Neither the quality of cartooning nor the quality of the audience published in THE WASHINGTON POST in the 1960s, when I read it first and then delivered ~150 copies before bureaucrats left for work and I left for school.

Mark Weber recently contrasted the Trump-Harris debate with the Lincoln-Douglas congressional debates. See the US NATIONAL PARK SERVICE online publication of them and at least the brief introductory paragraphs on those up to 5,000 who at considerable expense attended one of them. https://www.nps.gov/liho/learn/historyculture/debates.htm

Jack Ohman, the darling of the day,
His pen so sharp, or so they say.
With childlike wonder, he sees the world,
His insights profound, or so we’re told.

His scribblings grace the papers’ pages,
Hailed as wisdom for the ages.
Though his mind’s a simple place,
    He’s lauded with unending praise.

Awards and prizes line his shelf,
For art that’s hardly like himself.
The ruling class, they love his work,
    His zeitgeist-pleasing quirks.

He knows not what his drawings mean,
But that’s what makes them so pristine.
    Jack Ohman, our system’s pride,
His talent? Just along for the ride.

With every stroke, he hits the mark,
Though his own mind stays in the dark.
The powers that be, they sing his song,
Jack Ohman can do no wrong.

So here’s to Jack, our clueless friend,
Whose fame and fortune know no end.
A testament to our strange times,
    When ignorance so brightly shines.

P.S. He probably doesn’t even know that Loomer is Jewish…

One of fat pig Churchil’s foot soldiers escaped the evil Nazis only to fulfill his historic mission of finally establishing the mixed-race rule of the Dildocracy. His memoirs are worth their weight in gold today. True heroism belongs only to true heroes! A legacy that we all have to nurture! https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ceqnlynqpr7o
