Thomas Dalton’s current TOO article “Environment, Immigration, and Population Reduction“ reflects an intellectual movement that was for some time centered around the academic journal Population and Environment, especially when it was edited by Virginia Abernethy and later by me. The basic idea is that in the long run the human population will have to be scaled back in order to come into line with Earth’s carrying capacity.
An immediate implication of this perspective is that countries like the United States would have to institute an immigration moratorium. As things stand now, all predictions are for a massive increase in US population by 2050, almost entirely due to immigration. The figure accompanying the article, from a paper by two academics, David Pimentel of Cornell and Mario Giampiettro of the University of Rome, projects a US population of 520 million by 2050 if current increases of 1.1% per year are maintained.
Recently Lindsey Grant, another major figure in this movement, has distributed a new paper on this topic. He notes that the population restriction movement gained some traction in the 1970s but declined thereafter, and that recently the US State Department commented that “The U.S. does not endorse population ‘stabilization’ or ‘control.’” There is absolutely no discussion of reduction of legal immigration despite high levels of unemployment and wages that have been stagnant for a generation. Instead, as the LA Times reports today, the Obama administration and its Congressional allies are gearing up to legalize illegal immigrants, a policy that will hugely inflate US population as these people bring their relatives here.
Grant also points to economic realities: “The past 35 years have been a period of soaring incomes for the wealthy, stagnant hourly wages for most people, income differentials rising to levels that a humane observer would call obscene.” Rising commodity prices of the last few years are a harbinger of scarcity. Unemployment is increasing: “To keep up with population growth in those two years, we should have added about 1.2 million jobs, rather than losing nearly nine million. The “good” months are those when the job loss slows down. January was a ‘good’ month; only 22,000 jobs disappeared. What kind of recovery is that?” (For February, the loss was 36,000, a report that was greeted as encouraging by the Obama administration.) On the basis of US Labor Department statistics, he points out that the real unemployment level is 16.8 percent of the labor force, and much higher for minorities and youth.
One could say much else about the economic irrationality of current immigration policy. In attempting to explain why there are no attempts to have a population policy, he points to five reasons:
First, the national addiction to growth and the dream of rising prosperity. Second, the political fears of alienating Hispanic voters, business, and their allies by tackling immigration levels. Third, the increased assertiveness of interest groups that oppose governmental population policies on principle (such as the Vatican) or, like the feminists at Cairo, do not want population policy advocates diverting attention from their priorities, or who oppose governmental involvement in women’s decisions about child bearing. Fourth, the defection of most of the U.S. environmental movement from population advocacy, for fear of losing support from the people I have just described, or from immigration advocates. Fifth, the present confrontational climate in Washington, which dictates that politicians avoid any positions that might lose votes.
I think this is basically right. A population policy that included an immigration moratorium flies in the face powerful ethnic and economic interests, as well as a deeply embedded view of perpetual expansion that is very common across the political spectrum.
Of course, I would add a prominent role for Jewish ethnic interests in leading and funding the pro-immigration movement as well as providing support for immigration among media and academic elites. (It’s amazing that it’s okay to mention Catholics, Latinos, feminists and business interests but would never mention the role of Jewish ethnic interests.) A notorious example related to environmental and population policy is David Gelbaum’s $100 million donation to the Sierra Club on condition that they not oppose immigration. As Gelbaum famously said to the president of the Sierra Club, “”I did tell [Sierra Club President] Carl Pope in 1994 or 1995 that if they ever came out anti-immigration, they would never get a dollar from me.”
It’s interesting that the global warming hysteria did manage to recruit the backing of elites in government and business without offending the coalition of interests promoting a head-in-the-sands policy on population. (Headline you won’t see: Al Gore Proposes Immigration Moratorium To Combat Global Warming.) After all, one could argue that a good way for the US to reduce greenhouse gas emissions would be to lower its population, especially since, as Dalton points out, the US has such a large ecological footprint. Immigrants coming to the US will typically have a larger footprint than if they had stayed at home, and, as Virginia Abernethy has point out many times, this increase in prosperity is typically accompanied by increased fertility — Life is good compared to what you grew up with. Have babies. At present, Latino fertility is 50% higher than White, non-Latino fertility.
Nevertheless, global warming became a pillar of the left — even though the data supporting it are iffy at best and even though dealing with global warming requires the same sort of long range planning and drastic social changes also entailed by taking carrying capacity seriously. All told, it’s a nice comment on where the power is.
As a result, as things stand now, in 2050, not only will the US have a minority White population, it will have a population that is well beyond sustainability. Ethnic conflict will increase in multicultural, White-minority America even in the absence of sustainability issues. But the conflict will be even more intense as resources diminish and humans are forced to find ways to reduce population. As always, conflict will center around ethnic identities. It’s not going to be pretty.

Getting Solzhenitsyn’s book published is a positive thing but if people wish to fund something it would be better to fund a local cable access channel. This channel could then share programming and costs for production with a network of cable access channels around the nation and we’d have our own White network to get the word out about all of these issues. Then we could address the issue of the book getting published.
Cable access channels could also influence state governments to act against the federal government regarding welfare, war for israel, aid to Israel and Jewish control.
The centralized government is easy for jews to control but it would be hard to control states if we all rebelled. As the European Christian population becomes a minority the distribution with the annual grades will not be uniform. Whites will be disproportionately represented in the older classes. When Whites start talking about overpopulation, I get very nervous, because the end result is always that Whites (who tend to be responsible) have less children, while the third worlders (who tend to be irresponsible) continue to reproduce without limit. Whites seem to think they are doing Mother Earth a favor by having small families. I think this is a terrible, tragic mistake bordering on suicidal insanity.
Let me start by saying that everyone is probably agreed that proposals such as halting immigration, evicting illegals and paying non-Whites to leave are excellent ideas. Also, naturally the US and the earth has a limited human carrying capacity.
Going back a bit, world overpopulation gained popularity with (Jewish) Paul Erhlich’s work, “the Population Bomb” in the 1970s. At the time, Erhlich “proved” that mankind would face increasing shortages of resources and famines in the coming decades future, because the earth was nearing its carrying capacity. This idea was probably a significant one in reducing White fertility, and was thus a victory over the goy in a sense. My mother, who had 7 children, faced a great deal of scorn for being an irresponsible “breeder” (though she was too hard-headed to take much notice).
Fast forward 40 years later, and we do not see Erhlich’s predictions having come true yet. Food prices are very low, much lower than the 1970s when adjusted for inflation. World famines have decreased significantly, and world poverty has dropped precipitously. “World Bank calculations show that using a poverty line of $US 1.25 per day, between 1981 and 2005 the percent of the world’s population living in poverty decreased from to 51.8 to 25.2. Using a poverty rate of $2.50 per day, the decrease was from 74.6 per cent of the world’s population to 56.6 per cent”. Mineral and energy sources have not been depleted, in fact proven reserves have skyrocketed due to technological improvements in exploration. This suggests that we are not reaching carrying capacity yet. There are studies that indicate that a reasonable expectation for the earth’s carrying capacity is 15B or so.
However, in the meantime, Whites are a dwindling population, accounting for something like 5% of the world’s children, and dropping fast. Many European nations have White birth rates approaching 1 child per woman, meaning the population halves itself each generation. I would submit that the biggest problem facing Whites is not overpopulation, but racial UNDERpopulation. If the earth should have less people, let that come at the cost of other races. Proposals suggesting Whites be sterilized are best addressed with straitjackets and rubber walls, because they are pathologically foolhardy. Obviously the third-worlders are going to continue having as many children as possible. The solution for Whites is to have more children, not less, as a critical survival strategy.
Proposals to limit the population of the US also do not take into account geopolitical concerns. With a high average IQ, we can expect that the Chinese will in the coming decades achieve a standard of living resembling Taiwan’s, which is about a per capita income half of the US. This suggests that China’s GDP will overtake the US by a wide margin in the future, as it actually does take people to produce wealth. Population and GDP underlie a nation’s influence and military capacity. International relations are normally an arena where Might makes Right, though for the past 50 years, this has largely been negated by the Pax Americana established by the US economic and military dominance. Allowing the US to fall to a diminished position on the world stage is very risky. If the Chinese replace the US in this position, will they be conscientious stewards in our “global village”, looking out for US interests? This is quite dubious. Without a sufficiently large population of Whites, the US is simply another Canada, with very little power to influence international events. That is a dangerous proposition in a world with weapons of mass destruction.
If by some miracle we had an honest labor movement again in the United States—they would be screaming for legal immigration to be stopped until the unemployment rate went below at least 5%.
Regardless of how you feel about race, an honest union man should be looking out for his members, and the community in general. Importing legally at least a Million and a Half foreign nationals every year isn’t doing anything for un-employed or under-employed Americans!

But overpopulation obviously has a lot more ramifications than merely increasing the rate of genetic mutation in man. Overpopulation is itself enabled and in a sense caused by these advances in agricultural technique, since it would not be a problem without these so-called advances. This is a point to ponder for those who think that technology is merely a neutral tool that can used or not at man’s pleasure, with no implications for culture or genetics. In reality, all technologies have side effects. Like genetic mutations, most of these side effects are bad, and only a few of them can be foreseen. The agricultural technicians of today have still not grasped this point, and continue trying to make “improvements” to their techniques in order to produce still more food which in the long run will only enable a further population expansion. Still less did the Stone Age tribesmen realize what would come from their invention of agriculture. The geometric increase in human populations that has resulted is an ecological catastrophe, a disaster for the planet.
People would like to ignore or dismiss the problems inherent to the global technological system, childishly thinking that they can separate the good effects of technology from the bad. The content of Adwarf’s comments in less interesting than the form. The content is incidental, the form is not, as the latter is designed to sow confusion, despair and guilt, per the Jewish norm. One little qualification, however. In any population, there is a natural balance between quality and quantity. The higher its quality, the more people can be supported by its technology under physically and psychologically acceptable conditions.
Where the utility of a population is defined as the greatest good for the greatest number (population x average quality of life), the optimum population is that which maximizes its overall utility under hard environmental constraints. To properly solve such optimization problems on any scale, it is necessary to effect an equilibrium that is characterized by a stationary (maximal) utility function.
On the way up to that equilibrium, elevations in quality must exceed elevations in quantity. On the other hand, approaching such an equilibrium from above (as we are discussing here) requires that quantitative reduction be accompanied by an elevation of average quality, especially cognitive capacity.
This implies that accelerating reproduction even among ordinary Whites is a losing long-term strategy, at least in a homogeneous White population. It can be a winning strategy only in the event of emergency, e.g., conflict between competing populations, in which case its advantage resides in producing cannon fodder, close-combat infantrymen, who are costly in resources and must eventually be expended without replacement en route to social optimization.
Less capable Whites who choose high-r breeding strategies should remember, if they are capable of doing so, that in the end, social optimization will require that the density of their genes in the White genome be lowered to accommodate those of more capable individuals who are able to cognitively support, maintain, and extend the high technology required for social optimization.
In other words, the need to quantitatively regulate human population, insofar as it extends even to Whites, is ultimately dysgenic without a parallel attempt to control quality. At the very least, this means that high-r breeding, if practiced at all, should be reserved for the most (intellectually and physically) capable members of the group.
Unfortunately, mere economic pressure has never been enough to accomplish this, and is even less likely to do so under current conditions. Most of us, I included, like to believe that somewhere way down deep, Whites have an inherent appreciation for group utility that will enable us to achieve a sustainable, near-optimum society without excessive coercion.

This fact is kept out of the MSM just like many others because the threat of an “oil shortage” is merely another tool that can be used against the masses to create concern and in some cases fear. And it’s not just that there are certain problems that can only be solved on a global basis, but also the continued expansion of the technological system itself will ultimately demand the harnessing of resources on such a basis. A task such as a Mars mission or a lunar base is way too large to be financed by an individual or any single corporation, and will probably require the pooling of resources of several nations. And this is a trend. Technical systems as they grow become ever larger and more complex. It’s very clear that some necessary technological tasks of the near future could well require the pooled resources of the entire planet. Cleaning up the oceans or the atmosphere, the prevention of overpopulation, the control of the spread of diseases, and many more things that are necessitated by the expansion of global commerce are all examples of this. How to achieve it without some kind of global gov’t? A laissez-faire, libertarian approach simply won’t work for problems of this size. I conclude that global gov’t will be an inevitable result of the expansion of the global technological system. The only alternative will be to accept ecological catastrophe.

Jupiter, yes, I know far far worse.. not only by overpopulation but when the elite is non-white- I know of no nonwhite culture that seriously tries to preserve the environment.

Environmentalism did not find favor in communism because communism favored ingroup success above everything else. That sounds very unlikely. Ehrlich was on the FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform) board of advisors up to 2003, at a time when FAIR favored a timeout to all immigration. He then moved on to be a founding member of Coalition for United States Population Stabilization (CUSPS), which advocated net immigration reducation to near zero (200,000 legal immigrants per year). He’s currently a primary benefactor of Optimum Population Trust, a UK organization dedicated to zero population growth and zero net immigration into the UK.

I don’t see any reason to think secession/partition would entail racial conflict between non-whites. Far and away the greatest risk of violence comes from your “NATIVE BORN WHITE AMERICAN” racialists/nationalists who, against all logic, against all reason, against every practical consideration, remain wedded to the idea (read: fantasy) of “taking back every square inch” of America; followed by African-Americans (and related negroids) who one would expect to resist attempts to separate them.

However, the AGW crowd managed to get the current direction of that change ass-backwards, to the extent that if AGW were factual, then the current extremely cold winter from which the entire northern hemisphere is now only beginning to exit, and which has not been offset by any record heat wave in the southern hemisphere, and which cannot be explained by any disruption of the Atlantic thermohaline circulation or other diversionary claptrap, would blatantly violate the laws of thermodynamics.

Insults are not necessary for this debate and if we are going to take a rational approach to climate change decriptions such as “ass-backwards” and “piggish and deceitful ethnie” are the wrong approach. Remarks like these foster ill will and are not appropriate for scholarly investigation.
When considering climate change it is necessary to consider overall whether patterns, not just regional, daily, or seasonal variations.

Eurodele I do not know enough about “Cap and Trade” to either support it or not. I am sure it is a system that can easily be abused and I remain skeptical of it.
