“Flight”: Denzel Washington’s New Movie, Part I

I find myself in a conflicted position. While I enjoy being right as much as the next guy, it hurts to be right about something with negative consequences. Imagine, for example, that you are convinced you have a serious malady, yet your stubborn doctor pooh-pooh’s your concerns. As a result, you conduct a grueling online search and eventually pin down your ailment to an obscure but quite harmful degenerative disease.

You take these results to a more accommodating doctor, who indeed confirms your suspicious. You, then, are left congratulating yourself for outwitting your original doctor — but you have also confirmed that your quality of life is inextricably going to erode. Mixed emotions, right?

I suffer from a parallel syndrome. For well over a decade I’ve been parsing Hollywood films and finding in them a pronounced bias against straight White European-derived males. To be sure, we still have traditional fare with White male stars as the lead — think George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, even Mel Gibson now and again. But we also find so many films in which only the White guy is bad.

What really troubles me is the fact that so much of this imagery is counterfactual. We race realists know that it is White males who have built so much of civilization over the last five centuries and that now it is we who bear the brunt of the anti-White multicultural onslaught. The cultural Marxists have cleverly used women and minorities against White males, and we see this imagery many times a day now. Go to your bank’s website, for instance, and I’ll bet you’ll see a parade of non-White faces and smart White women staring back at you. Try, however, to spot the White males. It’s often not easy.

A key bastion of this distortion of reality, I believe, is Hollywood, which will surprise no reader familiar with my work. Further, I have argued (see Understanding Hollywood I) that it is not just cultural Marxists in general but Jewish directors, screenwriters, agents, studio moguls et al. who are pushing this. Come on, what power do women or other non-Jewish minorities have in Hollywood? Essentially none.

What is really astounding, however, is the fact that this Hollywood cabal (see here, p. 386) has over the last few decades used the most downtrodden, least accomplished group in America and featured them as saviors, heroes and geniuses, in contrast to the dim-witted, unaccomplished or outright evil White men they appear with. I am, of course, talking about African American men. Hollywood’s celluloid promotion of such has, some have argued, resulted in the first African American occupying the Oval Office.

I wrote about this extensively for the print journal The Occidental Quarterly, specifically in my essay Understanding Hollywood III: Racial Role Reversals. There I borrowed the phrase “Numinous Negro” from Richard Brookhiser, who had coined the term for an Aug. 2001 article in National Review. The two leading examples of such Negroes, I argued, are Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. Even before Brookhiser’s term ever saw the light of a computer screen, I had noticed how consistently Hollywood was boosting the images of these two men.

Paul Kersey, founder of the Stuff Black People Don’t Like blog, has also examined this counter-factual phenomenon, particularly in his book Hollywood in Blackface: Black Images in Film from Night of the Living Dead to Thor. The book description reads:

Filmmakers skillfully manipulate character and dialogue, conflict and action, in ways that allow them to cast positive and negative images; in so doing, filmmakers profoundly shape the perceptions their audiences hold of different racial groups which they, the audience, rarely encounter in real life. It is through this constant and careful manipulation of Black characters in popular films that has manufactured a positive representation for all Black people. Black Fictional Images (BFI) from the character of Captain Stephen Hiller played by Will Smith in Independence Day to Miles Dyson played by Joe Morton in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, from the character of Azeem played by Morgan Freeman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves to Terence Mann as played by James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams, these and numerous other actors and films have done more to burnish the image of Black people in America than all the Civil Rights activists combined. Indeed, the manipulation of characters like these and numerous others over the years have gone far toward manufacturing perceptions of Black people that reality just cannot replicate.

This is where the story of my own “malady” comes in. As part of my teaching, I unpack various Hollywood films to show my students how the image of the White man has taken a relative fall in the last two or three decades. In contrast, that of Black men has soared (though, for some reason, that of Hispanics and Asians has remained understated).

I had plenty of ammunition to argue my point, too. By the time I was teaching, I could use the explosive race film American History X to show how Hollywood manipulates images. For consistency, however, I found the two Numinous Negroes to be more reliable. For instance, Morgan Freeman’s 1998 film Deep Impact featured him in the modest role of President of the United States. The Jack Bauer TV series 24 also promoted the meme of Black presidents.  As a writer for the Los Angeles Times noted, “Black presidents, in fact, have been our awesomest presidents ever: Morgan Freeman in ‘Deep Impact’ and Dennis Haysbert in ‘24.’ And their approval ratings . . . have been huge.”

A few years later, in The Sum of All Fears (2002), Freeman played the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, who mentors a younger White agent, Jack Ryan, played by Ben Affleck. The next logical step up for Freeman was to play God himself, which he did in Bruce Almighty (2003) opposite Jim Carrey. (Freeman played God yet again in Evan Almighty (2007) co-starring Steve Carell.)

The films I’ve really gotten educational mileage out of, however, are those of Denzel Washington. It’s as though he was anointed “the race guy” from his first films.  In 1987’s Cry Freedom, for example, he played South African anti-apartheid martyr Steve Biko. In 1989’s Glory he played an escaped slave who joins the Union army in the Civil War. In 1991’s Mississippi Masala, Washington’s character falls in love with an Indian immigrant from Uganda who somehow finds herself in racist Mississippi. Washington’s big breakthrough, however, was his title role in the 1992 Spike Lee film Malcolm X. (Talk about a race film!) In 1999, Washington played the title role in The Hurricane, about boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, allegedly imprisoned falsely for the 1966 murders of three New Jersey Whites. Other race-charged Washington films include The Siege (1998), Training Day (2001, where he appears out of character as a corrupt — but cool — cop), John Q (2002), Antwone Fisher (2002), Man on Fire (2004), Inside Man (2006), Déjà Vu (2006, which features truly vile imagery of the White man), American Gangster (2007, again out of character for good-guy Washington), and The Great Debaters (2007, featuring a Southern lynching, etc.).

Regarding the theme of White displacement, however, two of Washington’s films stand out: Crimson Tide (1995), directed by Tony Scott and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and Remember the Titans (2000), directed by Boaz Yakin and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Power is central in Crimson Tide, as emphasized by the opening statement that the commander of a nuclear ballistic missile submarine is one of the three most powerful men in the world, following the leaders of Russia and the United States. The film also harks back to racism in the Deep South because it is set on a submarine named the Alabama. The struggle between slave and master is exemplified by the rivalry between the Executive Officer Hunter, played by Washington, and Captain Ramsey, played by Gene Hackman.

The stage for a confrontation is set early in the film when a fire breaks out in the galley, and Hunter leads the effort to extinguish it. The captain, meanwhile, takes this opportunity to run a missile launch drill. Because of the stress of the drill immediately following the fire, an overweight Black cook succumbs to a heart attack. Hunter protests the decision to run a drill at such a risky moment, but Captain Ramsey refuses to accept any blame.

This initial Black vs. White confrontation quickly escalates into a major showdown when the submarine receives ambiguous transmissions seeming to order the launch of nuclear missiles against targets in the former USSR. Ramsey, who has risen through the ranks of the Navy the hard way, favors an immediate launch. Hunter, a graduate of Annapolis Naval Academy and Harvard, insists upon confirmation of the order before possibly precipitating World War III. Though Ramsey attempts to remove Hunter from his post so that he can unleash the missiles, he fails in his efforts by losing his temper and impulsively straying from standard operating procedure. The cool-headed Hunter then takes advantage of this lapse and has the captain himself relieved of command. Ultimately, Captain Ramsey relinquishes command and walks off stage, old and tired. Metaphorically, this can be  interpreted as an attempt to read White males out of the story of a new America, one in which Blacks are set to assume their turn at the pinnacles of power.

Perhaps more than any other Hollywood movie, Remember the Titans (2000) reveals the template for the planned replacement of the American majority. Ostensibly a heart-warming tale about a group of high school football players working to overcome racism in turbulent times, the barely buried subtext is that Whites should gladly — altruistically (see this fantastic review of pathological altruism) — hand over everything that they value to Blacks. The football team represents American society in microcosm, Black, White, and tense. Subtlety is not this film’s forte.

Into this tense situation comes a new Black coach, Herman Boone (Washington), who moves his family into an all-White neighborhood. At the recently integrated school, the men find out that Boone will replace Yoast, the White coach, as head coach, a proposition that the White coaches find unpalatable. The White players, too, object, threatening to boycott the Black coach. Yoast, however, convinces them that the right thing to do is play ball.

Play they do, beginning with a bus trip to summer camp. To no one’s surprise, the bus scene is used to highlight segregation. Coach Boone is eager to establish his dominance and does so when Gary, the White quarterback, tries to act as master of the coach. Boone neatly turns the tables by humiliating Gary (with all the White parents watching), badgering the boy with taunts of “Who’s your daddy?” Meekly, Gary gives in and rides the integrated bus.

Upon arrival at the camp, Boone demands that White and Black players share rooms. Clashes erupt over tastes in music as well as responses to a poster of Black athletes using the Black Power salute at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. An obese White lineman confesses to all in the cafeteria that he is too stupid to go to college. To remedy this, a brilliant Black player volunteers to tutor the grateful White, who acknowledges that he is nothing but “White trash.”

 

Injecting historical seriousness into the film, Boone runs his charges through the dense woods, coming upon a fog-shrouded battlefield cemetery. He then speaks of the background of the Civil War and its attempt to erase the wrongs of slavery. Let us not, he intones, forget those goals and sacrifices, nor let those past hatreds persist.

A particularly egregious co-optation of a Christian theme, I felt, comes when quarterback Gary is driving his ’69 Chevy Camaro through town after another Titans’ victory. His car is broadsided by an old pickup truck, and he is permanently paralyzed from the waist down. In the hospital, Gary watches on TV as his team fights its way to victory in the Virginia State Championship. Jewish director Yakin sets up a shot where White light from above shines over the prostrate Gary, who then lifts his arms in a Christ-like pose. He has given everything so that his Black teammates may play. No opportunity is missed to show that the world is a better place when Blacks replace Whites. The lesson for American society in general is clear.

I suppose it is painful for any racially aware White to view, let alone teach, such replacement-theme films. My conflict, however, comes with each new year proving me so right. The same old “replace the inept White males with multicultural stars” has become routine.

    Jews basically have more direct control over the White European national image than we Whites have ourselves. And this is what they’re doing with that power. Shows that they have zero honest desire to build a world that has respect for all. That’s just something they lie about. And where are all the “good Jews” we’re asked to believe exist? You’d thing that maybe a few would come out and suggest that this kind of propaganda dosen’t really help racial matters but basically builds hatred. But no. There are no Jewish voices that will object to anti-White hatred comming from Hollywood. I’ve never even heard of any Jew saying this stuff is over the top racially. It’s because they all agree with it or at least feel they can all live with the anti-White narrative where ever it takes us. Just remember that they all approve of the anti-White hatred because they never object to it. That’s proof that can’t be disputed.

    The idea that Hollywood is intentionally peddling a maliciously anti-white agenda originally struck me as suspicious and overstated – on first mention it sounds a little bit like absurd paranoia – but I’ve become convinced that it’s absolutely true. On a positive note, as I read elsewhere, once people are made aware of just how dishonest Hollywood is, they will become immune from having the wool pulled over their eyes in the future.

    Excellent review and analysis, thank you. This demonstrates that it is far from just money that motivates Jews and other Anti-Whites. This is a pure, gut-level hate at work. They could make far more money with more traditional and realistic White characters in the lead.

    This article is absolutely correct. I don’t watch movies like Crimson Tide or Titans.I also tell my family to boycott them. They are also taking over commercials. Blacks are about 13% of the population but now have 50% or better of the TV commericials. They are also given preference for behind the Camera work. You would think all those displaced white camera operators and actors/actresses would be raising hell over it. I guess they keep their mouth shut so they won’t get completley Blackballed.

    A desire to maximize guilt in European-descendent Americans over slavery, not felt with regard to Hispanic or Asian immigration? I’d like Mr. Connelly to expand on this point, or hazard a guess, at least.

    Kung Fu, the 70′s TV series with David Carradine, certainly did its bit in portraying the bigotry and boorishness of Caucasians vis-à-vis the numinous Asian.

    In general that is true, but there are exceptions. Consider, for instance, pro-family Orthodox Jew Michael Medved, whose 1992 book (published by the mainstream publisher HarperCollins) “Hollywood vs. America” quite explicitly revealed and criticized the anti-Christian bias of modern Hollywood. But I see this more as a tactic than as anything genuine: control the opposition by BEING the opposition. Medved (like Dennis Prager) has a huge media presence and both do from time to time finger their “co-religionists.” Nothing, of course, ever comes of this, but maybe that’s another subject.

    In a related way (and it parallels KMAC’s latest article on Jewish control), Neal Gabler made a nice name for himself by writing “An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood.” He’s quite right, yet few Americans, I believe, even know this today (Henry Ford’s generation seemed more informed). Yet I can’t tell you how many times I get shot down when using what these Jews wrote. It’s the endless double standard. And of course my critics are right: I’m not working on behalf of Jewish interests, while we can all be sure that Medved, Prager, Gabler et al. do it even in their sleep.

Cornell: @Monroe: Monroe, I have exactly 0, sympathy for white actors and workers in the Hollywood movie industry, BECAUSE, year after year, for some forty years now, these movie industry employees, labeled white citizens and others, RACISTS, for not allowing illegal aliens into blue collar industry and unskilled labor jobs. So, alas, when a Hollywood grip, or blue collar worker, or even actor, now complains about all the cheap labor being hired, and all the actors coming from places like England,etc. taking their jobs, I enjoy the very thought of them whining and crying about it. THEY HAD ZERO, ZILCH, NYET, NADA–sympathy when their fellow Americans in the non-movie industries were affected by the same foreign illegal and other labor. THEY ARE REAPING WHAT THEY HAVE SOWN.

    A very good point for which I don’t have an answer. Maybe just using blacks alone is sufficient. Or maybe the powers that be realize that it’s best to focus one’s fire, thus making it easier to stay on message.

    Having said that, there is an immense industry that tracks (alleged) White anti-Asian sentiment, led by the many Asian American Studies departments within U.S. universities. Perhaps Berkeley’s Elaine Kim is the leading example of this.

    So much of this line of critique, however, has to do with purported Western “feminizing” of the entire East (except when there’s a hot war on). Further, I’d venture that Hollywood’s use of beautiful young Asian women outnumbers appearances of Asian men by many, many times, so here too the criticism revolves around that. For better or worse, such a discourse falls flat outside academia.

    As for Hispanics, I admit I’m baffled. Could it be because they are only recently an important minority? They seem oddly invisible in the culture, despite being oh-so-visible in real life.

    As for David Carradine of “Kung Fu” fame, he was not even part Asian, which brings me to a further point: I suspect that almost no Asian men are even remotely appealing enough to White audiences (male or female) to get a critical mass of important roles in Hollywood or on American TV. In other words, they just don’t sell (yes, I know about exceptions like martial arts expert Bruce Lee but that seems like a very minor niche).

    The first real exception that comes to mind is John Lone, but go ahead and type in “Is John Lone . . .” on Google and the first hit is “gay.”

    Somehow there are African Americans like Sydney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes et al. that White audiences do find attractive. (Incidentally, Morgan Freeman started acting as Count Dracula on The Electric Company. Possible we’re looking at a process of habituation.

    I really don’t care for reviews like this. You really don’t have to convince this crowd how agenda driven and morally corrupt Hollywood is. Even Rush Limbaugh’s fans know that. This movie is just standard fare, nothing unusual.

    There must be something else out there worth reviewing.

    A first class essay, but I must say I think most of those of us who have woken up have been aware of this for a very long time. The great YGG, an occasional contributor to TOO, had an entire library list of film reviews to enable readers to assess movies friendly or hostile to WN. One of those most memorable was a devastating commentary on Charlie Chaplin’s, propaganda movie, ‘The Great Dictator’.

    It was made in 1940 and was his first ‘talkie. He played a Barber who had become a Dictator of a European Nation and was named Adenoid Hynkle.

    The reviewer’s take on this was the movie was Chaplin’s great comic genius was used to create pure, evil poison which would have certainly lured countless thousands of gullible goyishe farm boys into the US Army to be slaughtered in Europe for the benefit of the Jewish shysters who were the root cause of the war in the first place.

    Sound familiar?

    I saw the movie as a teenager 50 years ago in a Melbourne theater and I remember walking out half way through it. It must have been my inner Nazi, even way back then.

    @ Edmund Connelly: I totally agree with your belief in controlled opposition. It’s a great way to steer the subject matter directly into the dust bin while preserving an illusion of free speech in America. How sincere are those very few Jewish critics of Hollywood? I guess one would have to examine a wider selection of their writing. That’s not something I plan to waste any time doing. So maybe there are a few moderating voices out there. Somewhere. But the deliberate anti-White hate campaign is real and is facing practically no opposition from any segment of the Jewish community. To me, that says a lot.

    In the movie Safe House, Mr. Washington has a list that Mossad made of people in different intelligence agencies that are corrupt. It was a blackmail list that compromised members of the CIA, Mi6, and other major agencies.

    The black director, Carl Franklin, is a nice contrast to the Spike Lee activist/film-maker. His black protagonists are less romanticized, One False Move comes to mind. http://is.gd/pxloFO

    I had no idea how common it was for Hollywood types to adopt a black child now. Look at his list. Sandra Bullock, Spielberg, Madonna, etc. This is a list of 10 celebrities with black adoptees.

    I heard someone say that White people really do have a tendency to make pets out of everything. If we went back in history, I am sure you would see early Whites in Egypt, bringing black slaves into their lives. Same thing in India. Same thing in Persia to some extent. I wonder how many times Whites have snuffed themselves out as a civilization?

    There really is nowhere to turn to when it comes to quality films. European filmmakers are even worse than American ones, they’re far more culturally marxist, especially the west Europeans.

    I did however enjoy the 2010 German film Young Goethe in Love, a charming comedy-drama (mostly fictional) about Goethe before he hit it big. No cultural marxist nonsense, no intrusive and out-of-place third worlders, just a pleasant film set in the German countryside that gives us a merciful glimpse at how Europe was before insanity hit.

    Jim, that’s a valid point, one I’ve long struggled with. While some of us do get this, it is downright depressing to obverse how many Whites do NOT get it. Worse, I believe, is the even larger contingent of Whites who REFUSE to get it. So why do I continue? I guess my friend Andrew Hamilton from C-C put it to me best: I have a duty.

    While I have only a small platform now to share my views, should a day ever come where I can educate a larger number of Whites, I’ll have done my homework and will have a ready quiver of arrows to throw into battle. Please never underestimate how many people are oblivious to this. How many read TOO? No idea, but perhaps readers could share with Whites ready to open their minds what I hope is easily accessible prose.

    I’m curious, what other topics might be of more help?

    @Graham Wellington: Thank you for the reference to his other movie this year, “Safe House.” Notice the trailer starts out with the same meme, “He’s the most brilliant age this agency has every seen.” Why don’t they say things like “He’s the fastest runner this agency has ever had,” or the best basketball player. No, it’s always brilliant.

    Also, it looks like yet another film where Washington’s character mentors a younger White male. Hollywood LOVES that theme, so I must not really appreciate how powerful its impact must be. Anyway, here’s the trailer for the film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1599348/

    Paul Kersey writes books about the negative influence of the Hollywood Negro, but will not allow any discussion of who is promoting these archetypes.     The reason Jews in their film industry chose especially Blacks to humiliate Whites with, by depicting them as superior and Whites as inferior, is that in the racial estimation of Whites ( and in fact of all other non-black races ) Blacks figure as the lowest, thus maximum humiliation is achieved.
    This is also the reason why Obama was forced upon white America.

    Another “useful function” Blacks fulfill for the Jews is the degradation they bring into education and employment by the promotion of the impossible ideal of their “equality” with the white man.

    Finally, Blacks are used as the ultimate means of destruction of the white race by the promotion of miscegenation, the “ideal” of which is continuously suggested in films, TV and advertisement.

    Thus on many levels, Blacks have become an instrument in the hands of the Jews for the destruction of white America, which is their ultimate aim.

    Among themselves Jews feel only contempt for Blacks, whom they call with the denigrating term “Shvartzes”, as their behaviour in Israel toward Ethiopian Jews and African asylum seekers clearly shows.

    And who were the major traders of African slaves to the Americas again?

    One way to “fight back” is to simply boycott movies and television altogether. Or at the very least, discriminate with great prejudice. And most importantly, make sure your children are as shielded as possible from the Hollywood filth.

    I enjoyed “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy (maybe especially because the producer chose not to inject black elves or dwarves against Tolkien’s will). But, movies like “Flight” don’t even cross my radar screen.

    For me the most helpful thing would be sources, preferably online, to give authoritative, academic support for the kind of interpretation you do.

    Thanks to your help I can see things in movies better, but I’m not in much of an improved position to convince anyone that my new interpretations call on any “received” methodology.

    Bertrand Russell said that in any philosophy there is usually a small kernel containing the picture of how things are. That can be given a pretty valid condensed version pitched to general readers. Then there’s fortifications all around, to fight off objections from people like hostile professional philosophers (and possibly facilitate counter-attacks against their positions). That you can’t sum up quickly, because it’s all in the detail, and the arguments are often valid or invalid; there is nothing there in the absence of the complete proof of validity.

    What you’ve provided is a superior model of interpretation, with examples. That’s the kernel.

    What I don’t have is something to say when someone says something like: I’m a film school student so I know that’s all just paranoid racist nonsense with no basis in film theory.

    I’m not asking for something to say that will convince the person yelling “racist!” That never happens. But I would like to be able to buttress my position for the benefit of any third party who might see the argument.

    @Edmund Connelly: First of all, I’d like to say thanks to Ed Connelly – for yet another, in a long and seemingly endless line, of outstanding articles.

    As for the jewish Hollywood focus on pushing black males and largely ignoring Asian and Mestizo men – I have a theory about why they do that.

    I think most of the regular readers of TOO will agree that the jews seem to have a bottomless pit of raw, festering hatred for White European men – and, when I see examples of their frothing at the mouth hatred for White males, I often find myself thinking that jews must hate White men more than they love life itself. I mean, it is quite obvious that they are beyond the level of a simple obsession – they are literally CONSUMED with hatred for White males.

    So, here is my theory. I invite others to expound upon it and share their opinions, pro or con. Trying to see this issue from a jewish viewpoint – and from studying and reading countless books that describe historic jewish behavior – it is my sense that jews see blacks, i.e. African negroes – as the ultimate way to humiliate and emasculate White men. As Keith Alexander has said several times on the Political Cesspool radio show – the deepest and most profound desire of any ‘slave’ is not to obtain his freedom. No, the most powerful desire that the slave has is to one day reverse the roles; to change places with his overloads. To become the master and his former master become his slave.

    I think the jews understand this principle and due to their atavistic, deeply rooted hatred for White European men – they believe that by subjugating White men to being ruled over and dominated by blacks, who are clearly inferior, they can better ensure that the White man will experience the maximum degree of humiliation, emasculation, psychological demoralization and physical and emotional suffering.

    I think this is also what motivates jews to shove black male-white female pairings in the face of the White male. Back in the old days, when the Hollywood Production Code was in place – that kind of thing was not tolerated, because America was still lead by the traditional WASPs. Post 1968, and the end of the Production Code – the jews have been deliberately rubbing our White male noses in the defilement of our women and the ultimate genocide of our entire race.

    They are mocking us, folks. Daring us to do or say anything about what they are doing.

    It occurs to me that this is a very dangerous game they are playing. One does not poke a stick at a rattlesnake or a tiger who is sleeping. Not unless one wants to get a very nasty response. And, perhaps this self-destructive characteristic of theirs is, in some bizarre way, an invitation for a response?

    Are White men up to the challenge, I wonder?

    As for the second group, those who refuse to wake up – I tend to follow the policy of not casting pearls before swine. These White numbskulls aren’t worth saving, and once Amerikwa collapses and breaks apart, and we have our White Ethnostate – we can load these numbskulls on giant catapults and fling them over into the black or mestizo or other third world ethnostates, so they can enjoy all the diversity they claim to love so much, first hand.

    I can’t imagine any logical reason to complain about revealing the evil subversion that is so often encoded in movies. I think I can mention a film that is one of the worst transgressions in modern memory-it’s called “Half Nelson.” Oh MAN. This film encapsulates everything that we are fighting against in one fell swoop. It’s the unlikely story of a crackhead progressive white teacher in an inner city school who befriends a wise young black girl. I will forever HATE Ryan Gosling for being a part of this drivel. The film was written by a couple of self hating white marxist idiots, and the social justice crap beats you over the head throughout the entire film. Lessons from Mario Salvo and Engels abound. The white “power structure,” the “machine,” is VERY bad and it keeps blacks down.
    I’m a teacher, and I have NEVER known or heard of any teacher who was a crackhead. It’s ludicrous. It’s a projection of hatred and self loathing onto the white race by a couple of idiotic marxist filmmakers.
    It was not a big film, certainly, but the reviews at RT are glowing and the ratings very high. The indie crowd apparently takes great pleasure in the depiction of a white degenerate selling out his own kind.

    I agree with the article but much of the ‘programming’ is possible because of the ‘mass appeal’ requirement of Hollywood. Most of these Denzel/Freeman ‘reverse stereo-types’ are not exactly critical successes. eg. You don’t see real artists like Scorcese making films with Super-black gangsters, black geniuses, black guy playing Howard Hughes etc.

    So the 3rd Worlders watch all this unrealistic **** but there’s as many whites watching Twilight, Harry Potter, comic book (jew) super-heroes. To be honest, if I had children, I’d rather point them to Vin Diesel/Denzel style tough guys than effeminate whites, boy wizards (lol), queer superhero fantasies.

    Sorry but the subtle (important) media conditioning happened 10-50 years ago… today is just the inevitable result of a free-market system.

If there’s one thing that really riles me it’s having to bear witness to the daily onslaught of Jewish brainwashing of all those people I hold near and dear and everything I cherished in my youth. The Jews really kicked into gear and started to work their magic in the early 60′s, and it slowly progressed since then. Only with the coming of Obama did the Jews kick into overdrive and really show their true colors of their animosity towards Whites. And if you list the movies, you can see the transformation of public perception that coincides with the films. Some of the big heavy hitters:

    Feminism:
    1979 Alien
    1997 Contact
    To just name a few. The list is endless. And don’t forget the puns Jews have between themselves as a joke to see who can take cheap shots at Christianity without anyone noticing, such as Steven Spielberg’s ‘War of the Worlds’. Do you recall the scene that the church split in two, then the steeple fell, and the rose window smashed and the sun shined through? Just one of many movies that Jews mock Christianity and have plenty to laugh about and pat each other on the back.

    And it’s not just Hollywood. Most of the large advertisiing companies are run by Jews. The largest in the world is WPP. It’s run by Jews Phil Lader (CFR member) and Martin Sorrell. Most of the commercials and ads you see of Black men with blondes and dumbass Whites are made by WPP and its dozens of subsidiaries.

    Another film on this point, which I believe has Denzel Washington, was Book of Eli, a not-too-bad addition to the post-apocalyptic subgenre. Although the film does have something of a veiled pro-Christian message, in that the “book” in question is the Bible, virtually all the evil characters are white Europeans. Denzel Washington(black), M. Kunis(Jewish), and her screen mother(half black) are the only good main characters, while all the other speaking roles are white and evil. In this movie, the numinous negro has been downgraded from God to simply prophet, however.

    Germany is the only country in the world where the “sins of the father” have been “visited on the children (and grandchildren)”. WHY?
    Nazism pales in comparison with communism yet people of the “tribe” STILL make excuses for communism, stating that “communism was not properly applied” and that “mistakes were made”.
    I, for one, am tired of seeing Germany being made an example of, when it comes to totalitarian governments. The political situation in pre-WW2 Germany was volatile (to say the least). Outside agitators made it easier to marginalize certain groups of German citizens with questionable loyalties. This made it possible for Adolph Hitler to gain power . . .
    . . . However, the demonization of Germany has a much greater purpose–to deflect criticism from that great “invention” of the “tribe”–communism.
    The “tribe” took a relatively minor event in world history and turned it into a “cash cow” that “keeps on giving”. Influential leaders of the “tribe” were willing participants in the destruction of their own people and did so to force the creation of a “homeland”.
    It is no secret that members of the “tribe” who wielded power in communist-dominated countries were hated (with good reason). Domination by Germany was seen as preferable to living under the boot heels of their communist oppressors. This was the reason why so many oppressed people volunteered to “help” the Germans “take care of business”. . .
    . . . those that lived under the artificially induced “famines” in the Ukraine come to mind. It is only natural to want to destroy your oppressors when the opportunity presents itself.
    To this day, events that led up to WW2 Germany are conveniently “dismissed” while the self-inflicted “troubles” that the “tribe” endured are displayed as if they happened yesterday . . .

And if the subject is really critical and in your face, then the Jews always find a Gentile as a front man. Two perfect examples: The Davinci Code (Ron Howard) and Avatar (James Cameron). One movie attacks the church while the other attacks White males. And the Jews do the same with major legislation such as the 1965 Immigration Act, where they used good ole’ backstabbing Ted Kennedy as the sponsor. We see this modus operandi time and time again.

    Speaking of Israel, I keep seeing WN’s saying that they support Israeli nationalism as well because to do otherwise would be “hypocritical.” They don’t seem to see that this, again, is a symptom of White universalism.

    A true WN would support WN but not Jewish nationalism, the same way Jews support their own nationalism but not WN. A true WN recognizes the jew as the enemy, and seeks to enact policies that render the jew incapable of causing harm to Whites. One aspect of this is denying the jew a sanctuary that he can retreat to when he gets in trouble in other nations.

    Israel is not a Jewish homeland, it’s a Jewish base of operations. Most jews have no intention of ever living in Israel because they have no one to exploit there. If WN’s were smart they would be encouraging multiculturalism in Israel and ethnonationalism in their own lands specifically as a way to combat the jew.

    It is beyond me how the author could sit through all these movies without going nuts. The first time I started seeing blacks put in leading heroic roles in movies, I simply stopped going to Hollywood movies altogether! This was sometime in the early 1980′s I believe. The only time I have gone to see a movie since is if I am completely sure that I will not be offended by the subject or characters. Part of the problem with White Americans is that they are so Hollywood dependent and sports dependent, that they can’t live without. My attitude to Hollywood is that I don’t care what they create. It’s all bad! I don’t try looking for the gems in the manure pile. I don’t need the products of Hollywood or professional sports to fulfill my existence as a human being! I am beyond that!

    Regarding the positive image of the Bible, note that it is in conjunction with a BLACK character. I honestly cannot think of even one modern Hollywood film that pairs good Whites with a positive portrayal of Christianity. The only good Christian images I’ve seen come with BLACKS. For instance, the long-suffering wife of an unfairly condemned black man is wearing a cross necklace in (gads) Clint Eastwood’s “True Crime.” (The “true crime,” of course, is the way Whites oppress blacks with racism.) Normally, a cross worn by a character signals he/she is malevolent killer.     Have you seen Martin Sheen’s son Charlie in “Under Pressure”? The famous helicopter/ceiling fan scene from Martin’s “Apocalypse Now” is recreated for the son’s film. In the former, there is no cross necklace, but in the latter Charlie Sheen clearly wears one. To no one’s surprise, he turns out to be a Bible-quoting psycho killer.

    Or getting back to Denzel Washington, notice the positive church scene in the tear jerker “John Q.” The family prays in an overwhelming black church, just before the black son goes to his baseball game, where he is felled by a defective heart. (Guess what race the cruel doctors and insurance people are.)

    There are still some films out there that show blacks for whom they are. Can’t think of any at the moment, but I’ve seen some on the old movie channel. Of course, the pinnacle of showing blacks as they are would be the TV show Hill Street Blues, it is quite shocking what they put in that. Back in 1982, it also won Emmy awards for its ‘realistic portrayal’ of inner city life. After the Cold War (ended), in the mid 90′s things started to change immediately. The TV show Northern Exposure showed this transaction pretty good. The Millionaire/Astronaut Morice was played ‘straight’, that is, they didn’t have to ‘exagerate’ his conservatism, you got laughts off him being a normal conservative. In the TV show ‘The Office’ (American) they did the opposite, they play the White ‘Republican’ types as bumbling barfoons, white the Liberal commies are the ‘normal’ ones.
    Most recent is the confusing Subway commercial, where the black ‘captain’ of the unit stole the subway of the bumbling white guy. It I suppose, with the White female going ‘wow’ is supposed to be condencending to the White guy, making the black guy ‘cool’ for stealing his subway? I don’t really get it, it makes the black guy look bad, but thats probably not what people are supposed to think.

    There is compelling evidence that the movie “The Hurricane” is a work of fiction. Carter’s getaway car was described perfectly by a witness, and shells were found in the car that were the same caliber of the gun that was used to commit the murders. It’s highly probable that either Carter or one his thug friends committed the crime.

    BTW, the Hurricane Carter – Joey Giardello middleweight championship fight from 1964 is on youtube. In the movie Hurricane Carter beats the hapless Giardello from ringpost to ringpost while rap music blares. Racist judges prevent the Hurricane from winning the title. In the actual fight, Giardello wins fairly comfortably (about 10 rounds to 5).

    As for black actors replacing whites, I recall reading an article decades ago (Time – if I am not mistaken), in which the author stated that blacks were such good actors that they could replace whites in white roles. At that point, I figured this was a sign of things to come.

    I have known many people of colour in my life, some good, some bad. I have always tried to take people – even Jews – as they come. I can honestly say that I have only met one Negro who I thought was close to my level of intelligence. He worked in IT, an area in which I have little knowledge, and lesser inclination. Even their alleged athletic prowess is overblown. Other than the issue raised above, I concur completely with Edmund Connelly.

    @Joe: Telling people to boycot something never really works, it’s always temporary because the people succomb to the need of consuming the boycotted product. For example, there used to be boycotts of gas stations (one different corporation each week) around 2002-2003, it never worked.

    If you want to change people’s behavior, you have to persuade them and make them understand why it’s bad to consume it. So our main goal is to make them understand that what they are watching at the cinema is basically an attack against them and part of the hostile system (ok, we should use less complicated concepts). In other words, people have to realize that they participate in their own dispossession. So how do we persuade white people that they are participating in their own dispossession? From the top : you teach people about the hostile elite and the techniques of propaganda (its main mission being trying to eradicate white ethnic solidarity). From the bottom : criticizing movies and speaking about it with your friends, other people (“hey, how come the black guy is often smart and the white guy usually stupid?”, “why are movies so far from reality?”, “why do they promote so much racial diversity?”, “how come you never see a gang entirely made of black criminals?, “why is the supreme bad guy always an old white person?”, etc).

    First, thanks Mr. Connelly for this and your other articles. Many of us have been onto some of the psyops but you bring up many points and specifics that we might not have known. There are also good talking points for trying to bring some of the opposition to their senses (white supporters of anti-white propaganda and attacks). It is also good to know that someone is on the case.

    Secondly, and this is especially @Jason Ping: I wouldn’t be so sure about future events. We are living in a time that is similar to the fall of the Roman Empire but it is happening much faster. The USA is collapsing. In addition, I would bring to your attention the book Civil War II by Thomas Chittum. Read it and get back to us after reading it cover to cover. You might realize that YOU have not been very logical about this issue. Take a look at the maps and pay special attention to his analysis of demographics and other factors contributing to the outcome. One thing that Chittum didn’t take into account is native intelligence and other abilities of those involved. He seems to believe that all of the races have the same potential, intellectual and otherwise. He pobably blames teachers for not bringing innner city blacks up to par academically. That is a pretty big mistake but the other aspects of his book are quite sensible. Also, pay careful attention to the section on the signs that Civil War II is almost upon us. Almost all of the large number of signs have already occured.

    My mother eats up Denzel Washington flicks like there is no tomorrow!     There seems to be a sub-genre of ‘Race Flicks’ directed just at White Women. Fare such as ‘Save the Last Dance’ and especially more recently ‘The Help’. I don’t think I am ever going to be able to see any of Emma Stones flicks ever again because of that one.

    But I gotta bring up ‘Breaking Bad’ where Walter White and Jesse Pinkman(pink man..get it), after four seasons of making goofy mistakes, finally ‘get over’ on the Mexican meth mob. Walter gets the Los Hermanos chicken guy, ‘White guy 1, Hispanic 0.’
    Also, most recently ‘Savages’ had a couple of white guy pot dealers who were big time, confront and beat the Mexican cartel so the score was ‘White guys 1, Hispanics 0.’ The movie is by Oliver Stone who is sort of half Jewish(but enlisted VN vet from what I know) and maybe he saw that after thirty years, white guy success translates into popularity.
    Yeah the white guys are heavy druggies but at least they won.

    Television aimed at children has been replacing whites with minorities since the 1970s with The Electric Company and Sesame Street. Today it’s hard to even find a white male child in a television show on PBS. Even The Cat Cat in the Hat has totally rewritten itself to omit the white male. In the current version Nick and Sally are no longer siblings. Instead, Nick is a nondescript brown/black friend to Sally. Sesame Street is completely devoted to multiculturalism. The only white male child I found in the local line up turned out to be a Jewish character named Wyatt. Okay, there is the one white male child in the show Sid the Science Kid, but he is a fringe character to the intelligent, and black, Sid. Oh, yeah, he’s also seemingly mentally challenged and the butt of the jokes on the show. The rest of the characters are the typical rainbow assortment of white girls and minorities.

    It’s odd that so many people write about the subversive impact of movies on adults, while the indoctrinating of children is worse, more obvious and has been going on for longer.

However…I grew up on a military base and I can assure you that no crew of gangbangers would be able to takeover a military base.
    You think our government hasn’t already considered what might happen and cooked up some plans? They’ve already made it legal to grab people for just about anything under the label of “terrorist.” No doubt they are also willing to use our own military against us, and round us up and shove us into Fema camps.     @Shiva: I agree with you on all points about “American History X.” Internally, it just doesn’t hold up at all.

    Still, the points you mention are routine for today’s Hollywood. I think where they got confused or missed it was in the fact that Norton did an incredible job of making his character HIGHLY ADMIRABLE. Further, he and his kid brother started out as typical LA kids but blacks killed their fireman dad. In other words, there was good reason for the boys to become race realists.

    As for Ethan Suplee, yes, that’s him. And I use a medley of his roles to contrast images with Denzel. See Suplee in the above film, then “John Q,” then “Remember the Titans,” then finally “Unstoppable.” I wrote about that scene here last year.

    Have you ever heard of the term controlled opposition? The purpose of the enemy planting people in the position of a leader role of their opposition is so that they can speak alot of truth to gain followers in order that at critical junctions, they can move those that follow these plants in the direction the enemy desires.

    Another fuction of these plants is to make sure that ultimate truths are not accepted by the mainstream of the enemies opposition because if these ultimate truths are accepted, it would be too damaging to their plans.

    Edmund, Norton did do a great job and he and Fairuza Balk went to record shops trying to buy White Power music, nobody sold it, so he said in one shop: “You have all this cop-killing gangsta thug rap but not the White music?”

    What is one of the most interesting things connected to American History X is a story told by one of the stage-hands who worked on the film, he said that the original script ending by McKenna was of Edward Norton’s character shaving his head in the bathroom looking at his face in the mirror. I can well understand why the Jewish director and money people put the kibosh on that.

    The more you continue, the more you end up decontructing yourself for all to see. My claim has not changed one bit nor has it been proven wrong. On the contrary, you keep proving me right while what you claim is every changing, conflicting, hypocritical, unscientific- and all supported by culturally Marxist and Evolutionary religious view (I say religion because what you believe is not actual science) and the M.O you use to try to “support the white man” are ALWAYS Jewish tactics.     “Gentleman’s Agreement” had the sole purpose of smearing the Euro-American taxpayers, voters, workers, and leaders who maintained steadfastness in fighting World War II. It was a vicious thank-you note to all the white Americans for their sacrifices in World War II, and it didn’t take long to deliver.

    In a way, she paid for “Gentleman’s Agreement” by what AP described on Monday as “a bitter, multiyear legal family battle that pitted her two sons against her and her fifth husband — former waiter Basile, whom she married in 2004 and was more than 45 years her junior. The court fight over investments and inheritance wiped away much of her savings and left her dependent on Social Security. The actress and her sons no longer spoke, and she was sued for overdue maintenance and legal fees on her Manhattan apartment.”

    While we shouldn’t take pleasure at seeing some justice measured out to this dreadful person, we can take a lesson and that is that the people she served so well refused to come to her aid in her old age (she was 95 when she passed) to show some gratitude for her part in the anti-white narrative promoted now in almost every film made. And consider the irony…even though she made a film to cast her kin into disrepute, she was cast aside by those whose interests she supported in this hate film. Not a bad lesson for those tempted to promote the campaign of defamation by Hollywood against us.

    It’s jewish homosexuals that run hollywood, and the media if we are going to be truthful. Why would anyone expect anything less? The mainstreaming of tv and movies depictions of the straight white male are mainly negative. Becuase jewish homosexuals don’t like stright white males? It is a basic answer yet fits perfectly. Notice how many more homosexuals are out and about? Oprah has continues to push gay actors, and musicians, thsi monster brainwashes more white women what to think than any other? really a grossly overweight negro tells your women what to think on many subjects? it’s amazing how back asswards life in USA has become. You get what you deserve, for letting it get this bad?

    Excellent article, too bad it is so accurate. I’m curious as to how many people who frequent these boards are proactively spreading what’s going on in the entertainment industry and how toxic it really is.

    I’ve read Connelly’s articles before on other movies and have paraphrased some of the points he makes on other boards, youtube, etc and have gotten positive, or at least open minded responses.

    I don’t belabor any points or argue w/anyone, but just chime in with an off the cuff observation and then move on.

    I wonder if the author of this article has ever written reviews for IMDB? It’s free and easy and a great way to reach tons of people. My two cents anyhow :)

    @Lisa: Good suggestions. I made a similar one on the part II thread. I went to the most watched (195,000 views) youtube trailer for FLIGHT and made a total of three comments (after being challenged on my first): the challenger came back and admitted I had a point. I do believe it might be useful to post racially-conscious views of these movies on youtube and other forums. Anything that gets people thinking – even for a brief moment – is good.

    There are two things that make this Hollywood anti-white propaganda work. The complicit stupidity of the white public and the knowing white race traitors in positions of power and authority. Why do we continually whine about the bad behavior of alien races that are out to get us, does anyone really expect them to be nice if we rebuke them? Starting to turn things around can be as simple as having nothing to do with them, persona non grata, unacceptable, ignored, snubbed, walked out on, ….etc.
