Editor’s Note: In honor of the Christmas season, we are posting some past articles from TOO because they seem just as relevant today. This is the first of a two-part article by Edmund Connelly originally posted on December 21, 2008.

VDARE.com is again running their wonderful War on Christmas series, begun in 1999. Various contributors there document how an overwhelmingly Christian America which for centuries celebrated Christmas as both a religious and cultural holiday has in recent years moved vigorously first to quash religious observance of Christmas in the public square and is now mopping up the remaining secular symbols.

While much has been written and reported about this assault, few want to situate the attack on Christmas within a larger set of conflicts between Jews and White Christians. But to understand the hostility toward Christmas in America, one must do just that, as Jewish Townhall.com columnist Burt Prelutsky bluntly did in his 2004 column “The Jewish grinch who stole Christmas.”

The blame for the brisk departure of Christmas observations in so many parts of American life now, Prelutsky argued, can be blamed on “my fellow Jews. When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists, and the American Civil Liberties Union, at the forefront. . . . But the dirty little secret in America is that anti-Semitism is no longer a problem in society — it’s been replaced by a rampant anti-Christianity. “

One could spend a year, from one Christmas to the next, reading about the Gentile-Jewish basis of the War on Christmas. Some accounts are scholarly, while others are more popular. The Friends of Boris Johnson: Plugging into Jewish Networks as the Key to Success for Ambitious Politicians

Boris Johnson in IsraelThere are two pilgrimages which any ambitious British Conservative politician should undertake if he wants to seriously improve his chances of getting the top job. One is to Israel to be pictured with wearing a skull cap at the Western Wall.

The second is to the most exclusive Jewish charity event in the London social calendar. The Norwood Trust banquet is one of the most glittering social occasions in London. Under the chandeliers, networkers rub shoulders with likes of Elton John, Simon Cowell, Tom Jones, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Philip Green and anyone who is anyone in British Jewry.

It was on this august occasion last month that the Mayor of London Boris Johnson addressed the assembled notables and as usual charmed, amused and entertained the huge crowd at London’s Grosvenor Hotel. For “Boris,” as he is universally known, it was the latest in a long strategy of letting Britain’s most powerful ethnic community know that they can count on him. He followed that up last week with a trademark witty denunciation of Donald Trump’s proposed moratorium on Muslim immigration.

“The only reason I wouldn’t go to some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump.” It was a response that delighted the British chattering classes. Typical Boris! A suitably witty quip from a man regarded as humorous as he is unkempt, and a celebrity among the ranks of anonymous political suits. Read more

Patrick Drahi: The Israeli Oligarch Taking Over French and American Media

As I have said elsewhere, Jewish control of media in France strikes me as rather less pronounced as in the United States of America. But Jews do own a fair amount of French media. The most prominent example today is the Israeli financier Patrick Drahi, whose example is highly informative. Drahi has bought up a huge chunk of French print media, some TV and radio, and wants to take over the entire U.S. cable market (he already has two U.S. operators).

One basic take away is this: French Jews who are making their Aliyah to Israel – often citing Islamist terrorism caused by the immigration to France which Jewish groups have themselves supported – in no way forsake meddling in French affairs. A Paris-Tel Aviv flight only takes about four-and-a-half hours after all. Indeed, the aptly-named Roger Cuckierman — a Rothschild banker and the head of the French Jewish lobby (CRIF) has a son Édouard who lives in Israel, has patriotically served in the Israeli Defense Forces, is also a banker, and now “sells Europe on Israel” by building “cross-continental economic bridges.” Oh yes, what good “French citizens” these Cuckiermans.

(Actually Cuckierman recently clarified that: “the Jew is not a citizen like others” and that “we Jews are used to being the sentinels of democracy.” Translated into plain English: Cuckierman believes Jews are a privileged class of citizens and that Jewish ethnic lobbies and “public intellectuals” have and should have a leading role in enforcing political correctness and policing thought in France.) The decadence of a nation is visible in the quality of her leadership. The French Republic, Masonic and godless though she was, once gave us a Clemenceau or a De Gaulle. Now we have François Hollande, a man who right up to his jello-like physique conveys indecision and impotence (much like Jeb Bush). This is what you end up looking like if you never take a chance, never rock the boat, never assert your personality — not once. But Hollande is just the tip of the iceberg. Come, join me as we walk through the hallowed halls of the “French” government.

As a rule, ownership and direct control of media in France strikes me as rather less Jewish than in the USA. Of course the arms manufacturer Serge Dassault (né Bloch) owns the leading conservative newspaper, Le Figaro, Édouard de Rothschild bailed out the supposedly “left-libertarian” Libération, and Bernard-Henri Lévy presides over the Franco-German cultural channel [sic] Arte. (Probably not coincidentally, Arte has been noted for broadcasting highly degenerate and even pornographic content in recent years.)[1] Jews are of course an enormously disproportional percentage of journalists and even more of “public intellectuals” (pretentiously called “philosophes” in France). If anything Jews, making up 1 percent of the French population, probably are close to an absolute majority of the most media-promoted public intellectuals (just watch a French talk show), but it is hard to get hard data on this sort of thing. A major political candidate is saying things that have been kept out of the mainstream for decades by a corrupt elite consensus on immigration and multiculturalism that dominates both the GOP and the Democrats. Suddenly people are waking up to the fact that a very large number of White people are furious about where the US is going.

Donald Trump’s candidacy is a game changer and has a very real possibility of success. In this new climate, millions of White people are realizing that it’s entirely legitimate to oppose immigration and multiculturalism. It’s okay to oppose the idea that every last human has the moral right to immigrate to a Western country, or that all peoples and cultures are equally acceptable as immigrants.

And it’s safe to say that millions of White people are changing what they think. The current zeitgeist depends on top-down control by hostile elites. The vast majority of people develop opinions that are in line with mainstream views, and the mainstream views, from MSNBC and the New York Times to Fox News and National Review, are completely in line with the dispossession of the traditional peoples and culture of America and the West.

Ban Muslim Immigration? Damn Right!

CNN is pulling out all stops to discredit Donald Trump, even acknowledging the bias of elite media:

With Trump’s call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, several of the nation’s most esteemed journalists and influential news outlets have set aside traditional notions of balance and given themselves license to label the Republican front-runner a liar, a demagogue, a racist and worse.

So much for journalistic integrity. That joke of a reporter, Chris Cuomo—the son of the ultra-liberal Democratic Governor of New York—was raving out of control in his “interview” with Trump. But he wasn’t the only one. A series of interviews with other anti-Trump figures followed, plus innumerable panel discussions that were stacked against Trump.

One panelist, an African-American pastor, stood up from Trump’s call for a ban on all Muslim immigration. He said that when Ebola broke out in West Africa a couple of years ago, the US government placed a ban on all travel from the region. They did so because, at that point, the outbreak was not contained and authorities still did not have a handle on it. The US government did the prudent and necessary thing to protect its citizens. To those who were not infected, it may have seemed like an arbitrary thing to do. No doubt those who are subject to a quarantine feel the same way. “I’m not infected, so why stop me from leaving?” It seems to some like an unfair, blanket, shotgun approach. Tough.

It should also be added that countries like Australia take similar precautions regarding boat people. They have them quarantined on an island where authorities have the time to sift through applications. In other words, Australia has “banned” boat people from entering Australian society.
