Joe Biden’s faux pas
Good grief! Joe Biden should know the ground rules by now. You can praise the contributions of individual Jews. It’s totally permissible to wax eloquent on the accomplishments of Sigmund Freud, Jonas Salk, or Albert Einstein—perhaps even implying that humanity would never have come on these ideas and thus be infinitely poorer for it. (John Derbshire seems to agree, but it’s ridiculous on the face of it.) You can even praise the Jewish community’s role in enacting public policy on which there is a broad consensus, such as the Civil Rights movement.
But you can’t imply that Jews have real power and have used it to push America in directions most Americans don’t want to go or obviously conflict with the legitimate interests of other groups—particularly Whites.
The Jewish people have contributed greatly to America. No group has had such an outsized influence per capita as all of you standing before you, and all of those who went before me and all of those who went before you … I think you, as usual, underestimate the impact of Jewish heritage. I really mean that. I think you vastly underestimate the impact you’ve had on the development of this nation. (See Jonathan Chait, “Biden praises Jews, Goes Too Far, Accidentally Thrills Anti-Semites“)
In particular, as noted also at TOO, Biden claims that Jews have been at the vanguard of gay marriage. We have also noted Jewish domination of the gun control movement and their responsibility for the mainstreaming of pornography and for the sexualization of culture. Jewish neocons with their power in the media and in the government were the main force behind the costly war in Iraq. And by far most importantly Jews have been the main force behind displacement-level non-White immigration (see also here regarding the current push for yet more massive increases in non-White immigrants). Biden cheerfully says, ““The embrace of immigration” is part of that, as is the involvement of Jews in social justice movements.”
Biden therefore strokes the egos of his audience, maintaining that Jews have nothing but the loftiest of motives in whatever they do. Being in favor of massive non-White immigration and multiculturalism is for the good of humanity—a proposal that immediately raises red flags for an evolutionist. But if social justice was all there was to it, why are Jews in favor of displacement-level immigration and multiculturalism in the Diaspora in the West but resolutely opposed to such policies in Israel? Why is there so much evidence that fear and loathing of the traditional peoples and culture of the West are absolutely central to the views of the Jewish community on immigration? Why is there so much evidence that Jews are not only an elite but a hostile elite—hostile to the traditional people and culture of the West because of their perceptions of the history of anti-Semitism and as motivating the displacement of their ethnic competitors (47 TOO articles)?
But since Biden interprets Jewish motives as nothing if not pristine and their effects as the quintessence of morality, he thinks he is free to say that Jews have quite a bit of power.
“Think behind of all that, I bet you 85 percent of those changes, whether it’s in Hollywood or social media are a consequence of Jewish leaders in the industry. The influence is immense, the influence is immense. And, I might add, it is all to the good.”
But that is a mistake. Banning honest discussions of Jewish power is the linchpin that protects Jewish power. Joe Sobran and Wilmot Robertson noted this long ago, and it remains true today.
Chait loves the fact that people like him run the media: “We liberals owe not a small measure of our success to the propaganda campaign of a tiny, disproportionately influential cultural elite” (see here). Must be nice to have your ideas broadcast 24/7 to hundreds of millions of people while the racialist right is pretty stuck expressing their views in a closet.
And although Chait expresses concern that Biden’s ideas will be used by “anti-Semites,” I don’t think he should be too worried. There’s probably not more than 1/1000 Americans who are aware of his comments. I can’t even find the entire original speech anywhere. They will be quickly forgotten, just like Manny Friedman’s claim that Jews own the whole country or Joel Stein’s comment that Jews run Hollywood.
I suppose it’s always nice to have establishment figures like Biden or Jews assert what we know to be true about Jewish power, even though they systematically distort certain key facts, as noted above. In his article Chait again comes up with the old chestnut that Hollywood Jews “lived in terror that they would be seen as using their control of film to impose a particular Jewish slant upon the culture and labored endlessly to dispel any such suspicions.”
In fact, there was a huge uproar in the 1920s insisting on control over Hollywood because of the content of movies, particularly because of material related to sex and the family. The reaction against this by conservative America did indeed have overtones of anti-Semitism (e.g., in Henry Ford’s The International Jew), but Hollywood did not voluntarily stop what it was doing. Instead, there was the establishment of The Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America, headed by Will H. Hays in 1922 in response to movements in over thirty state legislatures to enact strict censorship laws. Later the Production Code Administration, headed by Joseph I. Breen, was launched in response to a campaign by the Catholic National Legion of Decency.
It took the 1960s counter-cultural revolution to unleash Hollywood with the results that we see now: wall-to-wall violence and sexuality. And the Nazis and anyone else who opposes multicultural America are always the bad guys.
