The World’s Worst Word: How Two Syllables Are Toppling a Titanic Civilization

Fifteen feet! That’s how long the recurrent laryngeal nerve is in a giraffe. And how long does it need to be? Maybe one-and-a-half feet. But the nerve is looped under an artery that’s got further away as the giraffe’s neck has evolved to be longer. That’s very bad design in a long-necked giraffe. But it wasn’t bad design in the no-necked fishy ancestor that giraffes share with humans, bats, frogs, and other vertebrates. As giraffes evolved longer and longer necks, that laryngeal nerve had to take a longer and longer diversion. Evolution produces anomalies. And that’s not just true of life. It happens in language too. Take these famous acronyms: USA, BBC, KFC. You can say each of them aloud in three swift syllables: Yoo Ess Ay, Bee Bee Cee, Kay Eff Cee.

Now here’s another famous acronym: WWW. How many syllables does that take to say aloud? Ridiculously, it takes nine syllables: Double-Yoo Double-Yoo Double-Yoo (or twelve syllables in Spanish, where W = dob-lé-oo-vé). Even more ridiculously, the underlying phrase takes three syllables: World Wide Web. Again, evolution has produced an anomaly. The letter V is the ancestor both of the letter U and, in doubled form, the letter W. So that’s why W is double-U and why the acronym WWW comprises three letters and nine syllables. It’s very bad design that could be very easily improved. We should pronounce W as “Wu,” not as “double-u.”

And what is the point of this wandering word-waffle? Well, I’d like to keep the topic of evolution and change the meaning of WWW. Let’s suppose it stands not for “World Wide Web” but for “World’s Worst Word.” In that case, what would be the Wu-Wu-Wu, the World’s Worst Word? I’d argue that it’s a word used, appropriately enough, for scaring people, as in “Woo! Woo! Woo!” Indeed, it’s a word used for terrifying people, something people hate to have applied to any of their opinions or deeds.

But when I say “people,” I mean “white people.” The Wu-Wu-Wu, the World’s Worst World, terrifies only White people and, with rare exceptions, is used only against White people. So what is the Wu-Wu-Wu? By now you may well have guessed. The Wu-Wu-Wu, the World’s Worst Word, is: “Racist.” Or rather: “Racist!” For best effect, the Wu-Wu-Wu has to be spat out, has to be said with venom, disgust and contempt. And with menace too. It is, after all, a menacing word. As the leftist media often inform us in great detail, an accusation of racism can (and should) end your career, sever your family ties and friendships, and turn you into a moral pariah. But the leftist media do not inform us that fear of seeming racist can have worse consequences still: it can kill you or maim and traumatize you for life.

Anti-Racism and Pro-Jasism

Yes, how many Whites have paid a horrible price for fear of seeming racist? It must be many thousands. Maybe even millions. All over the Western world, Whites have over-ridden their instincts about non-Whites, declined to avoid those non-Whites, and been raped, murdered or maimed as a consequence. White women have felt uneasy about following a Black man into an elevator or an underground car-park. White men have felt uneasy about a group of loitering Black youths on the sidewalk ahead. But those Whites have slapped themselves with the Wu-Wu-Wu, the World’s Worst Word. They’ve told themselves: “That’s racist!” And so they’ve ignored their instincts. They’ve followed the Black man into the elevator or walked on toward the Black youths. They’ve then been raped, murdered, mugged or otherwise experienced one of the Blessings of Blackness.

Fear of seeming racist has been killing Whites and getting Whites raped for many decades. It explains how Muslim rape-gangs have flourished wherever Muslims have enriched the West. It’s also been allowing Blacks and other non-Whites to evade accountability for incompetence and to enjoy success far beyond their merits. We’ve just seen a paradigmatic example of that in the saga of “Jason and the Arday-Nauts.” A Blatant Black Bullshitter called Jason Arday rose ever higher in academe because no-one was prepared to apply White standards to him. Like all non-Whites in the West, Arday knew the Wu-Wu-Wu, the World’s Worst Word, and was always ready to deploy it. That was part of how he reached the apex of academe and won the highly prestigious “Professorial Chair in the Sociology of Education” at the University of Cambridge in 2023. But Vee-Vee-Vee triumphed over Wu-Wu-Wu in the end. Yes, Veritas Vanquished Vibrancy: the truth was finally revealed by the Jewish philosopher Nathan Cofnas and Arday was forced to resign. But a White leftist called Nick Guyatt is still trying to deploy the Wu-Wu-Wu on Arday’s behalf. Guyatt is at Cambridge University himself and said this in the New Statesman: “My university must explain how Arday was appointed, and reject the racist narrative that this is the tip of the iceberg.” He then went on:

Commentators have been looking for any scrap of evidence that “woke” has taken over every institution — from the BBC to the NHS to Whitehall to our universities — and virtually no politician has pushed back against the narrative. The Arday story could hardly fail to set everything on fire, because this arid climate of racial animus has burned dry any genuine curiosity or understanding about diversity in the UK, still less any collective pride that our institutions may have begun to resemble just a little more closely the nation they serve. Instead we have a firestorm of racist and racist-adjacent commentary which not only passes judgement on Professor Arday’s apparent wrongdoing, but implicitly challenges the credentials and standing of every black and brown person who has supposedly benefited from the culture which awarded Arday his chair at Cambridge. […]

In the past fortnight, as people like Nathan Cofnas — a man who said under a true meritocracy black people would “disappear from almost all high-profile positions outside of sports and entertainment” — have been triumphantly touring the studios to say “I told you so” about Cambridge’s corruption by DEI, not a single figure from the university’s senior leadership has got behind a microphone to defend our researchers of colour and to reject the racist narrative that the Arday case is the tip of the iceberg.(“Jason Arday is Cambridge’s problem,” The New Statesman, 11th August 2026)

But what does Nick Guyatt really mean when he says “racist”? Like almost all other leftists who use the word, he doesn’t mean “untrue” or “factually wrong” or “contradicting reality.” Leftists don’t care about truth, facts or reality when it comes to race and other aspects of human biology. So what does “racist” really mean in leftist rhetoric? Well, I suggest that you have to translate the word to bring out its full meaning and explain its psychological power. When Guyatt says “the racist narrative,” we should mentally translate it as “the blasphemous narrative.” The concept of “racism” in leftism serves the same function as the concept of “blasphemy” in religion. The force of blasphemy is not that the transgressor is denying reality, but that the transgressor is defiling the sacred. Blasphemy isn’t about the factual, it’s about the phantasmal: the other-worldly realm of deities and spirits. But that other-worldly realm has this-worldly policemen. By blaspheming, you offend the priesthood and followers of a religion. And that can have fatal consequences:

The Christian proto-martyr St Stephen had an angelic face and an eloquent tongue. But they availed him naught. He thought he was speaking divine truth; his Jewish opponents thought he was speaking blasphemy. And the Jews had the power, so the Christian ended up dead. Loss of life was the punishment for blasphemy against Jewish ideology in the first century; in the twenty-first century, the punishment for blasphemy against Jewish ideology is loss of income, career and reputation. And sometimes of liberty too. But in the twenty-first century it’s not called blasphemy any more. No, it’s called racism.

But the change of name hasn’t changed the psychology. That’s why you can understand the concept of racism better by mentally translating “racist” into “blasphemous.” When you do that, you understand the true psychological and cultural power of being called “Racist!” People are frightened of that because it tells them that they’re doing something both shameful and dangerous. On the one hand, they’re defiling the sacred; on the other, they’re risking the wrath of a powerful priesthood. In Stephen’s day, the priesthood could order that you be stoned to death for blasphemy. In our day, the priesthood can order something that can be, for a social animal like Homo sapiens, more frightening than death: social exclusion and loss of reputation. In militaries all over the West, there are fit, strong men trained in deadly combat who disagree vehemently with the leftist lies and lunacies of anti-racism, anti-sexism and transgenderism. But how many of those men have spoken out against what they disagree with? They’ve been happy to risk their lives in physical battle, but not their reputations in ideological battle. Moral courage is much rarer than physical courage. That’s partly because physical courage wins you praise and plaudits. By risking physical death, you earn the high opinion of others.

But moral courage, by definition, means placing abstract ideas above social opinion. Bravery burnishes your reputation. Blasphemy blasts your reputation. And over evolutionary time, the brave must have bred far better than the blasphemous. The conformists have bred far better than the blasphemous too. It could well be that humans have a mental module for BLASPHEMY, something that triggers a visceral response to both the action and the accusation of defiling the sacred and offending the priesthood. So I’d suggest that, as the overt religion of Christianity faded, the covert religion of leftism began to use a very new word to trigger the ancient neural circuits.

Asymmetric Cultural Warfare

Indeed, most Christian churches today care far more about the secular sin of “racism” than they do about the religious sin of blasphemy. In the Church of England, priests are sometimes less likely than parishioners to believe in the literal truth of the Virgin Birth and Resurrection. But priests are more likely to believe in open borders and “Refugees Welcome!” And while modern priests would laugh if a White parishioner accused them of blasphemy, they would be horrified if a Black parishioner accused them of racism. In a panic-stricken flood of words, the priests would hasten to assure the Black accuser that, no, they weren’t racist, not in a million years. That’s an example of the asymmetry of the accusation. It takes two syllables — “Ra-cist!” — for X to accuse Y. How many syllables does Y have to use defending himself? And compare the cost paid by X for an accusation that fails with the cost paid by Y for an accusation that succeeds.

How much has Justin Smollett had to pay for falsely attributing a hate-crime to Whites? Almost nothing. And how much has Derek Chauvin had to pay for being falsely accused of a hate-crime against a Black? Almost everything. When I look at the culture wars, anti-racism reminds me of drone warfare. It’s very cheap and easy for the offense to manufacture and fire a drone or an accusation of racism, but very expensive and difficult for the defense to ward off the attack. Accordingly, when you think of racism, don’t just translate the concept as blasphemy. No, translate it as bomb-blasts too. What the Chinese physicist Steve Hsu says about real warfare also applies to cultural warfare:

The offense-defense asymmetry begins with physics and geometry. Against a comparable technology, an interceptor has the harder kinematic problem: it must detect an incoming weapon, accelerate rapidly, maneuver with sufficient margin to reach a predicted intercept point, discriminate the real warhead from debris or decoys, and achieve a direct hit or very close pass. It must therefore generally be more capable — and more expensive — than the missile it is trying to destroy. The sensor burden is asymmetric as well. The defender needs persistent, precise coverage of a wide area, plus communications and battle management able to process many simultaneous tracks. The attacker needs only the coordinates of a fixed target; even against a moving ship, it needs to find and update one target track, not monitor and defend an entire theater. Hsu’s words explains why the giant American military has done so badly against the dwarvish Iranian military. It’s because America has spent much more but gotten much less bang for its buck. As another astute commentator says at Vox Day’s Sigma Game:

The US military industrial complex is a giant graft machine designed to loot the treasury. Only occasionally does it deliver a weapon that actually works and even then, only a few because the costs are so high. The Gulf states have reportedly ordered over 5,000 Patriot missiles to replace all of those used during the two months or thereabouts of the hot war against Iran. And at the moment, the US produces 650 a year. Gonna be a long wait. Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly building 1200 drones a day of all types. But the situation for Whites in the West is in fact worse than it is for the American military in the Gulf. Yes, the “US military industrial complex” is a giant graft machine, but it isn’t actively working on behalf of America’s enemies.

But the “DEI industrial complex” is actively working on behalf of the West’s enemies. That’s why Whites need to topple the leftist priesthood and separate ourselves from the priesthood’s pets. Otherwise those two syllables — “Racist!” — will topple a titanic civilization.
