House majority whip speaks to David Duke conference

It happened in 2002, but it’s the biggest political news story in America this week. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) has now confirmed that he spoke to a conference organized by former Representative David Duke (R-LA). The Washington Post:
Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the House majority whip, acknowledged Monday that he spoke at a gathering hosted by white-supremacist leaders while serving as a state representative in 2002, thrusting a racial controversy into House Republican ranks days before the party assumes control of both congressional chambers.
 
Scalise, 49, who ascended to the House GOP’s third-ranking post this year, confirmed through an adviser that he once appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, or EURO. But the adviser said the congressman didn’t know at the time about the group’s affiliation with racists and neo-Nazi activists.
 
“For anyone to suggest that I was involved with a group like that is insulting and ludicrous,” Scalise told the Times-Picayune on Monday night. The organization, founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, has been called a hate group by several civil rights organizations.
The news could complicate Republican efforts to project the sense of a fresh start for a resurgent, diversifying party as the new session of Congress opens next week. In the time since voters handed control of Congress to Republicans, top GOP leaders have been eagerly trumpeting their revamped image and management team on Capitol Hill.
Monday night, some Democrats were already raising questions about whether Scalise should remain in a leadership post.
“It’s hard to believe, given David Duke’s reputation in Louisiana, that somebody in politics in Louisiana wasn’t aware of Duke’s associations with the group and what they stand for,” said Rep. Joaquin Castro (Tex.), a rising star in the Democratic Party who is considered among the most prominent Hispanics in Congress. “If that’s the case and he agreed to join them for their event, then I think it’s a real test for Speaker Boehner as to whether congressman Scalise should remain in Republican leadership,” Castro said in a phone interview.

The BBC’s Danny Cohen as Ethnic Outsider

To understand the present, study the past. The Bolshevik Revolution is a good place to start. This is what the Russian writer Maxim Gorky (1868-1936) said about the Bolshevik leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924):

Lenin is a gifted man who has all the qualities of a leader, including these essential ones: lack of morality and a merciless, lordly harshness towards the lives of the masses. As long as I can, I will repeat to the Russian proletariat: “You are being led to destruction, you are being used as material in an inhuman experiment; to your leaders, you are not human.” (See here)

Those harsh Bolshevik attitudes to “the masses” were shaped by ethnic identities, because the leaders were ethnic outsiders with no allegiance or feeling for the Russian people. Lenin was half Mongol, a quarter German and a quarter Jewish. His henchmen Trotsky, Zinoviev and Kamenev were Jewish.  Stalin, Beria, and Ordzhonikidze were Georgians; Dzerzhinsky, the ruthless head of the Checka (Secret Police) during the 1920s, was a Pole with strong pro-Jewish attitudes. The original Cheka was made up largely of non-Russians, and the Russians in the Cheka tended to be sadistic psychopaths and criminals — people who are unlikely to have any allegiance to or identification with their people (here, p. xxxii).

These ethnic patterns help explain the psychology of leading Bolsheviks and their “merciless, lordly harshness” towards the native Russian and Ukrainian majority.

British Jews also behave like ethnic outsiders and, like the Bolsheviks, they have a dramatic influence on society as a whole. Despite being less than 0.5% of the population, British Jews have a huge influence on British politics because of their financial contributions. And their role in the British media is no less. Genuine conservatives sometimes say that the acronym BBC stands for “Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation.” They speak more truly than they know. Just as Jews were hugely over-represented among the Bolshevik leaders, so they are among the BBC’s executives: Alan Yentob, Jenny Abramsky and Mark Damazer, for example.

A new name on the list is Danny Cohen, who is director of BBC Television at the age of only 40. But early success hasn’t assuaged an ancient angst:

The director of television at the BBC has said he has “never felt so uncomfortable as a Jew in the UK” as it was revealed that antisemitic incidents in Britain hit record annual levels in 2014. Danny Cohen used the platform of a conference in Jerusalem to express his fears over what he identified as growing levels of hostility towards Jewish communities in Britain and in other parts of Europe. “I’ve never felt so uncomfortable being a Jew in the UK as I’ve felt in the last 12 months. And it’s made me think about, you know, is it our long-term home, actually? Because you feel it. I’ve felt it in a way I’ve never felt before,” he said.

Mr Cohen, 40, the former controller of BBC1, said levels of hatred were on the rise across Europe. “You’ve seen the number of attacks rise, you’ve seen murders in France, you’ve seen murders in Belgium. It’s been pretty grim actually,” he told an audience at Jerusalem Cinematheque at a conference addressing the ability of comedy to drive forward social change. […]

The Gaza conflict led to a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents in Britain, where the Jewish community amounts to 260,000. Following a pro-Palestinian rally in July, a group of young [non-White Muslim] men drove in convoy through a Jewish part of Greater Manchester shouting “Heil Hitler” and throwing eggs and drinks cans at pedestrians. Four teenagers were charged with a physical attack on a rabbi in Gateshead. A sign saying “Child Murderers” was placed outside the Kingston Synagogue, south-west London, in August.

Vivian Wineman, of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, told The Independent that the number of recorded antisemitic incidents for 2014 was “the highest since records began”, although there has been a fall-off in recent months. “Whilst we have much to celebrate about being Jewish in the UK, a summer filled with hostile, anti-Zionist demonstrations has clearly left its mark,” he said. “Compared to other countries in Europe, the UK still has relatively low levels of antisemitism and it is reassuring to note that the number of recorded antisemitic incidents is returning to former levels. However we must not rest on our laurels. The Board, alongside other Jewish organisations, will continue to work together with government and others to combat this deeply concerning trend.” (BBC director Danny Cohen: Rising UK antisemitism makes me feel more uncomfortable than ever, The Independent, 22nd December 2014)

Danny Cohen clearly sees himself “as a Jew in the UK” rather than British. For him, the UK is a temporary stopping off place depending on the fortunes of his people. Citizenship has nothing to do with having a deep connection to the land or the traditional peoples of the UK. He cares nothing for its long term viability. Unlike the native Brits, he easily contemplates moving elsewhere, perhaps Israel, if things become difficult for Jews in the UK.  Read more

First, the argument: Hollywood, which is and always has been controlled by Jews, uses the medium of film to mask the vast power Jews have over the finances of America — and much of the rest of the world. In particular, Hollywood makes every effort to whitewash the reality of massive Jewish malfeasance in matters financial. This has been one of my major themes on TOO. See, for example, here, here, here, and here.  As you will read, I have documented this pattern and will supplement it with an extensive treatment of the 1991 film Other People’s Money, which gave us a command performance by the diminutive Danny DeVito.

The timing of this film is critical, for it came after a decade of highly publicized Wall Street deals, many of questionable legality or blatant illegality. When we consider the sad spectacle of these scandals of the 1980s, what we find is that there is no doubt about the identity of the vast majority of culprits — at least for those with eyes to see it.

Two writers who had both the eyes to see it and the talent to write about it intelligently were Connie Bruck — who is Jewish — and James B. Stewart — who is not. (Intriguingly, the obituary of Stewart’s mother notes that her son James’ “spouse” is one Benjamin Weil, who is Jewish.) Read more

More Census Bureau Propaganda

Here we go again. More politicised demographic predictions from the Census Bureau.  These projections are then hyped by the Brookings Institute, and then by a wide array of mainstream media, from the New York Times to the New Republic.  The take home message? White people need to give up the fight to govern themselves because Whites are in demographic decline and—depending on which news source you read—will be a minority by the year 2044 or 2050. As a result, there is no point for Whites in opposing immigration because the immigration we already have will soon make Whites a minority.

Our elites craft this take home message of despair to persuade White people to give up the fight against non-White immigration and any attempt to establish a natural elite that share our racial and cultural characteristics.  We are supposed to glance at the published colored charts, the bar graphs, and the highlighted bullet points that scream “Whites are finished” and then make our peace with reality.

One author in particular leads this charge. He is William H. Frey, a demographer and a senior fellow at the Metropolitan Policy Program of Haim Saban‘s Brookings Institute. He uses the newly published “data” from the Census Bureau to beckon White people into an open coffin, lay down of our own volition and watch quietly as our elites shut the lid tight.

Acknowledging the inspiration and support of his wife, Olivia Golden, Frey triumphantly declares the end of the White era in his book, Diversity Explosion: How New Racial Demographics are Remaking America (Brookings Institution Press, 2014). He gleefully pronounces that aged White males will be banished from the halls of power. The new nation of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and mixed-race peoples will dominate the political scene. And of course—unacknowledged—is the fact that the self-chosen will rule unchallenged over this diverse American ghetto as our national slumlords. Read more

Yes, the Media Has Blood on Its Hands

The New York Times has reacted with predictable umbrage to any suggestion that the media deluge on the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases had anything to do with the murder of the two policemen in Brooklyn.

Mr. [Bill] de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton, who stood together on Monday afternoon, tried their best to respond to rage with reason.

Mr. Bratton had chosen his words poorly earlier in the day, in a morning TV interview, saying that “the targeting of these two police officers was a direct spinoff of this issue of these demonstrations.” He should have made clear that the only one responsible for the killings is the killer, Ismaaiyl Brinsley. Mr. Bratton’s 35,000 officers, in whom Mr. Lynch has been trying mightily to stoke a sense of grievance and victimhood, need to hear from him that this administration fully supports the police, and that gestures of contempt — like turning their backs on the mayor — are out of place. [my emphasis]

It’s a strange argument, especially coming from the certifiably left — that Mr. Brinsley acted in a complete vacuum, that his cultural surroundings played no role. It didn’t matter that there were protest marches chanting “What do we want? Dead cops!” (ignored by Al Sharpton). It didn’t matter that all the statements and actions by Obama, Holder, and de Blasio supported the protesters and blamed the police for the “climate of distrust” in Black communities.

In general, the left loves arguments that culture is important. They have no problem attributing the behavior of police officers killing Blacks, the performance of Black schoolchildren, Black criminality and every other pathology to a poisonous racism that pervades White society. Discussion of genetic influences are off limits, and unfortunately there are no cultural/environmental cures for low IQ. Black children are therefore not responsible for academic failure and we have to be understanding about the levels of criminality among Blacks.  Read more

Björn Söder, Swedish Jews, and Multiculturalism

Of all the accusations commonly leveled against a Jews as a group, perhaps the one they find most frightening is the accusation that they are disloyal, or aren’t ‘quite’ like the rest of us. Arguably, a large part of the Jewish evolutionary strategy consists of maintaining a pose, or pretence, to be fully in and of the nation and its people. In this context, accusations of disloyalty, or even gentle reminders that Jews have an unassimilated separate ‘identity,’ disturb the strategy in such a fundamental manner that the entire Jewish ‘game’ seems to be in jeopardy. Since the era of Jewish ‘emancipation,’ the pursuance and success of the strategy has been highly dependent on the rest of society granting Jews citizenship on equal terms, and failing to note that Jews have a different agenda and aren’t playing by the same rules. Jews therefore jealously censor discussion of their loyalty, citizenship, identity, and place within the nation.

Given these realities, I wasn’t surprised this week when Jewish leaders in Sweden got a little hot under the collar after Björn Söder, secretary of the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats (SD) and deputy speaker in Parliament, went on record with some fairly innocuous comments about citizenship and identity which, disturbingly for the Hebrews, happened to mention Jews.

In an interesting and frank newspaper interview published on Sunday, Söder is reported to have said:

I think that most people with Jewish origin who have become Swedes leave their Jewish identity behind. But if they don’t, it doesn’t have to be an issue. One must distinguish between citizenship and nationhood. They can still be Swedish citizens and live in Sweden. Sami and Jews have lived in Sweden for a long time.

We are winding up our annual year-end fundraising appeal—our only appeal of the year (but that may change depending on how things go). I’d like to thank those who have contributed during 2017. (The donation button at the top of the page on the far right — the one with the coins in the logo — works. The other one doesn’t, at least for some people.) Your support is much appreciated. With your generous support, we have been able to put out well over 300 articles, blogs, and translations in the past year. Our video archive, established on January 1, 2013, now has dozens of videos. the comments section is open once again, responding to the need to feel part of an intellectual community.

Your support is important for many of our writers, and we are trying our best to be competitive with other websites in paying them. Donations of all amounts are welcome. As always, the financial base for projects like TOO is dwarfed by the financial resources of our enemies. Nobody is getting rich here, or even making a living by writing for TOO, but your support is a huge psychological boost for many.

This is an exciting time. As we have pointed out many times, politics throughout the West is becoming ever more racialized. White people are increasingly concerned about the changes they see all around them, and Whites are definitely worried about becoming a minority. We know that politicians are forced to toe the line when it comes to issues like immigration, multiculturalism, and Jewish power and influence. However, the presence of intelligent, well-written commentary on contemporary issues may well seep into their consciousness even though they can’t discuss issues the way we do. We are the conscience of White America in an age when there are vast temptations to give in to the system.

As these changes continue to accelerate, White people will increasingly identify as White and support causes that advance the interests of Whites. It is therefore critical to maintain an intellectually honest critique of the current regime. TOO is one of the few websites that deals explicitly with all of the enemies of our people and does so in a fact-based, rational manner.

Why support the Occidental Observer?

  1. There are political reasons to support TOO:
    • Survival: Western societies, including the USA, are rapidly dissolving under the twin attacks of mass Third World immigration and domestic ethnic competition (“multiculturalism”, “political correctness”, “affirmative action”, “equal opportunity”).
    • Pride: Whites have been kicked around for too long. It’s time to stop white flight and to reclaim our cities, our schools, and our jobs.
    • Truth and Justice: There are also matters of principle. In a liberal democracy good policies result from the truth being told. Lies are not only a vexation to the spirit, they result in the sort of bad governance that is dragging down America.
  2. There are also operational reasons:
    • Euro-Americans need to build activist organizations able to rival the large minority agencies such as the American Jewish Committee, the ADL, the NAACP, and La Raza. We also need to challenge the academic orthodoxy that has smothered White concerns for generations. TOO is your champion. We are willing to step forward on your behalf. But the website can only be as strong as you allow it to be.
    • TOO needs to professionalize. We have set up TOO on a shoe-string budget. We are determined to do much more, with new departments and in-depth analysis of the issues that concern white Americans. There are skilled and knowledge professionals willing to join the TOO team. But volunteer labor can only go so far.
    • Small donations make a difference when multiplied hundreds of times. Donations are more effective when made regularly because this allows us to forecast revenue and plan new projects accordingly. That is why an automatic credit card deposit of $10 per month is more valuable to us than a lump-sum payment of $120 per year. (However, we will accept lump sums . . .)
    • Ultimately we want White majority organizations to be so strong that politicians feel that they have no choice but to listen to their concerns. The results of the 2014 election show that Whites are increasingly voting on the basis of their racial identity. This will continue as Whites feel threatened by the rising tide of non-Whites imported by our hostile elites. Even when we are excluded from the mainstream media, we give confidence to politicians who oppose the present policies such as massive non-White immigration.
