New anthology book
ESSAYS ON NATIONAL SOCIALISM AND THE THIRD REICH
Thomas Dalton, PhD, editor

In cooperation with Clemens & Blair LLC publishers, we are initiating a new book project, to be  comprised of all-new essays related to truthful, objective, and positive assessments of National Socialist Germany and its leading advocates. After decades of false, slanderous, and misleading demonization by mainstream Western press and academia, it is time to present a fair and honest account of the many remarkable accomplishments of Adolf Hitler and his compatriots during the years 1920 (the advent of NS ideology) to 1945.

This book will be a celebration of the victories and triumphs of the Third Reich, in all aspects of society. It has much to teach us in the present day. Despite any shortcomings, NS Germany contained much that should be honored, cherished, and preserved for posterity.

Topics that could be addressed include:
• The historical and philosophical basis for National Socialism.
• NS women’s issues: improvements to their health and well-being, political rights,
respect, etc.
• NS health care improvements, health innovations, new medical treatments.
• NS race theory, eugenics, and euthanasia: the true story.
• Technical achievements of NS Germany.
• Social and economic achievements of NS Germany.
• Is there such a thing as “Hitlerism”? If so, what is it? And how does it differ from both Aryanism and National Socialism?
• Hitler and others of the time spoke frequently of the importance of “blood”, meaning roughly, race or ethnicity. Given that we do not use such terminology today, and in light of modern genetics, how might one interpret these ideas of “blood”?
• A nominal “core” of National Socialism: Does one exist? What is it?
• The Jewish Question: What was the true meaning of this?
• Consequential and innovative ideas in the thinking of leading NS intellectuals, such as Joseph Goebbels and Alfred Rosenberg.
Other topics are of course welcome, provided they conform with the general theme of the book.

Objectives:
1) To produce a book of high-quality writings—well-researched but lively—on the above issues.
2) To bring truth and insight to a topic drowning in falsehood and slander.
3) To inspire future thinkers and leaders.
4) To bring in and develop new voices and younger activist/scholars.
5) To give an outlet for women contributors, who have often been dismissed or sidelined in
present-day “dissident right” or “alt-right” discussions.

Goal: We hope to collect 15 to 20 high-quality, well-researched essays to serve as chapters in this
book. Writings must be new or significant modifications to previously published on-line essays.

Specific Details:
• Prospective contributors may submit an original essay of 5,000 to 10,000 words in length, electronically, as a Word file. (Word count applies to main body text, not notes or bibliography).
• All sources should be identified, using proper academic footnoting. Use in-text citations—e.g. (Dalton 2018: 86-88)—to minimize notes. Use footnotes rather than endnotes. Cite all sources and quotations, but otherwise keep both length and number of notes to a minimum.
• Include a bibliography at the end of the submission.
• All references to Mein Kampf must use the new Dalton translation. References to Hitler and Goebbels on Jewish matters should likewise cite Dalton’s Hitler on the Jews or Goebbels on the Jews.
• The use of pejorative terms like ‘Nazi’ and ‘neo-Nazi’ should be avoided wherever possible, unless required by the context.

Prospective contributors must initially submit (1) a working title, (2) an abstract of the essay (less than 250 words), and (3) a short biography, including publishing history.
• Note: We will allow writers to use pseudonyms, but they must be “real” names, not Twitter handles or cartoon avatars.
• ABSTRACTS AND WORKING TITLES ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED.

    Long overdue. I look forward to it. Perhaps the demonization of Adolf Hitler can now at last be countered by a proper appreciation of his achievement in disallowing the Bolshevization of Europe.

    One hole I’d like to see filled relates to the arts (not specifically addressed in the bullet points above), specifically relating to classical music – who were the major composers, what were their contributions in the Third Reich and its sphere of influence in Europe during the war. Listening to classical music radio, there’s plenty of accolades for Soviet composers. For example, Prokofiev and his family lived in the USA and Europe but returned to the USSR in 1936. Yet of German composers (and others from areas occupied by Germany), we only hear of those who ‘escaped Nazi oppression’.

      The quoted sentence is true only if “we” is understood to refer to the public at large and not to serious music lovers. Those in the latter category, of whom the distinguished TOO contributor Brenton Sanderson is one (and the rather less distinguished moi-même is another), would doubtless mention the names Hans Pfitzner, Richard Strauss, Walter Braunfels, Franz Schmidt, and Carl Orff as major composers who remained in Germany or Austria during the NS era. In addition, Paul Hindemith, whose music was greatly esteemed by Furtwängler and other leading musicians, would certainly not have relocated to Switzerland had it not been for his having two strikes against him: (1) Goebbels detested his music on stylistic grounds and actively undermined Hindemith’s career; and (2) Hindemith’s wife was partly Jewish by ancestry. Although similar marital circumstances were not a liability for many other musicians and artists, in Hindemith’s case it seems to have fed Goebbels’s animus. He was warned to leave Germany for his wife’s health.

      Then there is the Austrian Anton Webern, whose full story would require at least an essay to tell. Suffice to say that on the one hand Webern was an authentic German nationalist, in matters of both life and art. Although Webern had little to no interest in politics, his son Peter was a dedicated party member and died in uniform on active duty three months before the German surrender. Webern himself was killed in September 1945 by a trigger-happy GI, whose own consequent guilt and remorse brought him to an early death ten years later.

      On the other hand, there are the matters of Webern’s musical style and his close connection with the Jewish emigré Arnold Schoenberg. Webern was, by a long shot, the most musically radical composer of his era, and it was for the style of his music alone that he was formally condemned by the party, barred from all academic and administrative positions, and with his family, nearly driven to starvation. Despite being a devout Catholic and a descendant of Austrian nobility on both parents’ sides, Webern was also frequently but dishonestly denounced as a Jew solely because of his association and friendship with Schoenberg. Whatever may be said about his music—it will forever be caviar to the general—Webern bore his lot with Christian patience and forbearance.

        The book under discussion is aimed at the “public at large” and not “serious music lovers” such as yourself, nor will it be about “serious music” in the Third Reich.
        Since the TOO editor thought it wise to remove the word “celebrate” from the book title — as in “Hail Victory! Essays Celebrating National Socialism and the Third Reich” — it follows that any essay about music in the 3rd Reich would be directed more toward what measures were taken to ensure the entire nation was afforded the opportunity to enjoy the highest-quality music, especially that produced by Germans … rather than about German music itself.

        In the case of Paul Hindemith, he was working in the “expressionist and atonal” international style, similar to the horrible noise produced by Jew Arnold Schoenberg, whom he considered his mentor. As to just how “greatly esteemed” Hindemith was by the great Furtwängler, it is true that F. defended him in 1934 as a “modern composer” who might bring some international approval NS Germany’s way. Maybe so, but the negatives outweighed the positives in Goebbels’ mind.

        Anton Webern was a core member of the Second Viennese School, which included the Czech “degenerate” composer Ernst Krenek and Jew Theodor Adorno, of the Frankfurt School of critical theory. Webern’s music was so radical it even influenced Schoenberg himself. Oh, but he was Catholic and of high birth! Too far removed from the ‘general population’ to be appreciated by the ignorant, according to our resident snob.

    Excellent idea for a book. Thomas Dalton has himself written several excellent books on the Jews, the holocaust, and on Hitler and Goebbels, including I believe a translation of Mein Kampf. Even though the forthcoming book will no doubt be of high quality in its scholarship and analysis, it will no doubt suffer some censorship. (Alibris is still selling some “taboo” books that have been banned from other online sellers.) M.S. King had all of his “non-controversial” books banned from Amazon recently for no apparent reason. The censorship is a major problem in educating the masses as to the truth of the 1930s and 1940s.

    Dear Doctor Dalton,

    Excellent! The Anglo-Saxon world greatly lacks factual objective scholarship with regard to National Socialism, just as with Fascism. I suggest you make your request available to scholars in Europe and Latin America also, including the Antipodes. Specifically Germany where there is a tremendous amount of historical investigation and research that many are not aware of. I am informed of this by a German friend of mine. Also, to Italy which has had an historicism on all aspects of Fascism since 1945, to this very day, from all perspectives, and within which profound studies at times National Socialism cannot be avoided for obvious reasons.

    I do have a question: Why consider Nazism and Neo-Nazism pejorative terms? Those I have known from Germany who lived through the National Socialist experience, and favoured it then and after the war, never considered Nazism a contemptuous term. Anyone of them, Germans, would have explained that it was an acronym for National Socialism. As for Neo-Nazism, well if you have experienced post-World War II Europe there is this sociological phenomenon especially and above all with the youth which was born out of a depressing view of life and a need to find an answer to one’s existence but outside the context of 1930’s Germany. And here I am not referring to those organisations that are set up by millionaire subversives. The analogy is Neo-Fascist that is also not a disapproved term. It simply signifies that one hasn’t experienced the Ventennio and World War II: it was born out of the AFTERMATH of the annihilation of Fascist Italy. And I do not omit the logical philosophical question by Professor Anthony James Gregor that much more needs to be proven that there is truly, respectively, a Neo-Fascism and Neo-Nazism. I see his point: many of the youth were sincere yet misguided, I knew not a few, who unfortunately weren’t culturally prepared, and it seemed many times that without a sound foundation these political formations were more cerebral than actually of a concrete coherent politcal organisation.

    Do persevere and forward your historical request to sound and scholarly Europeans also. I will attempt to help out. God Bless Aristo Boho

    Thanks to everyone for the positive, and encouraging, responses. It’s a long process, to produce a new book like this, but we think it is worthwhile and important. PDQ: yes, good point, we should include something on artistic accomplishments, music in particular. Certainly we are open to that topic. Aristo: agreed, we are open to contributors from all parts of the world. We are reaching out, but any help is appreciated, so please forward this proposal on to your friends and colleagues. (FYI, ‘Nazi’ was considered pejorative by Hitler and most of the NS leadership, and we are trying to follow their example. And more pointedly, the term has been slandered beyond repair by our opponents; since the Germans themselves did not use it, we need not either.)

      Only “worthwhile and important”?? No, I think it is ESSENTIAL to have empirical studies of National Socialism. The picture of Germans in the 30’s that Hollowood and our corrupt academics have proffered is one of the Big LIes of all time. This Lie is foundational in the establishment of post war Jewish Power and neo liberalism. World War 11 – and the distorted picture of National Socialism that helped rationalize the War- allowed the Jews to run wild in the post war west. Nothing has changed in the intellectual and artistic representations of of Germany in this period. We still get the WASP – Jewish stereotypes of Hitler and his people, I am hungry to read about the real National Socialism as opposed to the “Nazi” bilge which the media – academic complex continues to spew out.

      What you are doing is a GREAT service to white people of the West. I can’t wait to buy the book.

    Right now I am reading an excellent book by David Irving about Joseph Goebbels prior to WWII. It is factual, not crazy hollywood propoganda. It is interesting how they call him the master of propoganda when it is really them who are masters at twisting the truth.
    Also, it talks about exactly what is going on in our streets today. Communists fighting Nationalists in the street. And just like then, the media and all the other useful idiots are on the side of the Communists. It is hilarious seeing some of the apologists saying that the Nationalists were Anftifa. The great news is that the Nationalists won. And they started very, very small.
    I am looking forward to reading more of Irvings histories.
    And yes, I support this effort. We need any and all information that is not ruined through lens of our media/academia/tribal masters.
