There are over 1200 schools of education in the United States awarding upwards of 175,000 Masters Degrees each year. Prospective students are increasingly selected on the basis of demonstrated commitment to egalitarian ideology; in any case, all of them are  intensively marinated in that way of thinking for a couple years or more before being let loose in America’s classrooms. There, of course, they observe White, Jewish and Asian students outperforming Blacks and Mexicans—over, and over, and over again.

Some teachers’ beliefs are unaffected by even a lifetime of observation contradicting what they have been taught; such close-minded ideologues are the successes of our ed school system. But for many of their colleagues, cognitive dissonance is painful, and their inability to “make a difference” in the lives of their young Black and Brown charges can be deeply discouraging.

The education establishment makes sure these well-meaning teachers have nowhere to turn. Some become cynics who go on mouthing the platitudes they have been taught while learning not to care about their students. More than a few drop out of the profession entirely, at a considerable sacrifice of time and money invested. Very few, we can be sure, ever stumble across American Renaissance or any other publication that might allow them to make sense of their experiences.

It is for this sizeable demographic that Robert J. Walters has written Facing Reality in American Education. Mr. Walters is a successful businessman. For several decades, he has quietly supported scientific research in the field of human differences, including the work of Arthur Jensen and Thomas Bouchard’s Minnesota Twin studies — a rare and inspiring contrast with the “philanthropy” of businessmen like Bill Gates and George Soros. Now a grandfather ten times over, Mr. Walters is past the point where he need fear the attention of ideological enforcers; his book proudly bears his own name and photograph. Facing Reality is a simple book in the best sense of the word. It begins with a historical sketch of race and American education which, although brief, will contain matter both new and surprising to most readers: schools open to both races existed as far back as colonial times, but well into the nineteenth century no more than a quarter of Americans received any formal schooling at all; segregation mandated by law was introduced in the South not following the Civil War or Reconstruction, but at the very end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century; it was viewed as a progressive measure at the time, and met with little initial Black opposition.

Black schools generally received funding comparable to that of White schools through the end of the nineteenth century. The inequalities we hear so much about arose in the early years of the twentieth century: e.g., in the North Carolina of 1917, $3.08 was spent on White pupils for every dollar spent on Black pupils. A reaction then set in, and the disparities eroded slowly but steadily over the half-century that followed. By 1952, two years before the Brown decision, the difference had fallen below 25 percent, and by the mid-1960s it had disappeared.

The Supreme Court’s decision in Brown v. Board of Education was made explicitly with a view to improving the academic performance of Black students. It did not do so; in other words, judged by its own standard, Brown was a failure. If desegregation is celebrated today, that is because it is now viewed as an end in itself.

The failure of desegregation to raise Black achievement has led to dozens of other proposals for accomplishing that goal. The heart of Facing Reality in American Education is its brief description of every sane and insane idea put forward for eliminating the racial achievement gap in America’s schools. There are forty-two in all, and the cumulative effect of all this failure will impress all but the most hardened ideologues. Proposals discussed include busing, Head Start, more spending per pupil, new classrooms, free lunches, universal pre-school, racial quotas, bilingual education, computers, online education, higher pay for teachers, vouchers, charter schools, magnet schools, and on and on.

Some of the ideas verge on the comical. Mr. Walters introduces us to Dennis Parker, a rancher from Sacramento whose educational principle of maintaining a “good relationship” with students is based on the methods he uses to train horses. He claims to be responsible for large test score increases at two California schools, and districts have paid him thousands of dollars per day for sharing his “horse sense” philosophy of education, which no doubt beats ranching. The author demonstrates the bogusness of Parker’s claims, but does not indicate that Parker has returned any of the money. Other oddball ideas include beginning math and science instruction “shortly after birth,” paying bribes to pupils for getting good grades, and requiring that at least half the books assigned to students be written by non-Whites.

Mr. Walters concludes his list with accounts of the most recent fiascos, No Child Left Behind and Common Core (the latter of which has unfortunately not yet had time to fail; but don’t worry, it will). There follows a brief chapter on the related issue of the racial gap in student misbehavior, and another on the erosion of overall standards which is the inevitable by-product of any effort to make all groups achieve at the same rate.

By this time the reader should be well prepared for the author’s brief account of the realist position and the most convincing evidence for it: IQ studies, twin studies and trans-racial adoption studies. Mr. Walters’ focus is on readers to whom these ideas are new and possibly unsettling, so he is careful to explain that the recognition of human differences is not meant to hurt any group; on the contrary, it would help adapt education to the needs of different kinds of pupils.

Facing Reality in American Education is a book which might achieve a great deal of good if it gets into the proper hands. It has already been promoted by Rush Limbaugh and Shaun Hannity on their radio programs, and is beginning to rack up positive reviews at If you know a young teacher or anyone considering K-12 education as a career, slip them a copy of this brief and accessible book. It might save them years of frustration.

    In mid Victorian times one of my family eloped with an heiress to the West Indies. Six months after they were married she died of Yellow Fever. He subsequently married a mulatto and taught his family to read and write. After three generations they were illiterate, only able to copy the address of the last letter to arrive in England.
    The last tiime I mentioned this to someone I was, of course, called a racist.

    Amalekite: I watched a vid about Iranian prisons; they even have swimmingpools. In Soviet times and in today’s Russia everything is wonderful, just like in Iran, Cuba, North Korea. Funny that nobody wants to immigrate to these paradises on earth.

      Just to be sure, the above-linked video is just meant to show the innocence and peacefulness of kindergarten/grammar school, at least in some parts of Russia. Some LiveLeak commenters have mentioned that this is done in various Scandinavian countries as well.
      (As a comparison to the anarchy that takes place in similar US institutions.)

    Exactly. By helping fellow White people achieve moral and intellectual clarity, we can save them a lot of anguish.

    I like this comment I read on this blog a few months ago:

    “One of the nice things about awareness is that you can watch the divine comedy parade by and not feel any anguish about the things that don’t quite make sense. (…) You can see things for what they are and concentrate on your own preservation or on the preservation of those near and dear to you without wondering why the press and pols just lie through their teeth.”

    In a teacher’s case, once he knows about racial differences in IQ, he can concentrate on doing his job well, instead of trying to eliminate the racial achievement gap in his classroom.

    But racial differences in intelligence are not the only thing teachers need to learn about in order to restore their peace of mind. Someone needs to write a small companion book to the one by Walters, as teachers also need to be told that the crazy “leftist” theories that we find in schools are enforced from the top down, through the efforts of anti-White Jewish activists, with the aim of hurting our children. (By the way, I’d like to find some book documenting Jewish sabotage of Western countries’ education systems).

    It may be unsettling to discover that the government, under Jewish influence, wants to destroy not just the White race, but also our children’s education. But I think it’s even more unsettling not to be able to make sense of what’s going on.

    Once you understand that the crazy education theories are malicious, not misguided, it becomes much easier to ignore them and focus on doing your job well. You will no longer trust the phony school education specialists. You will no longer argue in the same way with your fellow teachers about teaching methods. You will just give them the advice to be practical-minded and take leftist education theories with a grain of salt.

    A small reservation: Of course, not everyone defending crazy education theories is malicious. Not everyone pushing race-replacement is malicious either. And they may seriously think that all races have the same average IQ. There is a lot of manipulation going on. Too many people help enforce stupid policies because they blindly trust the authorities over them, or because they are afraid to disagree.

        What Charlotte Iserbyt criticizes is really the Jewish agenda to destroy education all over the West, but she doesn’t say it’s the Jews. She will say it’s the communists, the Marxists, the NWO advocates, and so on, but she won’t say those people are Jewish.

        In the video below, at 5:30, she mentions the “new world order”/disorder and talks about the harmful influence of professor Benjamin Bloom who said that “The purpose of education is to change the thoughts, actions and feelings of students”, and who used to “define good teaching as challenging the student’s fixed beliefs”.

        But she thinks it’s enough to say his name was Bloom. She won’t say “Jewish professor Benjamin Bloom”. I downloaded her book on her website.
        I did a search for the word “Jew”, and it seems she doesn’t explicitly say it’s the Jews.

        I think the title of her book makes little sense if you don’t understand it’s the Jews. Because then, it is hard to accept the idea that the dumbing down is deliberate. Why would our own government try to destroy the education of our children?

        Maybe she thinks the problem is leftism and the Jews are only part of the problem. Or maybe she thinks they are at the heart of the problem, but it’s a better strategy not to explicitly say so.

        Her work is still useful to document Jewish influence over the education system if you already understand it’s the Jews. But maybe there are a few authors specialized in education who are more explicit about the JQ. Or maybe not!

          Absolutely correct. There are countless topics (education, family law, immigration, war profits, oil supplies, central banks, religions, tax laws, medical research, busing, town planning, faked statistics …) in which Jews play extreme roles. And yet there are commentators like Iserbyt who never mention them. The situation is slowly improving, but people aware of the issues MUST mention the Jewish detail.

          Yeah, unfortunately not explicitly naming the Jews is the common practice. Even RT, which regularly states that western media is biased, never points out the names of the Jews that run all of the western media companies. There was an RT news story from Jan. 26 where the Russian national security chief said:

          “The US leadership has set an objective – to dominate the world. Therefore they don’t need a strong Russia. On the contrary, they want to weaken our country as much as possible”

          but when I tried to post the information below it never got posted. I guess even the Russians are afraid of the backlash that would occur if they pointed out that the Jews basically control US foreign policy.


          I don’t understand why the Russians don’t just come out and say it.

          A “French” economist, Jacques Attali, who is a former adviser to President Mitterrand wrote a book titled:

          “A Brief History of the Future: A Brave and Controversial Look at the Twenty-First Century”

          where he espouses setting up a world government.

    I know many older and retired teachers who fully acknowledge that most of the new way of teaching math is useless.
    While in school, I was taught math the same way my parents were taught math. As best as I could figure out, it had been taught more or less the same way for several hundred years. The first iteration of “new math” was a few years behind me. I questioned then, and I question now, if the way I was taught math was more or less the same as how Isaac Newton, the “inventor” of differential calculus, was taught math, why would they need to change it? Is there evidence to suggest that teaching math changed between John Napier inventing logarithms and Newton’s differential calculus?
    Numbers/math are a language, that is why they come from the same part of the brain, neurologically speaking. How do we best learn language? By repetition. The repetition wires the brain for understanding patterns. Once the patterns are recognized, the real learning begins.
    Not only do we have children dependant on electronics for math, if it weren’t for spellcheck they would likely be incoherent.

      I’m right here in public school special education as a teacher and I can agree with Curmudgeon. It is all about patterns but NOT MAKING MODELS and drawing pictures – everything is taking twice as long among the general education teachers as it should be taking. In sped I have a little more freedom – and am taking as much as I possibly can…. found a book Math Basics published by SchoolZone for approximately $3.50 per copy – which is better than the Go Math Common Core material. Math Basics is Communist Core aligned so I can slip it into my classroom even with the knowledge of the principal who is part of the oriental elite in Hawaii State DOE Dept of Ed and has drunk the CC cool aide (Hawaii took the bribe). I am one of a very very small number of whites and it is indeed true that being a minority DOES make one more isolated. The entire experience of living in Hawaii is colored by that quality. As I observe the mainland, I can see we have fewer problems of certain types here, so far, but that is not a reason to stay. I treasure the few whites on the job and among the orientals tend to prefer the Chinese. Back to math: it is a disaster in the high military school where I try to work.

    What kind of a businessman would want to pour more more cash into the bottomless pit of Black failure?

    A buddy of mind says he saw the same thing in South Africa where despite massive cash poured at educating them, Blacks are still poor students and all it has done is create a consummer Black Middle Class who craze Mercedes and Range Rovers but can’t create real wealth that is still the responsibility of the much hated Whites.

      Here’s the thing. When people are gainfully employed in a full time job, they spend 9-10 hours a day, for 5 days, at work or travelling to and from work. In many cases, it’s more than that. Even if sleeping only 6 hours, getting up and getting ready for bed are generally a minimum of 1/2 hour. In total, out of 120 hours in a 5 day period, a minimum of 80 are tied directly to employment. That leaves approximately 88 hours of 168 hours, per week, to cause mayhem, or be a victim of mayhem.
      If gainfully employed at a living wage, the desire/want or so-called “need” for criminal activity, such as theft, is reduced. Meaningful employment means greater self worth, which means less depression. Less depression means less alcoholism or other drug abuse.
      Statistics show that in the bad old “Jim Crow” era there were areas, for example marital breakdown, was more prevalent in Whites than Blacks. Currently 70% of Black children are born to single mothers, the overwhelming majority are unemployed. Every industrialized nation with high employment rates/low unemployment rates has lowered birth rates.
      In short, jobs for Blacks would reduce crime and birthrates.

    I teach in Maryland. The latest edition of our Newspeak Dictionary has us using the terms “fixed mindset” and “growth mindset”. If you don’t believe that the right education can transform everyone into a genius then you have a “fixed mindset” and that’s a big problem.

    No wonder there were already mix-raced schools in colonial times, thanks to Christianity. The Christian dogma of monogenism claims all humanity originates from Adam and Eve; the very concept of different races is alien to this egalitarian ideology. To this day polygenism is heavely criticized by the Christian churches as the ultimate heresy bc it’s imcompatible with the dogma of the original sin. Long before cultural Marxism (a more secular offshoot of Christianity) came into being, Christianity was already busy converting the whole of mankind. I wonder why the “horribly” heathen Japanese and Chinese are racially conscious and not suicidal like Europeans are.

    Taught chemistry/physics at an inner-city high school for over 20 years. Teaching staff consisted of some fundamentalist Christians who wanted to save the benighted students but mostly anti-social misanthropes, socially inept liberals who adored everything non-white. Many fornicated with the students, even married them when forced. These losers got sex, romance, and even marriage by consorting with poor non-whites. In an earlier time they would have been disgruntled lifelong bachelors or bachelorettes. The school was a hell hole. One malignant smelly lecherous teacher told me our school was great. I looked amazed. He replied “Yeah, they don’t fire us.” I stayed to get over-time pay to travel the world 4 months a year.

    After watching the evidence of this miserably failed social engineering experiment stack up higher than most of the Rocky Mountains – I have finally realized that the original intent behind the jewish Cultural Marxist efforts to force blacks into formerly all-White public schools had nothing whatsoever to do with a belief in the fanciful ‘equality’ of all races.

    No, what it was and still is all about – is to put sexually predatory black males in as close proximity as possible to young, naive, white-guilt indoctrinated White females in order to allow those sexual predators to help mongrelize the White race visi vi race mixing.

    For the naive White females who do not volunteer to give access to their wombs to predatory black males, then those black males will simply slip them a ‘date rape’ drug or just forcibly jump their bones and help themselves to the White female’s body.

    I should have added more, for the remark I made above suggests apathy or frustration, and even a giving up of the element of hope…at least on my part. This is not necessarily true. However, there will always be a gap in learning outcomes as long as there is a form or formula for measuring it. Man is not *created* equally either biologically or emotionally or on any other level; the concept is absurd.
    I wonder if President RR had any idea of the Critical Theory that was being put into place in traditional institutions like *education* before his time? Or the meanings and ramifications of it? Abraham Lincoln knew of the writings of Karl Marx…didn’t he? There are a number of ways to do away with the *appearance* of an educational *gap*, but the gap, in reality, will still exist and will become greater.

      Lincoln was murdered in 1865. Marx’s ‘Das Kapital’ was published in German in 1867. And the ‘Communist Manifesto’ was published about 1848. Maybe Lincoln knew about revolutions; I’d hope he was aware of Jews pushing for destruction, but I doubt if the Marxist theories, such as they were, could have been known to him. I don’t think Marx wrote anything much on education, let alone on race differences: he thought Europe was best and pretty much ignored the ‘Third World’.

      Since the US has *had diplomatic relations with the nation of Germany and its principal predecessor nation, the Kingdom of Prussia, since 1835*…it is difficult to imagine the President of America (The Union) not having knowledge of the writings of such a one as Karl Marx. It is also important to note that KMarx had at one point a temporary headquarters for himself in the city and state of New York. You say your name is “Rerevisionist”? Why would you think it necessary to take issue with what I said? Just curious.

    Does this strategy sound familiar? Make note of what she says at the 5:30 mark.

    From a article:

    I went to see Williams because he was famous when I was in middle school 20 years ago, at a different school in the same county. Longfellow’s teams have been state champions for 24 of the last 29 years in MathCounts, a competition for middle schoolers. Williams was the only actual teacher on a 17-member National Mathematics Advisory Panel that reported to President Bush in 2008.

    Williams doesn’t just prefer his old chalkboard to the high-tech version. His kids learn from textbooks that are decades old—not because they can’t afford new ones, but because Williams and a handful of his like-minded colleagues know the old ones are better. The school’s parent-teacher association buys them from used bookstores because the county won’t pay for them (despite the plentiful money for technology). His preferred algebra book, he says, is “in-your-face algebra. They give amazing outstanding examples. They teach the lessons.”

    The modern textbooks, he says, contain hundreds of extraneous, confusing, and often outright wrong examples, instead of presenting mathematical ideas in a coherent way. The examples bloat the books to thousands of pages and disrupt the logical flow of ideas. (For instance, the standard geometry book for Fairfax County, which is used in schools around the country, tries to explain what a mathematical point is by analogy to pixels on TV screens, which are not in fact point-like.) Teachers at other schools in the county have told him that they would rather use the old books, too, but their principals would kill them. Other teachers have told me the same about new technologies—they, like Williams, think the technologies are ineffectual, but lack his courage to oppose them.

    On one side are education researchers like Constance Kamii, at the University of Alabama, who argues that teaching children to add and subtract is harmful. This camp says it has insights into the way children learn that warrant departure from traditional ways of teaching math. On the other side is the consensus of working scientists and mathematicians as well as teachers like Williams, who notes that it took very smart adults thousands of years to develop modern mathematics, so it makes sense to teach it to students rather than get them to “discover” it themselves.

      When I was in education at UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) I was
      exposed to the ideas of teaching teachers to teach directly under the influence of Dr. Kamii. I would have to say that teachers, especially the very young student, are in no real way *political* therefore could never comprehend hidden socio-political agendas of their *masters* unless they were told by their masters, but sometimes they are told…and still they are unaware.

    The idea that at least half the books assigned to students be written by non-Whites is infuriating. When are Caucasians going to stand up and say “No more policies designed to make less of us!” No more limiting our hiring, admissions, and representation. No more rewriting our history to downplay our accomplishments and to erase our pioneers. No more reckless immigration policies designed to make us sparse. And NO MORE leaders who demonstrably seek to destroy us.

        I agree. White people and white men are more interested in looking trendy, fashionable and cool by being PC. They even let their kids idolize negroes and non whites who are in sports or the entertainment industry. When you know what hits the fan, they will come to their senses.     I heard an astonishing piece of mendacious anti-White propaganda on ZBC’s Radio Five Live this morning. Their ethnic presenter (almost all ethnics, women or pussies – reception for TalkSport was poor) said:

    “We’ll be talking to the only White person to be imprisoned on Robben Island- Dennis…”

    Now see if you can guess the last name of this WHITE prisoner. What sort of WHITE man would betray his people, the race that made ESA tthe richest country in Africa, brought it civilisation, wealth, electricity, the wheel, sewrs etc…to side with the terrorists who came down from other parts of Africa to parasitise the White civilisation?
    Smith? No
    Jones? No
    Van de…? No
    Le… No

    Why the name of the WHITE man who engaged in his race’s habit of sticking their giant noses in and meddling with White civilisation to make RSA a dump where White people are murdered at a world record rate. Of course, it’s… Drumroll please…

      Mr Curious,

      I’ve noticed similar things across the pond.

      (1) A local fish wrap* published an article about a church celebrating MLK day in which one of the African performers was wearing “white face!”

      On television:

      (2) A European American family is facing the crisis of their teenage daughter’s heart surgery. While she’s in the hospital we are told she has a secret admirer who just happens to be an Asian boy.

      (3) There are two women discussing breast cancer; one is European and other is Doctor Rubin.

      (4) We have a profess explaining genetics and of course he’s wearing a skullcap.

      (5) Lastly, and I’ll be kind, we are being given the television series “Mercy Street”, the newest rewrite of the American Civil War.

      *The newspaper has a circulation of 140,000 daily and 250,000 Sunday.
