They’ve Learned Nothing and Forgotten Nothing

June 24, 2022/12 Comments/in General/by Ann Coulter
They’ve Learned Nothing and Forgotten Nothing

Bill Barr, two-time attorney general and one of approximately 2.5 members of the Trump administration to leave with his reputation intact, has also written one of only two books about that administration worth reading, “One Damn Thing After Another.” I’ve read ’em all. At least partially. Most did not merit more than a quick skim.

[For those interested, the other book about the Trump administration worth reading is Michael Wolfe’s “Fire and Fury,” but judging by its sales, you probably already have this book.]

I’ve been a fan of Barr’s since long before he worked for Trump, and was thrilled when he became Trump’s A.G. But when I got to Barr’s description of Trump’s appeal — which went on for pages and pages! — I wanted to throw the book out the window.

You can probably guess where I’m headed.

By Barr’s lights, none of Trump’s positives involved … immigration.

They will not learn. No matter what we do, no matter how many times Americans tell pollsters they want less immigration, no matter how loudly we beg Washington to halt the endless flow of the Third World into our country, the ruling class refuses to listen.

If electing a cretinous flimflam artist to the presidency solely on the strength of his promise to be a hard-ass on immigration didn’t wake them up, nothing ever will.

The first clue about the absolute thickheadedness of anyone living within 100 miles of our nation’s capital was this deeply concerning line from Barr’s book:

“I had long planned on supporting Jeb Bush for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.”

Next, Barr turns to the political landscape that allowed such a preposterous creature as Trump to sail to victory. “The source of the problem, as I saw it,” he writes, “was the growing strength in the Democratic Party of a Far Left progressive ideology that aimed to tear down and remake American society.” Trump, Barr writes, was merely the result of “our embittered politics,” a bitterness “engendered not by Trump but by the increasing militance of the Democratic Party’s progressive wing.”

Yeah, OK, fine. He gets two points for accurately describing how loathsome Democrats have become. How about the elected Republicans we send to Washington to represent us? It’s you guys we really hate. If it were only progressive Democrats voters detested, why NOT Jeb-exclamation point? Why not John “My Father Was a Postman” Kasich?

No one imagines that Democrats give a crap about the country. It’s Republicans who run for office, pretending to agree with the voters on immigration — then get into office and sell out to the Chamber of Commerce.

Oh, you wanted a wall? Yes, absolutely, but first we have to pass these tax cuts, lavish billions of dollars on some foreign country and push through another Wall Street bailout.

For 50 years, in poll after poll, a majority of Americans have said they want LESS immigration. Even the Cheap Labor Lobby at the Cato Institute produced a poll last year showing that 81% of Americans want less immigration than we have today. Sixty-one percent of respondents want to cut immigration by at least half. Ten percent of Americans want zero immigration.

Unfortunately, everything Trump was ever going to accomplish was accomplished at 2:50 a.m. on election night 2016, when he announced his victory over Hillary Clinton. (Everything other than turning judicial selection over to the Federalist Society.) At that moment, the densest Republican had to realize that restricting immigration is so popular that even a lout like Trump could win the presidency on it.

After 2016, how could any sentient mammal begin a sentence, as Barr does, “But the main reason Trump won the nomination — and later the general election — was …,” and not end it with: “IMMIGRATION!”? (I’ll accept a range of substitutes — the wall, illegals, Dreamers, “Press 1 for English,” wages lost to cheap labor immigrants, Kate Steinle, the 9/11 attack — did the media forget to tell you that was done by immigrants? — the drug epidemic, etc., etc.)

Not Barr. He reels off the standard RNC suicide pact, prattling about the “economy,” “military power,” “pro-life” and school choice.

Yes, Trump won in 2016 because of school choice.

You could “Ctrl + F: immigration” through Barr’s entire book and get nary a hit, other than general references to “the Immigration and Naturalization Service” — and this:

Before one of the 2016 presidential debates, Barr is careful to note that he contacted a friend on the candidate’s team to suggest that Trump say, “we welcome legal immigrants, and … Latin Americans who come here legally — people with a strong work ethic and family values — contribute enormously to the country.”

And that’s how Jeb-exclamation point won the nomination and the general election!

Just this week, Republican Sen. John Cornyn was spotted on the Senate floor, seeming to propose amnesty, collegially telling a Democrat, “First guns, now it’s immigration.”

In Cornyn’s defense, he is massively stupid.

But Barr? He’s a smart man. And yet he picked up nothing from the Shock-the-World 2016 election of Donald Trump — except tax cuts and a strong military?

Referring to the monumental arrogance of the Bourbon kings, blithely assuming they could revert to the very behavior that had led to the explosion of the French Revolution in the first place, Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand is supposed to have said, “They have learned nothing, and forgotten nothing.”

The French nobility’s got nothing on the Republican Party.

    Lots to comment on here.
William Barr’s father was the dean of the school that gave a young Jeffrey Epstein a teaching position without credentials. I wish I could remember all the other intel on Barr that came out when Trump appointed him. Barr is no friend of white nationalists, that’s for sure.

Immigrants did 911? I would not call Jewish Neo-Cons immigrants, and neither would they.

The French Revolution was not the fault of a forgetful unlearned nobility. I am close to finishing Nesta Webster’s book The French Revolution, A Study in Democracy. The Duc d’Orleans, Illuminized Freemasons (including Jews), French proto-Communists and foreign interests engineered and incited the riots and massacres. This may have been the first “revolution” that was orchestrated behind the scenes by manipulative forces. Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were not just innocent, they actively tried to help the People by counteracting the Revolutionaries’ strategies of creating an artificial famine, inciting desperate Parisians with propaganda, alcohol and even drugs intended to provoke aggressive madness, paid agents provocateurs, and subverting some police and military members.

Almost every “revolution” since 1790 has also been engineered in similar fashion. A casual glance today will reveal we are in the midst of another, perhaps the last before the New World Order Great Reset finale.

A very helpful and informative comment; thank you. Curiously, more than thirty years ago, Simon Schama’s “Citizens” made some of the same points you refer to—points still trivialized as revisionist or racist or whatever—especially with regard to the total reversal of the truth as to those who were trying to help the common people of France and those who were working to exploit and oppress them.

As, along with the specifics you cite, her misreading of Talleyrand’s famous quip shows, Ann Coulter is a dues-paid member of Conservatism Inc. Like the neocons whom she opposes with less consistency than she lets on, she by and large wholeheartedly espouses the Whig interpretation of history. For this reason, although she sometimes writes useful and insightful critiques of the (((enemies))) of historical white America, fundamentally she remains a person without a lot of depth, and as such, she cannot be deemed trustworthy on an across-the-board basis.

Anyone who can rule Epstein’s demise as suicide, despite the mountain evidence shouting that the creep was silenced by a third party, is neither honest nor intelligent. So much for Barr, Ann. No need to spend any ink analyzing the animal further.

Any political writer who still believes that 9/11 was an “attack” much less done by “immigrants” is not worth a second of my, or anyone else’s, time.

I have learned the hard way that if a politician does not openly and boldly proclaim they are for the White race it’s because they arent and so they won’t get my vote or my money. I am weary of the con game called vote for the lesser of two evils and I’m not falling for the two party swindle either, also known as : heads they win tails we lose.

Barr visited Epstein in his NYC cell shortly before Epstein died. He’s been a deep stater for long. It’s only a matter of determining whether he has flipped to the “white hats” and is carefully taking orders from them, on what to say or not and when, as other players have been doing.

The 2020 election was a fraud.

    How so?

    For example:

The US Constitution says that any change to a state’s election procedures (except perhaps for trivial things) MUST be approved by that state’s legislature.

Many states which suddenly started general “mail-in voting” did not formally approve of that change.

    ALL those votes were illegal.

Ann Coulter is controlled opposition. Much like the Washington Generals (The GOP) are to the cosmopolitan Harlem Globetrotters (The Democratic Socialists/ Communists). She makes loud statements that draw out outrage from the “true believers”, but she won’t name The Big Nose tribe that causes 99 44/100 % of all the World’s problem.
Tikkum Olam is a joke. Its like fixing what isn’t broke until its broken beyond repair. The tribe is a CANCER. They should be treated as such. The so-called “covenant” with God is through Jesus Christ who they vehemently DENY. The old covenant with Israel was broken when they started worshiping Babylonian gawds. Israel was destroyed for this blasphemy. Its no coincidence that the tribe follows “The Babylonian Talmud”.
The Ashkenazim are neo-Babylonians trying to rebuild Babylon. “Greater Israel” is just Ancient Babylon with the Egyptian Nile Valley added to it. This was due to The Freemasons that claim ancestry going back to Hiram Abiff, the architect of the Pyramids.
In 1776, The Freemasons and the Ashkenazim met at a Grand Meeting of the Illuminati, said to be headed by Satan himself, or a proxy. They decided the American and French Revolutions. They also had a plan for World Change through Revolution.
Later there was a plan to do this with Three World Wars. This was masterminded by Cecil Rhodes and sent to America through Confederate General Albert Pike a 33rd degree Freemason.
Civil War 1 was part of the plan to hobble America and force the erection of a New Central Bank through massive debts. Ulysses Grant started this going with the Federal Currency the Greenback.
Everything is a Conspiracy. The Paranoid are not crazy at all. The NSA spies on you, not “Arabs”. The FBI has eyes watching you from the local Post Office. The CIA is a wholly owned subsidiary of MOSSAD.
ISIS is in actuality the Israeli Secret Intel Service. Al Qaeda was a made up organization. Osama Bin Laden died before 9/11. The guy you saw was an actor trained by CIA.
The “War on Terror” is phony. Its a ploy to take away your rights to privacy and self-defense. Everything about the “Homeland Security” is a LIE. A BIG LIE. The Big Nose tribe is famous for those.
Bilderbergers. The Trilateral Commission. The U.N. All fronts. Freemasons, Shriners, Ashkenazim, and various other Satanic Secret Societies. Operating as a “Deep State”. A Solid State that doesn’t change as easily as the phony “elected” leaders. A Permanent Conspiracy going back all the way to 1776.
Enjoy your July 4th holiday. Brought to you by The Usual Suspects.

the 9/11 attack — did the media forget to tell you that was done by immigrants? —
    the drug epidemic, etc., etc

As far as I was aware, the worst Drug Epidemic was intentionally caused by the Sacklers with their vast and extremely agressive distribution of OxyContin. We will never know the real truth about how many victims there were of these souless vultures.
