Instead, the teacher indoctrinates the students with Jewish atrocity propaganda that traumatizes them. Shown is the infamous propaganda film from Dachau, where a steel door to the shower room (“Brausebad”) opens, and a gloved arm with no identity (was it “Billy Wilder” himself, or his horror colleague Hitchcock?) sneakily opens a valve in the boiler room, which is deceptively portrayed as a “gas tap.”
“How could the Germans have gassed 10 million [sic!] Jews without a single one of them putting up a fight?” the teacher is asked. This implies that every German was personally aware of what became known after the war as the “Holocaust.” Yet the Nazis themselves are said to have kept it a secret (though, on the other hand, they took “evidence photos” of it).
Who is indoctrinating whom here: the Nazis their youth, or the Jews the postwar youth? The answer shouldn’t be too difficult. Who actually wants to exterminate whom here: Germany the Jews, or the Jews “Amalek”? The teacher instills “German discipline” in his students (again through trickery) so that “the group dynamics become clear.”
