Jared Taylor, White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century (Oakton, Va.: New Century Books, 2011)
Some time in late 1992 or early 1993, a friend mentioned he was reading Jared Taylor’s new book Paved With Good Intentions. He praised the book for its solid debunking of the racism-made-me-do-it “root cause” of sociopathic Black behavior. It seemed too good to be true. In the back of my mind during our brief conversation I wondered: Jared Who?
The next day I walked a few blocks from my office near the White House and purchased a copy of Paved With Good Intentions at Sidney Kramer Books — the premiere bookstore that catered to D.C.-based policy wonks until it went out of business in the late 1990s. Taylor’s book was prominently displayed as a new release. This well-articulated, iconoclastic view of race relations — a rare surprise from a commercial publisher — remains unsurpassed in dissecting liberal shibboleths on race, civil rights, crime, and affirmative action.
Taylor’s book astutely summarized the problems associated with “diverse” urban districts, which any one familiar with our nation’s capital would acknowledge: higher crime rates, dangerous, underperforming public schools, widespread loitering, the stress and strain of working elbow-to-elbow with affirmative action hires (carrying the workload of incompetent co-workers), and the daily toll of exhausting commutes (50–60 miles one way) in order to reap the benefits of good schools, low crime, affordable homes, and pleasant neighbors.
Two personal vivid examples come to mind: overhearing two young Black women on my commute home candidly brag about how little work they accomplished in the office all day and noticing the empty countertops at the McDonald’s a few blocks from the White House, across from the New Executive Office Building (no napkins, no condiments, no straws, no ketchup, no coffee creamer, no utensils — nothing), which prevented indigent Blacks from hauling off common fast-food supplements. These real-life encounters underscored Taylor’s well-documented pitfalls of “diversity.”
Paved With Good Intentions generated a good deal of publicity. The author appeared on several talk radio programs, including the popular David Brudnoy show. Discussing race relations on CNN’s “Crossfire,” guest host Bob Beckel accused Taylor of “inflammatory conclusions” for mentioning the “disturbing trend” of Black jurors who refused to convict Black defendants. Journalists conveniently ignored racially biased jury verdicts when the jurors were Black, such as the “not guilty” verdict in the O.J. Simpson trial, while the media saturated the airwaves with sensationalized coverage when cops were found “not guilty” of police brutality charges by White juries.
Taylor’s latest book White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century is a sequel of sorts to Paved With Good Intentions. Readers with high blood pressure are warned: consult with your physician or pharmacist before reading this book. The late Terry Anderson’s admonition to his radio listeners: ‘if you ain’t mad, you ain’t paying attention’ aptly applies to readers of White Identity.
Taylor scrutinizes the conventional platitudes of race relations with a cache of supporting evidence. The mantra that “diversity” is a source of “strength” is thoroughly debunked. In fact, a major theme of White Identity is that ethnically homogeneous societies, such as Japan and Iceland, are far more stable — less crime, more civic participation, and less internal strife and conflict — than ethnically diverse societies. Group competition contributes to more friction and discord in ethnically diverse societies.
Another major theme that Taylor hammers home is the lack of explicit racial consciousness on the part of Whites. This is arguably the cornerstone of Taylor’s latest work. As a group, unlike other racial or ethnic groups, Whites suffer from a unique disorder: ‘Group Identity Suppression Syndrome’ (GISS), which other races or ethnicities lack. Whites cluster together and prefer their own company in civic clubs, churches, pastimes and sporting events (e.g., NASCAR races), beach vacations, and other leisurely pursuits in ways in which other ethnic groups would more forthrightly embrace their kinship connection.
I remember the candid, well-lubricated reaction of a Pennsylvania businessman settling a bill at a resort bar on the Outer Banks and noting how pleasant it was to spend two weeks vacationing in an area with so few Blacks — bicycles and beach gear left unsecured and unbothered outside; not worrying about the prospect of random attacks during beach walks at night; teens free to roam without the perils of rapists and robbers; and the relative ease of making one’s way through a crowded but orderly supermarket standout in stark comparison to the urban violence of flash-mob thefts and assaults.
Large numbers of Whites live a surreal existence that largely insulates them from enduring the risks of urban violence. Even “integrated” communities, such as Columbia, Maryland, offer some escape for affluent Whites seeking a buffer from the disruptions of neighboring villages deemed “too diverse” for a safe family environment. Pockets of ethnic and racial clustering persist in areas believed to be thoroughly integrated; Whites continue to have closer associations with fellow Whites, Blacks with fellow Blacks, Asians with fellow Asians, etc.
The big difference is that ethnic and racial minorities are permitted to form racially conscious associations. Blacks in Government (BIG) is a prominent organization founded in the mid-1970s by Black civil service employees and offers national workshops to Black professionals in federal, state, and municipal jobs. Imagine the uproar if an organization (even if open to all races) titled Whites in Government existed. Such an organization would be deemed “racist” and unhealthy for a “diverse” society.
Nothing better illustrates the political dynamics of “implicit Whiteness” as the rise of the Tea Party. Rank and file Tea Partiers are overwhelmingly Caucasian (some 89 percent according to CBS News poll), which caught the attention of Alternet’s Rich Benjamin
The simmering movement is the Whitest phenomenon on the national scene, evident not just in the millions of Caucasians committed to its cause, but in the bedrock beliefs stirring its anti-government contempt.
How fitting, therefore, that Sarah Palin keynote the movement’s first organized confab. Neglected in all the fevered conversation around the movement’s meteoric rise, and Palin’s selection, is any useful reflection on what the cause and this figurehead stand for: White racial resentment. Packed beneath her beehive is a spitfire brew of optimistic, yet aggrieved, Whiteness. Palin embodies a bizarre, sometimes alluring, combination of triumph and complaint that many Caucasian Tea Partiers identify with through and through.
Deciphering the racial codes on the movement’s ubiquitous placards does not require a doctorate in semiotics. One popular sign shows the president’s face and a caption: “Undocumented worker.” Another combines Obama’s image with this caption: “The Zoo Has an African Lion and the White House Has a Lyin’ African!”
The only people who are not supposed to recognize their own group interests are Whites organized and drawn together implicitly as Whites for their common interests and endeavors. The long-term implications of this are staggering. How many more majority-White ruled countries, like Rhodesia and South Africa, will expire as a result?
Taylor contemplates America’s future in a deliberative passage:
This book will have been a success if at least a few readers become open to the possibility that the following statements are true: People of all races generally prefer the company of people like themselves. Racial diversity is a source of conflict, not strength. Non-Whites, especially Blacks and Hispanics, nurture a strong sense of racial pride and solidarity. Whites have little sense of racial solidarity, and most Whites strongly condemn any signs of it. Immigration from non-European countries is changing the United States in profound ways, many of which Whites find disagreeable. To the extent that these statements are true, they have serious implications both for the country as a whole and for Whites as a group.
A major difference between the twenty-year publication gap of Paved With Good Intentions and White Identity is the grip of political correctness and censorship that besieges major publishers. Two publicists attempted to place Taylor’s manuscript with numerous publishing houses — some 30 or 40 publishers rejected the manuscript — and couldn’t find a single publisher that would publish it. If White Identity had been a ‘Critical Race Theory’ study that applauded “diversity” and criticized White “racism,” major publishers or certainly any number of university presses would have published Taylor’s manuscript. However, for an author whose work was published by a reputable, commercial publisher and nearly 20 years later this same author could not find a publisher for a well-written sequel speaks volumes about bias and openness in the publishing field. There’s no question that had the manuscript’s orientation to race been more conventional, it would have easily been accepted by a major publisher.
Publishers are rejecting well-written manuscripts, supported with hundreds of endnotes, that 50 years ago would have been uncommon. If we lived in an openly honest and free society, considering the incisive analysis and quality of writing that defines White Identity, Random House, Simon and Schuster, or Doubleday would have out bid each other to secure the publishing rights of Taylor’s book. Unfortunately we no longer live in such a society.

Facing the Future as a Minority
Fantastic review. The book sounds great. It is such a shame about publishers refusing good books. I hope soon all these books will be available on Kindle and other downloadable platforms, so the stranglehold of publishers broken.
This is the problem I have with Jared Taylor’s “let’s not criticize Jews” approach. The assumption seems to be that by not criticizing Jews he can more easily be perceived as “mainstream” and have access to media outlets and distribution channels that others cannot. Yet he faces just as much opposition in things like organizing conferences and getting books published as any other WN. What is he gaining by not talking about the root of our problems (and therefore precluding even the possibility of talking about potential solutions)?
I’m sure there’s some merit to this book for the uninitiated, but who will even hear about it other than people already leaning towards racialism? He might as well have thrown some discussion of Jews in there (if indeed he is trying to be a gateway and not a gatekeeper).
I see Jared Taylor as the other side of a David Duke. Duke has increasingly pointed to Zionists/Jews as the source of our problems, while Taylor has ignored that angle on focused elsewhere. This obviously doesn’t protect Taylor from Jewish terrorism (such as the conference death threats) but it does reach people that would otherwise be immediately turned off by the word “Jew.”
Although with “blow ups” like Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, and Mark Sanchez in the popular culture, the internet increasingly making the Jewish media irrelevant, and the ever increasing atrocities of Israel and the hypocritical support of Jews in the US and Europe becoming harder to ignore, that taboo is quickly eroding.
The fact that Taylor never mentions Jews, yet is still attacked by them, shows that he’s saying something they don’t want to be said. The fact that AMREN was cancelled by threats of terrorism from Jews is enough of a recommendation for me.

Yes, proponents of multiculturalism know almost nothing about culture; not their own heritage nor about any other heritage or high culture. They just like to say the words.
When debating such matters with PC-people I’m often astounded by their ridiculously low level education. They cannot name even one classic work from, say, ancient Persia, China etc., or describe any significant living or dead religion in broad general strokes. But, somehow, they do know that they like it — or, at least, they like to say that they do.
Racism is not limited to Jews only. The West adopted the Jewish racism when it adopted Christianity – with the New Testament containg four books from the Jewish Bible (OT) to make it “inspired by God”.

This is what I’ve been talking about, we used to be able to say anything at the Tennessean forum, just a few short years ago. Now jews publish it and you literally cannot say anything about race unless you are all for diversity and think non White races hung the moon.

The Tennessean forum is chock full of low brow meaningless comments by people who don’t have a clue and who have nothing intelligent to say about the topic. I’m certain that any intelligent informed comments are deleted by the almighty “site staff”. They allow attacks upon White people but none about other races.
Why doesn’t Taylor and other like-minded people start a publishing house, or choose one, and get successful White writers to leave the jew publishers and boycott them. Just do something. Why not create a White Club of publishers, journalists, actors, screenwriters, politicians etc and openly be explicitly White and work on behalf of White interests?
Every time there is an action that is adverse to White people this club could be everywhere talking against it and giving support and information to White people to counter the nasty anti White propaganda.
As we can see, its not enough to write the facts with all the endnotes. I’m thrilled to have them and I’m grateful to Jared Taylor, but we have to do more. Join forces with right wing actors, with honest journalists, with publishers, religious leaders and fight back as a group of explicitly White Westerners.

Palin was perhaps a bit alluring in the beginning. However, the magic evaporated as soon as she began wearing her deep, undying, let-me-lick-your-hairy-toes love of all things Jewish, Zionist, and Israeli on her plaid woolen sleeve. The woman is a Trojan horse and a sycophant.

Sarah Palin is an American Christian Zionist like the overwhelming majority of white Americans. I believe her biggest fault to be plain ignorance like the rest of Christian Americans. This demonstrates a couple of points: 1) Islam isn’t the unified, monolithic threat that the self-serving Zionists and treasonous, warmongering Israel-firsters claim; 2) Islam isn’t the profoundly civilized be-all-and-end-all that Western Muslims and opportunistic Western leftists seek to portray.

This promises to be another lively thread. I know many people here have reservations about Jared Taylor because of his reluctance to criticize all things kosher. I am in full agreement on this point. However, we cannot overlook the contributions Taylor has made to our cause.
Several years back I printed out a copy of “The Color of Crime” and memorized several important facts. I find these come in handy when engaged in conversation with unenlightened whites. I recently had a friend swear up and down that blacks commit 90% of their violent crime against fellow African Americans. Au contraire, blacks choose white victims over fellow blacks when committing violent crime (45%-43%).

Or reading groups. How many would enjoy an evening dining with others and reading and discussing Mr. Taylor’s book? Or countless other books, s/a Which Way Western Man or Dr. MacDonald or whatever. One could read white interest books for years in such a club, just the existing ones. But who knows what would happen if one advertised that, the way people do on “meetups” and so on. I am convinced that just about every so called “conservative” organization is either an Israel front or started out honestly and then was taken over by Israel propagandists and lobbyists.
Good example is National Review. I started reding it in the 1970′s because it was the only periodical around that was against affirmative action. By 1995 however, it became just another Israel propaganda show claiming to be conservative.

Well what mechanism creates cool in America? The answer is pop-culture. But how is pop-culture created? It’s created through two forces. First organic trends pop-up from the masses. The media then takes these trends and popularizes them on a national level. Second, pop-culture comes from the top as well, since the masses are told what to think and what’s popular by the Hollywood media mechanism. The end game is a synthesis of the two as Hollywood takes organic trends from the masses, manipulates these trends to promote their liberal, multi-culturalist message, and then spits back these altered-propagand filled trends to the masses. For example, go pick up a sailing magazine, or a snowboard magazine or any magazine devoted to natural, cool, fun activities and you will find a liberal message. Stephen Colbert was just on the cover of OUTDOOR magazine for April 2011 as a recent example. The hollywood, leftist mechanism of cool has to be bypassed in order to get our organic message of white identity out to the public. This is best achieved by you-tube and majority white communities that can come together and decide what’s cool on an organic level without being dictated to by the Hollywood inculcation mechanism. 1) Speak up forthrightly when members of other demographics claim the right to name, label, define, or describe us. This is very powerful and is one of the things that always precedes the tribalization or re-tribalization of demographic groups. This is the opposite of fighting among ourselves about our identities, or solidarity, or unity. Examples are goyim, gentile, shiksa, cracker, honky, and racist. (Yes, racist is just a label.)

3) Speak up as much as possible in your white voice, e.g., “As a white American, I insist….”
4) Always speak up in a white-context. That is, instead of attacking The Jews, speak up about the need to end various harms to The Whites. Examples include denouncing religious taxes on food, blood diamonds, MGM (male genital mutilation), the white slave trade in Israel, and dual citizenship in America. Demand the death penalty for importing Ecstasy. Each of these subjects harms the diverse white Americans, and making these harms the basis for political action will smoke out one set of adversaries and put them in their usual passive-aggressive screaming mode.

I just got around to listening to the archive of hour #3 of the Political Cesspool from 5/14/11 yesterday, and James Edwards was interviewing Jared Taylor about his new book.
In the first 7 minutes of the interview, Taylor is trying to answer a question by Edwards that dealt with why he thought whites have somehow had their racial survival instincts turned off, because whites weren’t always so suicidally de-racinated as they are these days. Part of Taylor’s answer had him citing the old ‘from each, according to his means, to each, according to his needs’ slogan that anyone with a IQ over single digits and an education beyond the 7th grade automatically recognizes as having originated from Karl Marx and his fellow jewish Communists and Marxists. Apparently, Taylor was trying to say that whites lost their racial identity because they embraced Communism and Marxism, which, aside from nauseating, self-hating white liberals, is a baldfaced lie.
So, was that a huge gaffe on Taylor’s part, or was he trying to insinuate that Whites invented Communism in order to shift the blame away from the jews who’s demonic and murderous brains produced that horrible, bloody system of brutal totalitarianism and tyranny? Or, as another poster correctly pointed out – Taylor claims that he thinks jews are white, so is this how he rationalizes making an outrageously false comment like that?
Late in the hour, Edwards takes a call from a white woman named Lydia from Florida and this caller immediately challenged Taylor on his reluctance to either identify the enemy or allow discussion or mention of the enemy on his website. She referred to the enemy as the ‘Tears’, which I suppose is a reference to the biblical tale of the wheat and the tears, but it was clearly obvious who she was referring to. To his credit, after Lydia was off the air, Taylor did clarify who she was referring to and the jew word did fall from his mouth.
Over all, the interview is a good listen and I’d recommend it to anyone who hasn’t heard it yet

Not even 10% of the people put together Marxism with Jews, believe it or not. Most people truly have no idea, they have never learned it, never been taught it. Most would point to all the non-Jewish communists, etc., and not get the point of the Jewish origins of so much radicalism.
There are several areas that Whites need to be educated on. One is the simply teaching them that “race” is a valid concept in the first place, as well as “racial interests”. If that can be done it will be a watershed event.
Once they understand that, the issue of who has misdirected them can be taken up. I’m not saying it all can’t be done at once, but if Taylor can teach them it is OK to be pro-White, it will be worth gold.
Whites began losing their racial identity at the conclusion of the Civil War. Those who incidentally freed the Black slaves in the justifiable fight to preserve the Union took on the mantle of self-righteous saviors of the Blacks. It became a part of their proud identity and the Tribe eventually choked them with it. That meme is still with us and we are still choking on it. Contrary to their fighting spirit in the Civil War, the Northeastern elite surrendered to the Tribe without a fight.

Some other things we can do besides speak in a white voice and always in a white-centric way would be to elevate our discourse well above that of Jews, Muslims, blacks, browns, and yellows in this particular. They have fallen into the trap of claiming “offense” or, in other words, making their claim for attention and soothing by saying, “I’m offended by that.”
It works within the dominant corporate media because it is part of the white anti-white apparatus, but the diverse white people don’t like to be seen as whining based on entirely subjective claims. It’s like being a baby.
So what to do? Skip the complaining, whining, and being offended part, and go right to labeling the speech we don’t like and the speaker, too, with terms like supremacist (based on supremacy to claim the right to name or describe us), as well as anti-white, white anti-white, bully, hater, and liar.
If you need more, “dehumanizing” works well when the name or label is really a food, insect, animal, or plant name. It takes longer to explain, and might be more helpful just after the drive-by verbal shooting that is how white self-confidence is usually undermined.
And remember, we don’t need to persuade the others, there’s no interest in reasoned dialogue at all. The need is to demonstrate to other white Americans how to speak, how to attack back, and how to express our cultures, histories, and identities.
Another example of words like “offended” that the diverse white Americans seem not to like is “pride.” The best way to express pride is to use the expression, “Every child deserves to have a decent sense of self-respect.” That way to say “pride” works really well because, as you know, a white person saying “white pride” has been demagogued right up there with “We’re the best.”

As to the question of the what to do about Christian Zionism, the answer is the promotion of the proper meaning of Romans Chapters 9-11. These chapters are misinterpreted to mean that God has chosen Israel for salvation. But the Apostle Paul explains that God chose Israel for service only. Their assignment to serve God was completed when Christ came as prophesied as a son of Abraham and a son of David. Paul explains the true Jews are those who place their faith in Him through the work of Christ. The real Israel are those who have faith in the finished work of Christ. In Matthew 23, Jesus pronounces the final judgement on ethnic Israel through the 7 woes and prophesies they will be destroyed in Chapter 24 (compare Luke 21:20). Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans A.D. 70 as the judgement of God. Read Luke 20:9-19. The promises to Israel for land were completely fulfilled by God: Joshua 21:45,

No man comes unto the Father, but by Me.” Physical or ethnic Israel, and the ancient land of Palestine are of no importance any longer in the scheme of God. The ancient Jews had the advantage of being in His service as the earthly family through whom Mary would be the bloodline and Joseph the legal line to the throne of David, from which Jesus would come. The Jews also had the advantage of the truth contained for the world in the Old Testament Scriptures that proclaimed the will of God for the world. But that advantage has now ceased since Jesus has fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecy and the Kingdom of God is realized as the church–the group of those who believe in Christ who is God in the flesh who paid the penalty for sin. Actually the above passage is from 1955, not 1971. But Ludovici is surely correct. There’s maybe 2.5% of people who understand sophisticated analyses of the so-called Jewish Question. But the remaining 97.5% of the population cannot understand it — and will not. It’s a matter of values and temperament, not information. You have to hit the masses where they live — and they live in their bellies and their guts, not in their brains. I think Taylor’s approach is far wiser, in the long run.
I first came across Mr Taylor in TOQ. I was particularly impressed with a (poorly attended) press conference where he outlined a rock-solid analysis of the disproportionate black/white crime facts. However, despite his claims at the conference that he did not see race as a determining factor, I get a different impression from his American Renaissance website. This is a (highly entertaining) collection of news reports highlighting typical black behaviour and crime and, increasingly, alleged Muslim intolerance of, for instance, Christian symbols. However, his website does not ever publish anything critical of typical Jewish anti-social behaviour – which as TOQ readers will know is endemic and designed to sow chaos discord in the host community and thus increase the power of their own highly networked group. I find this puzzling. No solution can ever be found if a primal cause is, deliberately ignored. I Include parts of a piece by Mr Taylor entitled ‘Jews and American Renaissance’ of May 2006 from the Amren website. Please read the whole piece. My appreciation of Mr Taylor’s – still entertaining – output has certainly changed somewhat.
