The Cultural Consensus about Israel inside the Hollywood Establishment

Philip Weiss on a group email that was uncovered by the Sony hack. The

The heart of the exchange is [Ryan] Kavanaugh’s [despite his name, Kavanaugh is ethnically Jewish] concern that rage toward Israel over Gaza will result in another Holocaust. … The elite email group includes Sony’s CEO Michael Lynton, Hollywood producers, Republican Israel supporter Frank Luntz, and Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. …

I don’t think this kind of group email is meaningless or hilarious. Frank Luntz is a rightwing Zionist pollster who has promoted PM Netanyahu over President Obama. Marvin Hier is a rightwinger too. Simmons is an outspoken Democrat, but he is obviously concerned about saying the right thing re Israel to a group that includes powerful folks. Yes: also some concern for “innocent Palestinians,” as opposed to Hamas. Despite [Natalie] Portman’s demurral, the email chain here surely represents a cultural consensus about Israel inside the establishment. The fact that Rick Stengel of the State Department also reached out at that time to Lynton– both men are of Jewish descent (and Stengel is an old friend of mine, and a good guy)– is no conspiracy but a reflection of The Powers That Be in this day and age.

The same cultural consensus and flexing of muscle was evident when Haim Saban and Sheldon Adelson got together and mused about bombing Iran and buying the New York Times to guarantee its support for Israel. Haaretz at that time said archly, “It was like a scene out of ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.’ Two immensely wealthy Jews, key financiers of the main political parties of the world’s superpower, discussing how to wage war on the enemies of the Jews, and control the media and presidents.”

It’s easy for an Israeli outlet to make that kind of comment; it has the excuse that it is talking amongst Jews in a confidential manner and not to a general public who might conceive a prejudice against Jews. But this is the embarrassment of the Sony email chain: it is a reflection of Jewish power inside the establishment in support of Israel. As I’ve said often here, I don’t have a problem with the power part; the elite is bound to have one sort of flavor or another, this is the latest flavor and it’s passing. It’s the support for Jewish nationalism in the Middle East that’s an issue.

Well, I rather doubt that Jewish power or the allegiance of Jewish elites to Israel is passing. There is zero evidence of that. After all, this is an elite that is intent on not being even identified as an elite. The example of Saban and Adelson alluded to by Weiss is a nice illustration. “Two immensely wealthy Jews, key financiers of the main political parties of the world’s superpower, discussing how to wage war on the enemies of the Jews, and control the media and presidents.”  The story is unreported in the mainstream U.S. media, and the same goes for any mention of the consensus on Jewish issues in Hollywood (progressive except for Palestine). In both cases, just another part of the “White” power structure.

Being Critical of Jews Is the Ultimate Taboo

Nobody — or hardly anybody — ever talks about how Palestinian Christians are treated in Israel. The reason is very probably what I found out for myself when I published an article on my blog about how Israel is not such a haven for Christians and received abusive comments from a couple of (anonymous) usual suspects.

As these positions deserve to be exposed, I decided to reply to them here.

The first comment is in answer to the point I made that what happens to Christians in Israel is usually favourably compared with what happens to them in Islamic countries. But is that the right comparison? Isn’t Israel supposed to be democratic and Western?

Therefore, Israel should be judged by that standard and the way Christians and Christianity are treated in Israel compared with the way minorities and their religions (including Jews and Judaism) are treated in Western countries.

The first anonymous commenter says:

It’s the opposite the aggression in Israel is done by arrogant antisemites, the cameras only roll when a Jew gets angry enough to respond, Christians set Jews up in Israel just like they do everywhere else. Where do you think Muslims learned these tricks?

Pope Francis tells “no longer fertile” Europe to “ensure the acceptance of immigrants”

It’s not every day that the Pope addresses the European Parliament (the last time was John Paul II in 1988). So the amiable Pope Francis I’s coming to give speak before the Strasbourg assembly and a to the Council of Europe (a Cold War-era pan-European institution including Russia, not an EU body) was a major event for the full house of MEPs and Eurocrats in attendance (notwithstanding the solemnity such an occasion might warrant, a number of representatives underscored their teenage-girl-like giddiness and puerility with the mandatory “selfies”).

I would argue the event was also a significant one for White Nationalists, European Identitarians and all those concerned about the future of Europeans world-wide. The Pope, as head of the Catholic Church, is a significant figure for all Europeans be they religious or not. With the formation of Christendom, the medieval Church played a critical role in religiously, culturally, legally and indeed civilizationally uniting Europeans to a significant degree (albeit incompletely, notably with the East-West schism). This unity had important practical implications: intermarriage and alliances among European aristocrats of different ethnic groups, a common elite language (Latin), the formalization and spread of the Roman custom of exogamous monogamy (in stark contrast with the Islamic World), and indeed the attempts to organize and unite Christian Europeans against the Islamic invaders (successfully in Spain, temporarily in the Holy Land, and disastrously in the Byzantine Empire).

The Pope speaks for a religious institution which at one time embodied European unity and which sought to reconcile the varying interests of our Christian Kings, just as the European Union claims to represent the European interest, with our Presidents and Prime Ministers meeting in Council. For the Pope to speak before the Union’s elected representatives and functionaries is then charged with symbolism. What will he say of the European interest?

Richard Spencer Under Fire

The  Flathead Beacon  has a story on the mobbing of Richard Spencer consequent to the publicity over the Budapest conference. The city council is being asked to enact “an ordinance barring hate-group activities in the community.” As several of the comments note, the First Amendment seems to be of no concern to these activists.  The article is interesting because the effort was organized by a rabbi and attracted some outspoken Jews — not surprising, of course, given the role of the organized Jewish community in promoting non-White immigration and multiculturalism in the U.S. and in promoting “hate speech” laws that stifle free speech on issues related to race and ethnicity. But it deserves to be documented as a case study.

Organized by civil rights activist and local Rabbi Allen Secher, and his wife, Ina Albert, the residents offered emotional testimony in an effort to “pass a no-hate ordinance so that hate organizations cannot do business in our town,” Albert said. …

Many in attendance spoke of their Jewish faith, including Hilary Shaw, executive director of the Abbie Shelter, whose grandfather is a Holocaust survivor.

“My grandfather taught me that diversity makes us more beautiful. I do not want Richard Spencer to conduct National Policy Institute business freely in our town,” she said. “I am here to ask you to stop he and others who share those beliefs from doing business in our town.” …

At the end of the lengthy, dramatic testimony, council member Richard Hildner offered his own emotional comment in support of some countermeasure to local “hate groups.”

“Hate, racism, and bigotry are not community values in Whitefish and I promise you that I will do everything in my power to protect the city of Whitefish from racism, bigotry and prejudice,” Hildner said. “I want you to know that you have my pledge.”

Spencer’s presence is not the first time that a fringe group has found purchase in the Flathead Valley, or made headlines. Both Secher and Albert referred in their testimony to a spate of Holocaust-denial films shown publicly in the Flathead Valley in 2009 and 2010. The events were organized by well-known white supremacists seeking to transform the valley into a bastion for those who share white separatist ideologies.

The films prompted the formation of Love Lives Here.

“I love this town. I adore it and I want to keep adoring it,” Secher told the council. “Let’s not even open the door to this guy.”

It’s interesting to read the comments, including several that refer to Jewish hypocrisy in supporting diversity in the U.S. while supporting Israel apartheid and brutality for the Palestinians and deportation of Africans from Israel. Israeli behavior is becoming a problem for diaspora Jews intent on posing as moral paragons in the West. It’s reminiscent of the AIPAC rabbi being heckled while calling for “social justice” in Ferguson.

The display is mild compared to what can be expected if the White advocacy/White separatism movement starts to get real traction. Of course, it that happened, one might find that the conformist Whites who are presenting themselves as enlightened anti-racists these days would suddenly become outspoken defenders of the idea that it’s okay for Whites to identify as White and to pursue White interests on immigration, multiculturalism, and a White homeland.

Get into Twitter. Be Depressed.

They always say it’s darkest before the dawn, but I must admit to being really depressed by all that’s happened lately on the immigration front. I think it’s Twitter’s fault. For example, a recent tweet linked to a statement by Sen. Jeff Sessions that is a horrifying summary of the tsunami from abroad that our hostile elites are inflicting on us.

“The Wall Street Journal confirmed today that the President is planning to issue a massive unilateral executive amnesty after the election.

“In its report, the WSJ certifies that this executive amnesty would provide work permits for illegal immigrants—taking jobs directly from struggling Americans.

“Based on the USCIS contract bid and statements from USCIS employees, we know this executive immigration order is likely to be broader in scope than anyone has imagined.

“Earlier this week, President Obama’s former head of Homeland Security revealed that she overrode resistance from administration lawyers and law enforcement agents in implementing the President’s earlier unlawful amnesty and work authorization program for illegal immigrants 30 and under. This was an open admission by one of the most senior people in government of violating one’s oath of office in order to accomplish a nakedly political aim.

“The President is assuming for himself the sole and absolute power to decide who can enter, work, live, and claim benefits in the United States. He has exempted virtually every group in the world from America’s immigration laws: people who enter before a certain age, people related to people who enter before a certain age, adults traveling with minors, minors traveling with adults, illegal immigrants who are not convicted of serious crimes, illegal workers who are convicted of serious crimes but not enough serious crimes, almost anyone who shows up the border and demands asylum, the millions who overstay their visas, and, as was recently exposed, illegal immigrants with serious criminal histories. The list continues to grow.

“A nation creates borders and laws to protect its own citizens. What about their needs? (“The World Has Been Turned Upside Down“; My emphasis)

This is a typical example from my Twitter feed, and it doesn’t even deal with legal immigration. For someone like me who grew up in the 1950s in an all-White community and assumed that the US would always stay that way (except continue to be more prosperous economically), the world has indeed been completely turned upside down. The obscene alliance between the anti-White left, non-White ethnic activists, and big business continues to rack up victory after victory. Even a Republican landslide on Tuesday will seemingly not prevent an obviously unconstitutional unilateral amnesty (or perhaps lead to a Republican-led amnesty in Congress), no matter what  most Americans and the great majority of Whites want. The Silencing of the NPI in Budapest: Update

Addendum, 10/5, from a correspondent:

Richard Spencer of the National Policy Institute expects to be deported from Hungary on Monday morning after being kept in police detention more than 48 hours after being arrested at a gathering of nationalists, traditionalists and identitarians at a bar Budapest on Friday evening. He is still in detention though police have confirmed they are not investigating any public order or travel documents offence.
The Hungarian government’s determination to disrupt  a legal gathering of the  NPI’s European congress marks a worrying
escalation in state oppression of dissident right meetings. What has caused more concern is that it seems to have been organised with the co-operation of the governments of  France and Russia, both of which have either asked speakers not to attend or disrupted travel arrangements.

The Silencing of the NPI in Budapest

From a correspondent: Richard B Spencer, president of the National Policy Institute, was arrested in Budapest last night as Hungary’s government stepped up its attempts to disrupt a gathering of nationalists, traditionalists and identitarians. It is not known if he is still in custody or has been deported. It is the latest development in a blatantly naked series of co-ordinated repressive measures against dissidents which has seen the NPI’s chosen venue forced to cancel, hotels forced to cancel bookings and Russia and France asked to hinder the movement of conference speakers.  Even Jobbik withdrew its endorsement as did the Budapest-based publisher Arktos, which withdrew its support with great reluctance.

Around 60 police officers in a dozen police vehicles converged on the Clock House Cafe in Buda late on Friday evening and took the names and passport numbers of everyone in attendance.  Only Spencer and another unnamed  American associate were arrested and taken away.  Present were 60 nationalists, traditionalists and identitarians from across Europe and the USA. Spencer gave a V-for-Victory sign from the back of the police bus as he was driven away.

It is an escalation of a posture adopted by the government of President of ‘conservative’ Viktor Orban who  has been shamelessly pandering to left- wing voices from the European Union and the USA. He promised to take all ‘legal’ means to prevent NPI’s  annual congress from being held in Budapest.  It was  scheduled to take place on October 3 – 5 but the original venue cancelled owing to pressure and the organisers were forced to take their meeting ‘underground’.

It is thought that the government of Orban, is seeking to ingratiate itself with the European Union and other US influences by showing that tolerance and freedom of speech were not to be extended to those who speak out for traditionalist, nationalist and anti-immigration viewpoints. It is the latest example of breathtaking double-standards across the length and breadth of the European Union – it is hard to imagine a left-wing conference of any stamp being forcibly cancelled by a government.

One  Englishman who was arrested and released said “It was  Hungary’s version of ‘kettling’ which the British police use to lock down nationalists demonstrators at home.  We were held in the restaurant for three hours while they took names.  There were only two arrests.”  Most of the other delegates continued eating, drinking and singing Flemish folk songs to about 1.30am.  The restaurant staff could not have been more understanding and invited us all back the next day.  The police obviously had little idea what was really going on.”

The conference attendees went ahead with an impromptu gathering in a restaurant on Saturday night and were addressed by two of the original four speakers, Tom Sunic and Jared Taylor both of whom were given standing ovations by an audience of about 150 which included attendees from Japan, Mexico, Canada and Russia especially for the occasion.  The event was also attended by BBC Radio, Die Welt and a freelancer who claimed to be working for Foreign Policy.
Ironically the entry of Hungary into the European Union was only possible after the country passed certain democratic tests.  Todays events reinforce the suggestion that left-wing hegemony was always the goal and ‘conservative’ democratic states like Hungary do not mind what they have to do to fit in with the powers that be in Brussels.
