive.
The event, met with anger by many students, was timed to counteract a phone bank in support of a bill on Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk that would allow the UC and Cal State University systems to consider such factors, as long as no preference was given, in admissions.
Proposition 209, passed by voters in 1996, banned affirmative action in public university admissions. The current bill would not violate that ban. Instead it would permit schools to consider things such as ethnicity, much as they do extracurricular activities, when weighing candidates. “Frosted by Berkeley ‘diversity’ bake sale“; LA Times, Sept. 28, 2011)
But of course that means that being Black will be counted like being captain of the debate team: Very positive. And being White will being like having a few run-ins with your guidance counselor on your high school record—definitely a negative.

A gender and women’s studies major complained that “It’s … forcing people into a defensive position instead of an honest place of listening.” In other words, “It hurts my feelings to be put on the defensive and actually have to rationally support my position. It’s so unlike my women’s studies courses where we all think alike and we can say whatever bad things we want about Whites without being challenged.”
What’s remarkable is the “hundreds of students — many of them African American or Latino — lying down in the heart of Sproul Plaza” in protest. These people want to get all the benefits of racial preferences but never have anyone call attention to the fact that they receive the benefits. In their own minds, they are utterly deserving of these benefits—the message that is pounded home in dozens of courses that vilify White males–departments of gender and women’s studies being prime examples.

Facing the Future as a Minority
Was the Immigration Act of 1924 Illiberal?

It’s encouraging to see individuals take a stand in the face of coercion and expose the systemic bias towards Whites. The truth is starting to weaken the facade of political correctness and expose it for what is really is: White racism.
This is a great article! I commend the students involved with this outreach. Talk of theory and dwelling in the abstract is one thing-but this stunt actually puts boots on the ground and challenges the status quo in person. KUDOS!
-I received a waterfall of anti-white rhetoric during my under-grad and grad school experience. The only answer is to establish a European activist club on campus which viciously defends white students from racist anti-white professors and rival ethnic clubs such as La Raza. We have no outlet for unity and therefore the witch-hunt continues on our college campuses.
I think it’s a big fat waste of time criticizing affirmative action w/o also criticizing capitalism’s love for diversity–I mean, consumers, rainbow consumers. But that’d be too much to ask of these crypto-liberal Republitards.
The MSM is pretending that this “bake sale” protest is something new and unique. A google check shows that this has been done many times before:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affirmative_action_bake_sale
“The event, met with anger by many students, was timed to counteract a phone bank in support of a bill on Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk that would allow the UC and Cal State University systems to consider such factors, as long as no preference was given, in admissions.” (L.A. Times, 9-28-11)
That’s Los Angeles Times double talk. If no preference is given, then what’s the point?
“Proposition 209, passed by voters in 1996, banned affirmative action in public university admissions. The current bill would not violate that ban. Instead it would permit schools to consider things such as ethnicity, much as they do extracurricular activities, when weighing candidates.” (L.A. Times, 9-28-11)
In other words, it’s affirmative action by another name. And then the politically correct students get furious with White taxpayers who do not want to pay for this sort of thing. Such students cannot understand it.
I worked for Porp 209. It is a total failure for 2 reasons:
(1). There is no enforcement provision to Prop 209.
(2). Federal law that mandates racial discrimination against Whites anywhere and everywhere supersedes state laws like Prop 209.
Prop 209 has not made a bit of difference to the discrimination against Whites practiced in California since 1968.
Goverment agencies simply ignored Prop 209 and just went on hiring only non Whites.
The universities and colleges got around Prop 209 by giving more weight to the “poor, poor pitiful me” essay than SAT scores and GPAs.
Whether the admissions people called it racial preference or essays instead of grades and SATs, the result was the same.
There are far, far fewer Whites in California colleges and universities now than when Prop 209 was passed.
Why?
Because Prop 209 was never enforced.
What are the demographics of Cal? Of Stanford?
Prices shows the disparity within American society considering that 2% of rich Jews believe they’re part of the White majority.
It is estimated that there are 450 billionaires and 3,000,000 millionaires in United States (more than 60% are Jewish) as per 2008. The net worth of all households in US (population aound 300 million) as per June 30, 2008 – was US$56 trillion. The 450 billionaires are worth US$1 trillion, while 3,000,000 millionairs are worth US$11 trillion – which comes to one percent of US population owning more than 21 per cent of countries resorces.
Most of these billionaires and millionaires have accumulated their wealth by managing fellow Americans’ money or looting the resources of under-develope nations – mostly Muslims.
On Global level – Americans are less than 6 percent of world population – but consumes more than 40 percent of world’s resources and produce more than 50 percent of world’s garbage.

I wonder what race the girl who is a gender and women’s studies major is? It wouldn’t surprise me if she is White. I had an English professor, who I think is White, criticize White males and glorify all other races as if they were victims. We were studying English and Japanese American history. We had to read a book about Manzanar, the detention center for Japanese Americans during WW2. Well, a year later, on my own, I learned about the Japanese human experimentation facilities like Unit 731, during WW2. We never learned about that in class. It was just glorify all other races and put down Whites.
Yep, the Jews are good at dividing and conquering. I can’t honestly say that I care about these stupid White girls that have sex with anything that is not White and at the same time are obsessed with their White Aryan beauty.
As far as I’m concerned, these bake sale students are practicing nothing more than custom of free expression, that was historically supposed to be the privilege of University life. Shoot it isn’t the same as students engaging in sword fights to settle some issue. The protesting by the administration and students, only goes to show the cowardice, duplicity, and politics involved in modern university life.
@mari: Thank you Mari, for bringing up the fact that that Federal Law superceeds State laws like Prop. 209. I wonder how many people even get it?

There IS enforcement of Prop 209. The Pacific Legal Foundation has done a yeoman’s job enforcing this proposition and won many important cases against those who refuse to honor the provisions of 209.
From the moment of Proposition 209’s enactment by voters in 1996, up to the present, Pacific Legal Foundation has been the primary defender and enforcer of the initiative in court. Because the attorney general’s office has not brought a single action to enforce the initiative, it has fallen on PLF – acting as a private attorney general defending equal rights and the public interest – to challenge the many government entities that have been recalcitrant in bringing their policies and ordinances in line with the law. Because there are still government entities that refuse to abide by Proposition 209’s mandate to end race- and sex-based discrimination, PLF continues to litigate to enforce Proposition 209’s guarantee of equal rights and equal opportunity.
SACRAMENTO, CA; December 8, 2010:
San Francisco-based Federal Judge Samuel Conti today dismissed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Proposition 209, the voter-enacted provision of the California Constitution that prohibits preferences and discrimination by race or sex in public education, contracting, and public employment.
Other cases the PLF has won:
Hi-Voltage Wire Works, Inc. v. City of San Jose, 24 Cal. 4th 537 (2000) –
This landmark Pacific Legal Foundation case was ‘the most important civil rights dispute in many years to reach [California’s] high court,’ The Associated Press reported. In its first interpretation of the scope of Proposition 209 – and a decision binding on every public-sector entity in the state – the California Supreme Court struck down San Jose’s requirement that bidders for city public works contracts either meet quotas in hiring subcontractors or undertake special recruitment aimed at minorities and women.
And:
C&C Construction, Inc. v. Sacramento Municipal Utility District, 122 Cal. App. 4th 284 (2004) –
PLF successfully challenged a policy of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District that gave preferences to minority-owned contractors by calculating their bids as being 5 percent lower than what they actually were. The appellate court gave a narrow interpretation to the federal-funding exception.
Connerly v. State Personnel Board, 92 Cal. App. 4th 16 (2001) –
The Third District Court of Appeal struck down race preferences in hiring by California state government and California community colleges, and race preferences in contracting by the state Lottery and the state Treasurer’s office. Pacific Legal Foundation’s victory enforced Proposition 209’s safeguards against discrimination. The three-judge panel unanimously voided legal schemes requiring race- based ‘goals and timetables’ for hiring minorities and women at the community colleges and in the state civil service workforce generally.
Neighborhood Schools for Our Kids v. Capistrano Unified School District –
The Orange County Superior Court ruled that the Capistrano Unified School District violated Proposition 209 by using race to create new attendance boundaries for district high schools and middle schools. The school district settled the case.
American Civil Rights Foundation v. Oakland and the Port of Oakland –
Oakland International Airport maintains a 17.9 percent MBE goal in its concessions program. PLF challenged the program. During discovery, the Port announced that it was putting into place a race neutral program.

@Rehmat: What percentage of the wealth do the unelected Kings of Arabia hold, including their families?
@Abe Goldstein
You typed:
@Rehmat: What percentage of the wealth do the unelected Kings of Arabia hold, including their families?
So you want us to think of Jews in USA the same way Arabs think of their Royals??? Kings? Royalty? The Chosen??? Is that the logic behind your idiotic remark?
@ABC:
Exactly. Republicans don’t seem to realize that it’s their very own “free” market policies that support this kind of anything goes atmosphere where one group attempts to curry all the special favors it can, because, why not? After all, why hire American workers when you can make slaves of the Chinese? Why pay taxes when you can jump through legal loopholes and hide your money overseas? Why demand that the ultra rich pay their fair share when you can just dump the full financial weight of this entire country on the backs of the working class? Hey Republicans, these non whites are just following the example you’ve set. Oh what a tangled web we weave……
@ABC + Fenria
Free market doesn’t mean Whites picking up the tab for non-whites.. What socialists fail to understand is that vast majority of Whites are perfectly capable of pulling their own weight.. White resentment comes from having our hands tied behind our backs and expected to compete against everyone else with a smile on our face.. Do you know any Whites petitioning NBA to have more White players on any of the teams??? Exactly! Socialism is in large part to blame why we are in this mess to begin with.. As more socialist America becomes the more multiculturalism settles in…
“Gender Studies” = homosexual/lesbian networking. “Women’s Studies” = Lesbian networking. I can give an approximation of the race situation at UCSB: looks to be about 40% white, 60% Jew + Asian + Latino + Black.
Apologies for being unhip, but I never figured out who the hell are ‘trans-gender’ individuals. Are they supposed to pack 2 different sets of “plumbing”, or are simply reluctant to declare a single definitive sex ?
@ABC:
So true.
@mari:
Democracy in action…The reason Big Brother needs democracy is so that he can change the rules whenever he needs to…loopholes etc.
If all else fails, he can appeal directly to the voters with a media add campaign and persuade them to vote in his interest. example…”Vote for so and so!” is all that is needed for people in a hypnotic trance. In a Democratic system, the idiot vote always out-weighs the intelligent vote, simply because most people are idiots when it comes to politics. They can’t see that “democrat” and “republican” are merely the two faces of the same entity…Big Brother!
Affirmative action discriminates against those blacks who are in the most dire need (those it claims to help) by selecting from only well-born blacks. ie. those whose family structures were stable eneugh that the kids finished school in the first place. The school drop-outs are thus screened out from even applying for the jobs.
It is just another poison lolli-pop Big Brother hands out occasionally to keep the younger siblings occupied while he rapes the mother.
@Rehmat: I’d say that the Middle East in general provides 90% of the world’s garbage when it comes to the two-legged variety.
@Facio Libre: I was critiquing the overconcentration of wealth his unelected King holds, not the earned wealth of American Jews, white men like me and you.
These are some very courageous students, I admire them. I hope they don’t pay a price for their integrity. I think things like this accomplish a great deal. The media have covered it and it makes people think about the issue.
This was my favorite quote: “It’s … forcing people into a defensive position instead of an honest place of listening.”
Imagine being made to feel defensive! Isn’t that what these very same professors and teachers do to young, often underage children all the time in captive classrooms?
also important to note is that affirmative action and also minimum pay laws hurt many of those very minority groups they are deemed to help. egalitarianism hurts everybody by devaluing merit. minimum pay laws sideline the least productive of the community, who end up on welfare or in crime.

“..earned wealth of American Jews!!!” Are you talking about the “earned” bonuses from taxpayer money given to the Jewish Banksters from the too big to fail Bankster bailouts schemes??
Are you kidding me???
You’re not one of us s#%tstain/bloodstained..
@Trenchant:
These degenerative laws DO help Big Brother (at least till the whole system comes crashing down) Every time the worker loses, the boss wins…for every action, an equal and opposite reaction
This is why politicians want EVERYONE to vote. The larger the mob, the easier they are to control/lead. when a worker is paid a “minimum wage” as you say, many people can’t afford to start a small business, and the poor bastard that would have had at least SOME income now has none. Thus ends up as a burden to tax-payers…but this gives the wily politican another “victim” he can promise to “help” if only he is elected.
It reminds me of a cop telling a suspect he wants to help him.
B. Kote @ Rehmat: LOL! You POWN’d him.
@Henry Baxley:
Yeah, black teenage employment was pretty well equal to white in the days when their pay could be set much lower to match productivity. Their so-called leaders did most blacks a disservice by insisting on equal pay.
Whites should also have marshmallow toppings on their cupcakes…required as as a condition for consumption. They could also be roasted over a fire to symbolize payback for centuries of Oppression of the Oppressed. Burn baby burn.
Bon of Babble
Thank you for mentioning PLF. It is a good resource for Whites to know about. It is one organization to which Whites should donate.
W I am very familiar with PLF. I knew some of their attorneys when they were still in San Francisco.
My problem with PLF is that as far as I know, it has never pursued a case for individual Whites who have been discriminated against in employment and college admissions.
That is why I believe that PLF can’t help most Whites. It is all very well to help wealthy White contractors, but until there is some organization that will take on the cases of individual Whites who have been dsicriminated against in jobs and college admissions I don’t have any hope for our future.
“I can’t honestly say that I care about these stupid White girls that have sex with anything that is not White and at the same time are obsessed with their White Aryan beauty”
Sexist comments like this one, and references to “dirty Jews” seriously mar this website. Professor MacDonald, I am very surprised that you allow them. I am hesitant to join the conversation here because of such commentary although I have been reading this site for a while.
