Get into Twitter. Be Depressed.

They always say it’s darkest before the dawn, but I must admit to being really depressed by all that’s happened lately on the immigration front. I think it’s Twitter’s fault. For example, a recent tweet linked to a statement by Sen. Jeff Sessions that is a horrifying summary of the tsunami from abroad that our hostile elites are inflicting on us.

“The Wall Street Journal confirmed today that the President is planning to issue a massive unilateral executive amnesty after the election.

“In its report, the WSJ certifies that this executive amnesty would provide work permits for illegal immigrants—taking jobs directly from struggling Americans.

“Based on the USCIS contract bid and statements from USCIS employees, we know this executive immigration order is likely to be broader in scope than anyone has imagined.

“Earlier this week, President Obama’s former head of Homeland Security revealed that she overrode resistance from administration lawyers and law enforcement agents in implementing the President’s earlier unlawful amnesty and work authorization program for illegal immigrants 30 and under. This was an open admission by one of the most senior people in government of violating one’s oath of office in order to accomplish a nakedly political aim.

“The President is assuming for himself the sole and absolute power to decide who can enter, work, live, and claim benefits in the United States. He has exempted virtually every group in the world from America’s immigration laws: people who enter before a certain age, people related to people who enter before a certain age, adults traveling with minors, minors traveling with adults, illegal immigrants who are not convicted of serious crimes, illegal workers who are convicted of serious crimes but not enough serious crimes, almost anyone who shows up the border and demands asylum, the millions who overstay their visas, and, as was recently exposed, illegal immigrants with serious criminal histories. The list continues to grow.

“A nation creates borders and laws to protect its own citizens. What about their needs? (“The World Has Been Turned Upside Down“; My emphasis)

This is a typical example from my Twitter feed, and it doesn’t even deal with legal immigration. For someone like me who grew up in the 1950s in an all-White community and assumed that the US would always stay that way (except continue to be more prosperous economically), the world has indeed been completely turned upside down. The obscene alliance between the anti-White left, non-White ethnic activists, and big business continues to rack up victory after victory. Even a Republican landslide on Tuesday will seemingly not prevent an obviously unconstitutional unilateral amnesty (or perhaps lead to a Republican-led amnesty in Congress), no matter what  most Americans and the great majority of Whites want.

I like Twitter because you can choose which tweets to receive, from mainstream newspapers and establishment conservatives (or liberals, for that matter), to the various outlets of the alternative right. My problem is that the sites I subscribe to tweet a steady stream of truly depressing news on immigration (e.g., @vdare@MarkSKrikorian@RoyBeck_NUSA) and other things. Reading Sessions’ comment didn’t really inform me of anything I hadn’t heard from a variety of sites, but it’s a great summary.

Then I also get news stressing issues like Black on White crime and Black dysfunction (@AmRenaissance@sbpdl). And all the bad news on Muslims in the West, from rape gangs in the UK to terrorism, and the war on Whites (@HBDBibliography@ProNorden [both of these also have a lot of relevant science]; @society_strong; @genophilia).

So if you find yourself being happy about how things are going, subscribe to my Twitter feed to get a little reality check: @TOOEdit.  Not recommended for those with suicidal tendencies.

Parenthetically, it’s interesting that  good advice for people who want to be happy would be to subscribe to the feeds from Jewish public intellectuals like @JeffreyGoldberg. (My comment on Goldberg’s tweet quoting Naftali Bennett saying that the PM of Israel is “the leader of the whole Jewish world” was blocked. I wondered what such sentiments meant for the issue of Jewish loyalty).

And then there’s also  @jonathanchait@davidfrum, and @krauthammer@sapinker. Although they may be unhappy at times about US policy toward Israel, they  never complain about immigration and they have a generally upbeat perspective on how things are going in the US (@KausMickey on immigration is an exception). Although people like Jonathan Chait continue to see the US as in need of radical change of the leftist variety, I never get the feeling that they are personally unhappy. They love to reference debates in the big media where Jews are on all sides (e.g., Jonathan Chait on David Brooks versus Cass Sunstein). Life is good for our new elite perched in the mainstream elite media; the elite that cannot tell its name.

Of course, it’s not all bad news. As noted often on TOO, the revolution will begin in Europe. Today I tweeted a link to a wonderful article on how Denmark is standing up to the Muslim invasion (“In Denmark, once-liberal immigration policies have forced huge governmental change and zero tolerance for Muslim immigrants intent on turning Denmark into an Islamic welfare haven”). Yesterday I tweeted an excellent movie review by @gregnhood  on @RadixJournal. It’s encouraging to see so many great young writers to are willing to stand up for their people.  And of course, I subscribe to people like @Steve_Sailer and @DerbQOTD where the news is usually bad and even if I don’t agree with all their views. But at least I have the feeling that smart people are on our side in the struggle, so that helps a little.

But if you follow @TOOEdit, you will see that I post links to all of the articles on TOO, and I often comment on and retweet the mainly depressing news from other sites. Misery loves company.
