   Even at 78, Jean-Michel Jarre still looks as enviably youthful as a spring chicken because he’s the product of expensive cosmetic surgery. It seems as though time has passed through him without leaving a trace.

   Roland Orzabal of “Tears for Fears” has also provided catchy tunes that are hard to shake off throughout his life; however, I myself never liked their “tearful” sound and never owned any of their albums, even in the 1980s.

   To me, despite all the hype, their music is run-of-the-mill mainstream stuff, not to mention the trite “lyrics.” His duo was part of the “Second British Invasion” as an export hit designed to squeeze money out of the American market.

   But time hasn’t left him unscathed either (which, in turn, allows us to draw conclusions about ourselves); the former MTV pop star now looks (despite his partly Latin ancestry) like an average but likable British retiree.

   Suddenly, even he seems kind of likable to me—after all, we old farts have to stick together, especially in the age of “digital revolution” . Besides, it’s somehow comforting to see even these “stars” swimming in money rotting away.

   Now Roland has written his “astrological autobiography”—a curiosity in and of itself. Anyone who wants to sell a book these days has to come up with something special. In it, he apparently lists all his “untreated childhood wounds.”
