A recent psychology paper suggests a bit of trouble on the road to our glorious multicultural future. The title says it all: “Whites See Racism as a Zero-Sum Game That They Are Now Losing” by Michael I. Norton and Samuel R. Sommers (Perspectives on Psychological Science 6(3), 215-218, 2011). The paper documents “an emerging belief in anti-White prejudice” — the belief “that Whites have replaced Blacks as the primary victims of discrimination.” Participants were asked about their perceptions of discrimination against Blacks and against Whites in each decade going back to the 1950s. Here are the results:
The claim by Norton and Somers that Whites view discrimination as a zero sum game is based solely on the fact that the lines in the above chart cross: perceptions of Black discrimination against Whites have risen as perceptions of White discrimination against Blacks have fallen. But to say that this implies that Whites see discrimination as a zero sum game is a non-sequitur, since the curves could be going in opposite directions for quite different reasons. (As all first-year psychology students are aware, correlation does not imply causality.) As indicated below, there are very real reasons why Whites feel discriminated against increasingly in recent decades, and this is likely independent of the reality that there is demonstrably less discrimination against Blacks.
A paper like this published in a first rate academic journal has to follow certain ground rules. The authors imply that Whites’ belief in anti-White discrimination is irrational because “by nearly any metric—from employment to police treatment, loan rates to education—statistics continue to indicate drastically poorer outcomes for Black than White Americans.” This comment fits well with the general the general tenor of the comments by several academics (including Norton and Somers) invited by the NYTimes: Yes indeed there is discrimination against Whites via well-publicized affirmative action cases, but Whites are still dramatically better off than Blacks, so get over it.
Of course, the unmentioned 800 lb gorilla in the room is Black IQ — along with the data showing that IQ is substantially heritable and not substantially changed in currently available environments. Given the reality of average Black IQ of around 85, it is quite possible — indeed quite reasonable — that Blacks in general would do poorly even in the presence of large-scale affirmative action that Whites would see as an unfair practice that limits their chances in life.
Patricia Williams, a Black law professor at Columbia, implies that zero sum thinking is irrational and a sign of prejudice—without ever denying the effects of affirmative action in allowing less qualified students into high position. But Paul Butler, a Black law professor and self-proclaimed beneficiary of affirmative action, states that affirmative action is just fine even though we do in fact live in a zero sum world. Why? Because “African-Americans still are owed big time.” For Butler, the past history of Blacks in America means that there is a huge debt owed to Blacks. I suppose he will let us know if and when it is paid off, but it’s certainly not going to be any time soon. And in the meantime it’s only fair that government policy continues to support affirmative action .
Both Abigail Thernstrom and David Bernstein correctly note that it’s not surprising that Whites feel discriminated against given the high profile examples of affirmative action. Thernstrom calls attention to the fact that Blacks are admitted to law school with “dramatically weaker” test scores, and Bernstein notes that
with the approval of the U.S. Supreme Court in Grutter v. Bollinger and at the insistence of American Bar Association accrediting authorities, law schools blatantly prefer African-American and Hispanic admissions candidates with weaker credentials than their white (and Asian) competitors; law firms advertise summer positions that are limited to minority candidates; and general counsels of major corporations insist that the law firms they hire impose staffing quotas for minority attorneys. Besides the reality of affirmative action, I can think of several other reasons why Whites would feel more discrimination against them.
Thernstrom’s comment on ““dramatically weaker” scores for Blacks may be a subtle indication that liberal intellectual elites are starting to wake up to the intractable reality of low Black IQ. She could have just said simply ‘weaker’ rather than “dramatically weaker” if she was trying to cover up the truth. She talks about law school where students have already graduated from college. The implicit question is: after four years of college why are Blacks still dramatically less academically competent than Whites?
Most liberal White Americans desperately want to believe that Blacks are equal to Whites on IQ, at least potentially so — if they were put in a proper environment. Or perhaps they have a tad lower IQ, but it’s no big deal. Talking about “dramatically weaker” scores among college graduates–scores that everyone knows are related to IQ–suggests something far deeper is operating after all these decades of uplift. The message starts to sink in: “Maybe it’s all a lie.”
A point that is not mentioned is the demographic reality that Whites will soon be a minority. The revolution in “rights” for minorities has coincided with the revolution in immigration policy, The Collision Course Between Immigration and Affirmative Action, as Hugh Davis Graham phrased it. It’s one thing to have affirmative action in a society that is 90% White and 10% Black. It is a whole new ball game when Whites are 65% of the population and rapidly declining. This means that when people say that they want elites to “look like America,” it means including not only Blacks, but ever increasing percentages of Latinos and Asians. Whites are expected to cede positions to “underrepresented” minorities via affirmative action while at the same time passively accepting that Asians are now being admitted to elite institutions at far higher rates than Whites. For example, 46% of the undergraduates at the University of California’s flagship university, UC-Berkeley, are Asians despite the fact that Asians are only 12% of the state population. (Less noticeable because it goes unmentioned in the mainstream media is the fact that on average 24% of undergraduates at Ivy League Universities are Jews.) These consequences are hardly trivial for Whites.
Patricia Williams makes a fleeting reference to this issue. Immediately after saying Whites are “the most privileged human beings on the planet,” she notes “The world is changing, however, and the realignment of wealth, power, jobs and resources has been deeply challenging to the notion of American exceptionalism.” It’s changing indeed, and Whites have every reason to worry about the future for themselves and their children. But Williams follows it up by showing that, for her, the culture can’t change fast enough: ”That exceptionalism, consciously or unconsciously, is infused with racialized hierarchies — normative whiteness and masculinity still marking the ‘worthiest’ inheritors of the American dream.”
Related to this is the perception by Whites that their culture has been hijacked, thus leading to anxiety and feelings of victimization. Norton and Somers note:
Consider the rhetoric associated with some members of the Tea Party, whose emphasis on the perceived values of the founding fathers implicitly centers on the notion that the founders were white heterosexual Christians. Or the oft-voiced concern that political correctness has stifled traditional American values, as with the idea of a “war on Christmas.”
They are exactly right that the Tea Party is implicitly White–and that there is indeed a War on Christmas. But it is absolutely reasonable for people to feel threatened with the loss of their culture. Public culture is a zero sum game. We can either have White, Christian, heterosexual culture predominate or not. The Civil Rights movement was never advertised as ending the traditional culture of America, simply as granting Blacks rights. The great majority of Whites accept ending biases against Blacks. What they don’t accept is the loss of the traditional culture of the country.
It’s not at all surprising that Whites would feel embattled and discriminated against as they see their culture being taken from them. Any Whites who think that White culture will persist when Whites become a minority are dreaming.
Patricia Williams is a good illustration of this attitude that White culture will cease to have any priority in the future–but only an illustration. The entire academic establishment in the social sciences and the humanities are on board with this–along with the elite media that never tires of letting elite liberal academics espouse their views to large audiences of educated people, exactly as we see here.
Another unmentioned issue is that White Americans may not feel any bias against Blacks while at the same time feeling threated by the increasing hostility they see around them—the continual negative portrayals in the media, the instant crushing and pathologizing of any assertion of White identity or interests even as strident activists for other groups are free to spew anti-White venom. In my experience, even White people without any explicit consciousness of being White notice the deluge of ads, TV shows and movies in which Whites are depicted as evil, stupid, and hopelessly uncool, while non-Whites are cast in the role of eternal victim of Whites. Black political figures like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton are free to castigate Whites and blame them for all the problems of Blacks. Rev. Wright’s diatribes and his association with Pres. Obama that surfaced during the 2008 election campaign were very widely distributed and commented on by mainstream conservatives in the media. Paul Butler’s comments on owing Blacks “big-time” hint at a deeper hostility behind the cool academic demeanor.
Whites therefore are already living in a media-hostile environment in which they see themselves victimized. Whites are also quite aware that they are victimized by crime by non-Whites, particularly Blacks and Latinos, far more than the reverse. It’s not at all surprising that this would rub off on White attitudes, making them believe, with considerable truth, that they live in a hostile world of non-Whites.
Norton and Somers state that
as a result, there’s a “jockeying for stigma” among groups in America today. This competition is surprising because being marginalized often equates to being powerless, yet many whites now use their sense of marginalization as a rallying cry toward action. Already, this sentiment is affecting political discourse, as shown by the rise of the Tea Party and the growing number of lawsuits alleging “reverse racism.”
This is wild non-sequitur. Being marginalized probably always leads to political action. The whole point is to increase your power. Whites see their political power declining and, like any other group, they are taking the first steps to restore their predominance. They are doing this while they are still a majority but a majority that sees themselves as becoming a minority within their lifetime. The first steps are tentative and unsteady; they are implicitly rather than explicitly pro-White. But the first step is to realize that that you are being victimized and that the future is bleak indeed. Whites seem to have taken that step.
Perhaps the real lesson here is that a scientific report like this can be so easily framed by the liberal elites in a way that does not in any way threaten the status quo. One day’s read in the NYTimes and it’s on to business as usual. No calls for rethinking American immigration policy to head off deep alienation among Whites as we head into the future where Whites are sure to feel far more marginalized and embittered than they do now.
The report calls attention to a major sociological shift for Whites that continues to play on the American political scene—particularly the racialization of American politics. Where that may lead is anybody’s guess, but if the research on multiculturalism is to be believed, it will certainly lead to greater conflict—conflict that will not be so easily papered over by academics giving a day’s entertainment to the educated folks who read the NYTimes.

An appropriate tactic would be to insist that Whites themselves be added to the list of protected groups hence all workplaces should have a balance of not only blacks and hispanics but also non jewish-whites, asians and jews. In this way asians and jews will equally share the burden of pro-rata discrimination. It is likely in anycase that White teenagers are already a ‘minority’ in their own age bracket if not nationally then in most cities. This demographic decline in an activist age group is likely to have a severe impact.

Whites are getting it from both ends. I believe the best solution is to insist on a program which adheres to demographic representation. IOW, if White European Christians compose sixty percent of the population than sixty percent of the university openings and job openings should be reserved for them, etc.

The purpose of publicizing these reports is to make it look like there’s some kind of terroristic, hate-driven White uprising in the works. The point is to make Whites look like a threat, and rally the public against them.

I think The Nation magazine was where I once read a column by Patricia Williams complaining about racist, New York City cabdrivers who would not pick up black males in high-crime areas. Consequently, I sent an email suggesting she take a job moonlighting as a cabdriver at nights in such places, where she could give black men a lift. Accepting the note as an accurate description of America, Summer of 2011, I’m lost why Prof. MacDonald is pushing the wrong solution. While most think that the situation facing America is an unique and earthshaking event, Prof. MacDonald knows that many societies had faced the very same problem and adopted different solutions. For example, when the Europeans lost their majority status in South Africa (through free immigration and differential vegetative rates), they adopted the apartheid (separation) solution. When the Europeans in Brazil lost their majority status in the coastal settlements, mostly by forced importation of foreign labor, their solution was not to impose separation and quotas, but to let things work out naturally. Transracial marriages although free is rare, Asians and Europeans fill the universities, and social stress is minimal. Costa Rica, Argentina, New Zealand and even Australia are well advanced on the way of becoming multiracial societies with an European minority. I think the formalistic Anglo-Saxon solution of classifying people, of formal separation, of precise quotas, etc. is absurd. And does not work, it creates direct confrontation and civil war. But the life of people in Brazil, the standard of living, is far lower than in the US. Even if you are upper class, life can be fairly dangerous – at least the company I used to work for assigned bodyguards to everyone we sent down there – not a good sign.
Argentina once had one of the highest standards of living in the world (when it had more European blood) but today it has sunk far behind. The same story repeats all over Latin America.
The Carnival of Rio is nice on TV but the reality of Brazil is more like San Paulo – oceans of miserable creatures that attack anyone White for money.
Look at this list of GDP per captia and see if you notice anything. All the rich countries are European (with the exception of the Arab countries that the White men made wealthy). As you go down the list it becomes more Hispanic and then finally becomes African.

He was at the verge of tears at the experience of being able to walk around in a crowd without fear of being mugged or attacked. We do have the problem of young muslim men sexually assaulting caucasian girls however since 1998 the Australian Buero of Statistics has stopped providing race linked crime data. We only hear about it when we the situation becomes so distressing internal police reports are leaked or in one famous case where the enraged father of one of the victims sold one of his houses to hire a Queens Council to ensure the case did not go away.

Here in Quebec, the abuse by minorities against what they call the “old patriarchal society” is all over the place. The old patriarchal society means the White Christian (Roman Catholic) heterosexual way. Quebec is really a testing ground for Harvard social visions; it is way ahead in giving exceptional rights to gay and lesbians, women and minorities. For example, for the past 10 years my phone company, Bell Canada, has been using their minority employees to abuse me in every fashion possible with bad faith every time I call for services. They are being explained that they need to tame people who do not belong to the “Canadian multicultural vision”. In 2007, after being harassed by some homosexuals from government and the phone company, I called a few of the institutions which are supposed to uphold are rights. To my surprise, their interpretation of the law was that it is IMPOSSIBLE for homosexuals to discriminate against heterosexuals. That being single is not a status protected under quebec or Canada charter of rights, which is a lie, because under the Canadian charter singles should be protected against discrimination through the “marital” status, and in quebec, on both though sexual orientation (heterosexual) and “social” status. There interpretation is that only a single Homosexual, not single heterosexual, can have protection under the law, and I was told that there was no basis for my complaint because I was not homosexual, that being single alone is NOT a Status protected, and I was not a minority.

The Sovereign Citizen beliefs? That would explain some of the posts here. I remember there was a radio show that featured these theories way back in the early 90s. It was actually pretty interesting and of course, they went into conspiracies dating back to the Illuminati (or much earlier).
All those theories are interesting and have some validity, but the main problem is that they tend to be “single bullet” theories of human history, meaning all events can be explained by reference to a small group of insiders that secretly orchestrate world events two or three centuries in advance.
The level of control these theories put forward is not humanly possible. In addition, they fail to account for myriad other factors that also come into play in human history (ethnicity, industrial development, the role of ideas).

Well first off, your post does point to something important: Ethnic differences in IQ and behavioral traits are real.
Steve Sailer has actually done some interesting blogging on this topic and it turns out there are important ways in which Asians game the admissions system. Whites have not been accustomed to thinking of themselves in competition with other groups.
Caleb conveniently forgets to mention that whites (especially males) who have identical or superior credentials to Asians trying to get into UCLA or Berkeley for example, are automatically shunted off to the second tier UC schools, while the members of the tribe and the Asians generally get their first choice school. This has been true for decades. The Asians try to be cagey saying they’re still being discriminated against while never mentioning what happens when they go head to head with whites, only with each other. The jews try to not mention anything, but can’t help bragging about themselves, about some friend pulling strings, etc.
While the Asians and jews spend much more time studying than whites (on the order of several hours per day vs the average white spending 30 – 60 min) the sheer number of white students with top test scores dwarfs the numbers for jews and Asians. Yet the jews and Asians get first choice. With about 3000 give or take of each anointed group for example having members score over 700 on the math portion of the SAT each year, most of these individuals go to top schools. 30,000 whites give or take each year score above 700 on the math portion of the test, but are pushed to the end of the line when it comes time to get into the top schools. Just look at the student bodies, the breakdowns. Blatant discrimination against whites. Despite all the jewish blowhards we endure regaling us with tales of their mental prowess, it becomes clear that in reality not only do they want to derail whites, they don’t want to have to compete directly against them either. Too much creativity I suppose. That’s why when the tribe has to admit some whites, they allow the second level students in and keep the top shelf talent out.
As Yggdrasil pointed out years ago, jews and Asians are admitted to Harvard etc. at triple the rates they would be if test scores and grades were the only criteria. It’s only gotten worse. There have been some pseudo-mathematical exercises in inductive reasoning, starting with the conclusion and reasoning backward. I first became aware of anti-white attitudes, when I began to notice the coolness, the unfriendliness, of minorities that I would constantly interact with on my job. At first I thought that maybe I was percieved as unfriendly, though everyone I’d ever met in life always referrred to me as a nice guy, cool, etc. Then it started to become clear and openly so, that a lot of minorities I ran into, were just plain bigoted towards me because I am white. Here’s an interesting experiment. Try going to a political blog, or one about educational issues, or historical issues, and write something to the effect that European-Americans largely created this nation. You will be shocked at the often times vile responses. You’ll be shocked at how much resistance you’ll get to this truth. When I was in grammar school thru third year high, the fact that European-Americans invented and created American was not even questioned. Shoot, all you had to do was look at the historical pictures and they’d tell the story. European-Americans up on skyscrapers building them, up on dams, on freeways and highways, putting up huge factories, working in those factories, busting the sod, in the midwestern states, and in fact, building the whole infrastructure of the nation. Now all you read is that if we didn’t have certain immigrants, nothing would get done. I doubt it.
Having said all of this, how can one argue in favor of many Eurpean-Americans today, when so many of them are on drugs, or just plain blindingly stupid and ignorant of their own history ,or even just plain consider it inconsequential?

I think you responded to the wrong post here, but anyway, man you are giving Steve a hard time! He went by publicly available stats on how races intermarry. It’s just based on those facts. Black men marry more White women than White men marry Black women – by a large margin.
The same relationship holds with White men Asian women. White men marry Asians women in much larger numbers than the reverse. So where does that leave Asian men? It potentially leaves them with a bit of a shortage. This is discussed by Asian men as well.
Steve seems to like Asians from what I can see, he just discusses ethnic differences. The science of group differences is slowly becoming acceptable again.

IQ tests seem pretty valid based on everything i’ve seen – not perfect but informative.
As far as I know, no one is predicting brazil or India will have a per capita income close to the US for generations and probably never. They are both in very deep poverty. The higher wealth of Western countries has been true for centuries and it isn’t really disputed.

Just ask yourself how many hours a week a typical Asian or even Jew spends during his early school days and compare that with others? Indians are also known to emphasize long hour studies and book reading. IQ test to me is a function of a culture and not race. Every Chinese can tell Whites are more innovative and creative while Eastern societies shun individualism and risk taking. They just study more since early childhood developing their minds. I am not sure whether people are born with different IQs. That will tells us something.

Unfortunately the data’s from 2002-2003, so it might be out of date.
What it says is that 61 to 62 percent of undergraduate students at Harvard were White, 19 percent Asian-American, 9% Latino, 9% African-American, and 2% other or mixed race.
No doubt some of the Latinos are of overwhelmingly European descent and should be classified as White, but probably this is approximately being adjusted for by the fact that Harvard almost certainly follows the Government’s lead of classifying non-European Caucasoids such as Arabs as White.
So if Jews were 25% of the students at Harvard, I’d estimate that would’ve given Harvard about a 60/40 White Gentile/Jew split in 2002-2003.
It’s possible that by now there are more Jews at Harvard than White Gentiles, but it should be borne in mind that this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Good points Reginald, I am trying to find some more solid numbers. It may be that the proportion of Jews is somewhat smaller (or larger). I am certain they are overrepresented, even when adjusting for SAT scores, but I forget where I found that data at the moment.

To critique something effectively you need to research it and not just rely on the news media. Islam, like Judaism, is a complex religion. But its besides the point. Rehmat can easily detect the lack of knowledge some here have. Thats normal since most authors in the Nationalist movement are more aware of Jewish activism than they are of an Islamic one.
Islam is actually very similar to Judaism, much more than people think. My experience has been that you can not talk about one without the other. One is sectarian while the other is ethno-centric. One likes it in your face (due to their large size) the other likes to wear a mask. Islam over dominated Jews and Judaism with ease but struggled with Christian Europe. While the Jews dominate Western societies with ease. It makes sense for the Jews to ally themselves with Western powers against Islam. But a Muslim Western alliance thing against Jews won’t work since Jews are not the real problem for them but the West is.
But then again my interest is religion and I frequent many religious forums and debates. Rehmat does not know about Islam as much as I do. Most Muslims are actually VERY ignorant about Islam. I have found that most Jews are also very ignorant about Judaism. These religions are very legalistic with tons of oral laws and traditions that its hard for the lay man to know much about it.
But Rehmat is a very good experience for many here as they go out in the real world. What you say will be used against you. You might blow away your 15 minutes chance. For a Nationalist they are hard to come by. Using precise arguments and not dwelling in the unknown is the best strategy. Focus is very important.

There is strong evidence for differences in IQ that have nothing to do with how it came about (God or evolution). You simply can measure it in many different ways – Christianity doesn’t say we have to avoid facts like that does it?
