Power Outage

I live in the Pacific Northwest where we had a monster windstorm that has knocked out power and is expected to last into Saturday night. So I won’t be on the website much.

But Merry Christmas anyway!

I’m retired. Used to live in New England.
I live in the Pacific Northwest now.
My power was out for hours. Not too long. No big deal. Got to try out my Sterno stoves and Alladin oil lamps.
If you don’t have at least one Alladin lamp get one NOW. Bright light and lots of heat.

Not only has much infrastructure maintenance and repair been taken over by DEI hires including not just government employees but contractors like those with SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON. Some haven’t been capable of even flagging traffic.

Southern California Edison (SCE) IT workers ‘beyond furious’ over H-1B replacements
About 500 IT jobs are cut at utility through layoffs and voluntary departures…”

We awoke to heavy overcast is in sunny southern California mountains after only nine MPH winds predicted for the last 24 hours with SCE crews behaving chaotically roadside in several areas near our home. And obviously they’ve been dealing with the sort of problems that caused them to replace a lot of poles and all high-voltage wires twice recently for fire prevention.

They are talking heavy rain by Christmas eve. Weather services like talking heads reading the news are behaving similarly.
