Policing the Media

Pat Buchanan Fired from MSNBC

We should all he outraged that Pat Buchanan has been fired by MSNBC. As he notes (“The New Blacklisting“; VDARE.com), his firing came after “after an incessant clamor from the left” resulting from the release of his book, Suicide of a Superpower. The problem is that Buchanan doesn’t accept the dogma that our multiracial/multicultural future is going to be just a wonderful place to live. As quoted by one of the clamorers, Media Matters, Buchanan describes the America of 2041 this way:

America’s gonna look very much like California right now. And what does that mean?

California is bankrupt. It’s bond rating is the lowest of any place. Los Angeles, half the people there don’t speak English as — in their own homes — 5 million people. And you’ve got all the problems of crimes. You’ve got a black-brown war among the underclass, as one sheriff described it, in the prisons and in the gangs. And people are leaving California. And it’s the old tax consumers are coming in.

Now, these are not bad or evil people. Even the ones who are illegal. They’re coming to work, many of them. They’re coming for a better life. But the truth is they are bankrupting the state of California because of that divide you mentioned between taxpayers and tax consumers. And what happens when all of America is like that, when every American city is like LA?

What’s so great about being on the left is that you don’t have to rebut your enemies’ ideas. Truth and the interests of Whites are irrelevant when up against the interests and moral claims of non-Whites. Here Buchanan is committing the cardinal sin of the new dispensation: Implying that there  are real differences between peoples and that a very large percentage of the newcomers are not particularly talented and are prone to sucking up government services. And apart from the economic consequences of the Third World invasion, I think it’s going to be way worse for Whites when they become a minority because they will be increasingly victimized by the coalition of the left that hates them so much now.  Not to mention the findings of all the research that multicultural societies are prone to conflict, political alienation, and lack of willingness to contribute to public goods like government-sponsored healthcare.  Read more

Anti-Defamation League blasts Buchanan and Edwards

The ironically named Anti-Defamation League arrived fashionably late to the “Bash Pat Buchanan and James Edwards party” today by issuing a press release to all media outlets that is littered with malevolent and unwarranted personal attacks.

New York, NY, November 2, 2011 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) voiced grave concern today that Pat Buchanan, a political analyst for MSNBC, continues to openly express anti-Semitic, racist and anti-immigrant views.

In a 2009 report, “Patrick Buchanan: Unrepentant Bigot,” ADL said that Buchanan’s increasingly bigoted worldview is identical to those of self-declared “white nationalists.” Buchanan has repeatedly demonized Jews and minorities and has openly affiliated with white supremacists. He has also claimed that the sovereignty of the United States is being undermined by Israeli control and Mexican incursion.

In his new book, Suicide of a Superpower, Buchanan blames the disintegration of the U.S. on its racial diversity and bemoans the destruction of white, Christian America. Read more

The Usual Suspects Angered by Pat Buchanan’s Appearance on James Edward’s Radio Show

Pat Buchanan, always a gentleman, refuses to back down when asked by NPR about his most recent appearance on The Political Cesspool Radio Program. (See also the current TOO featured video for the entire interview.) Note especially Pat’s unintimidated response to the interviewer’s point that ADL head Abe Foxman condemned the interview: “I think there’s an awful lot of smearing being done by the Anti-Defamation League frankly over the years of individuals who simply disagree with them maybe about U.S. policy toward Israel.” Exactly. As Joe Sobran famously said, these days anti-Semites are people that Jews don’t like.

In the meantime, the story of Pat’s latest interview with us is quickly becoming a top news story. Here is one example, from Huffington Post:

African American political advocacy group Color Of Change has called for MSNBC to fire longtime analyst (and even longer-time lightning rod) Pat Buchanan for what it called his “white supremacist ideology.”

The advocacy group sent petition letters to its members on Tuesday. The letter said that MSNBC gives Buchanan a platform to pass off his often loaded remarks as “legitimate mainstream political commentary.”

While Color of Change cited comments made by Buchanan from as early as March 2008, the advocacy group highlighted Buchanan’s new book “Suicide Of A Superpower” and a Saturday appearance on the controversial radio show “The Political Cesspool” (whose host has described his ideology as “pro-white”) as current reasons the network should fire Buchanan.

“Buchanan has just published a book which says that increasing racial diversity is a threat to this country and will mean the ‘End of White America.’ This weekend, to promote his book, he went on a white supremacist radio show…” read the “Fire Pat Buchanan” petition letter.

Buchanan also appeared on NPR’s “The Diane Rehm Show” on Tuesday and further discussed his new book and radio show appearance on “Political Cesspool.”

He defended his decision to visit the radio show and asked “Am I supposed to go and vet all the people on these shows and get the list from [Anti-Defamation League chief] Abe Foxman on what shows I can go on to?”

Make no mistake, friends, in today’s political climate, false accusations such as “white supremacist,” “racist,” and “anti-Semite,” simply mean “unapologetic conservative white person.” These are just intimidating words that are employed to try and make folks like me, who liberals truly hate, go away. I wrote a book about this concept. Read more

Jewish Money Power Dictates: No Immigration/Social Issues At Next GOP Debate.

An interesting question has appeared at the VDARE.com blog: Has Michael Bloomberg Banned Immigration From Next GOP Debate?

Next Tuesday’s Republican Presidential Debate, jointly sponsored by Bloomberg News and The Washington Post, will exclude all issues except the economy, according to a Bloomberg press release.

From a news impresario point of view, presumably wanting drama, this decision makes no sense. As The Washington Examiner’s Byron York pointed out in the underlying story:

Recent Republican presidential debates have featured sharp exchanges between candidates on immigration, No Child Left Behind, U.S. policy toward Pakistan, and Gov. Rick Perry’s HPV virus directive in Texas …in previous debates, non-economic topics have made for some of the most revealing moments. Perry’s “no heart” remark at the Fox News-Google debate in Orlando did enormous damage to his campaign. Likewise, Michele Bachmann’s discussion of the HPV virus at the previous Republican debate, in Tampa, led Perry to make a rare admission of error.

Next GOP debate: hot topics off limits? October 5, 2011

But from the point of view of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, majority owner of Bloomberg News and in effect the dominant force in the debate partnership, it makes perfect sense. Bloomberg has a long record of fanatical enthusiasm for heavy immigration – VDARE.com has a large Bloomberg archive – and his contempt for the religious sensibilities of his countrymen was most recently displayed by his banning all religious observance from New York’s 9/11 Ground Zero commemeration: Vigil protests lack of clergy prayer at 9/11 event AP September 10th 2011 Before that he allied with a small group of fellow ultra-wealthy Jews to force/bribe Homosexual Marriage through the New York Legislature as I noted in We’re Rich; We’re Jewish: We Rule.

Far better the debate be bland and boring than the Peasantry be allowed to think cultural, religious and ethnic issues are for them to decide! Next they will be thinking America is a Democracy and expecting to influence Foreign Policy!

Perhaps the new type of Jewish Plutocrat is no more hungry for political power than their predecessors. They are certainly far less discreet.

The Tony Kushner Affair: Jeffrey Wiesenfeld’s Faux Pas

It is nothing new when someone gets blacklisted or relentlessly attacked for challenging Jewish interests. When it comes to actual Jews challenging the interests of the “tribe” regarding Israel, a different tack must be taken. After all, destroying the career of a fellow Jew is not desirable to most other Jews; but some degree of punishment mixed with reward must be introduced to correct undesirable behavior and it should be done behind the scenes so as not to draw media attention.

The recent events surrounding Richard Goldstone backtracking on the Goldstone Report go a long way to illustrate how the Jewish community deals with someone how strays outside the playbook on Israel. However, another example has recently cropped up which further illustrates how members of the “tribe” are dealt with when they criticize the Jewish State. The New York Times reports that Tony Kushner, a Jewish playwright and screenwriter, who wrote Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes (a mediation on gay themes that is a contribution to destruction of traditional cultural attitudes on sexuality), was recently denied an honorary degree from the City of New York University system for statements critical of Israel. However, in this case, it seems that the main antagonist aligned against Kushner, a fellow Jew, crossed the line, or at least did not go about his business in an acceptable manner. Indeed, his efforts ultimately backfired: Kushner will receive the degree, and the faculty union demanded that Weisenfeld resign from the CUNY board. Read more

Glenn Beck’s Departure–Another Victory for Media Control by the Left

The departure of Glenn Beck is yet another indication of the power of the left to expunge the media against people and ideas they don’t like.  Or at least, that’s the claim. The George Soros-funded Media Matters was all over MSNBC crowing about their success in getting rid of a high-profile critic of their benefactor. A NYTimes account states,

Almost immediately after Mr. Beck’s announcement, the progressive group Media Matters for America, which combats Fox on a daily basis, said it was “no surprise” that he was leaving, given that many advertisers had shunned Mr. Beck’s show ever since he labeled President Obama a racist in the summer of 2009. (Fox has said in the past that the advertisers simply moved over to other programs on the channel.)

Color of Change, the group that spearheaded an advertiser boycott of Mr. Beck, asserted that the program lost “over 300 advertisers.” James Rucker, the executive director of the group, said in a statement, “Fox News Channel clearly understands that Beck’s increasingly erratic behavior is a liability to their ratings and their bottom line, and we are glad to see them take this action.” Read more

Charlie, Say It Ain’t So

Alas, the news is that fabulously popular actor Charlie Sheen has been canned or at least suspended from his show Two and a Half Men. Though the show has been CBS and Warner Bros. Television’s top-rated sitcom for the season, Charlie crossed the line: He said something construed as anti-Semitic.

It happened in a radio interview with Alex Jones:

In his interview with Jones, Sheen repeatedly evoked violent images and ideas. He also derided [Two and a Half Men producer Chuck] Lorre in an attack that reeked of anti-Semitism.

“There’s something this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine — yeah, that’s Chuck’s real name — mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy, bro. Check it, Alex: I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process,” Sheen said.

“Last I checked, Chaim, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. [In a radio interview Sheen claims that Lorre has pocketed a $500,000,000 from the show.] And the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write,” he said.
